FeelTheFORCE Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 King Cobra, it was my first looping coaster and first stand-up as well.
Tanks4me05 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Zambezi Zinger is still operational, just not in the US. It is now known as Broca, and it resides in a park called Parque Nacional Del Café in Quindio, Columbia. (I'm under the assumption that you think it was demolished, not relocated, and I think it's recent repaint was posted here a couple of months ago) http://rcdb.com/ig1392.htm Well, for me, the coaster I miss the most would be Hercules. *Prepares to be bashed* I never really found it rough, despite the fact that the only times I rode it (3 times) were in June 2003. Hercules, you will not live in vain, you will not be forgotten! There are still some crazy fanatics that believe in you! I would also say Quantum Loop, but that one was relocated to Salitre Magico in Bogota, Columbia, the same park where Myrtle Beach Pavillion's Corkscrew still resides.
riccoaster Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Air Racer-SFOT that ride was awsome it was as tall as the Oil Derrick it was too bad they took it down.
Darien Laker Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Nightmare at Darien Lake. It's been moved to The Great Escape where it still operates, so I know it's not gone for good (yet), but I still miss it. That was such a fun little coaster, despite the horrible capacity. I was so mad to see it was replaced with a show. It had such fun little drops and you had absolutely no clue where you were going. I've been on better indoor coasters since, but I thought that was the coolest thing ever back in 1997, to have a ride indoors. They just couldn't have taken Predator instead
texasgiantrules Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Air Racer-SFOT that ride was awsome it was as tall as the Oil Derrick it was too bad they took it down. what was it??? my vote for have to be a 3-way tie for(all at Disneyland California): The Rocket Rods, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and the Sky Buckets
riccoaster Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 ^Do you have RCT3 if you do its the flat ride Barnstorm.
eddie200330 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I miss the King Cobra also, albeit the one in Kings Dominion. Also their original lineup of the Lost World prior to it all being gutted for a crappy(ducks the flying objects) coaster. Kennywoods Laser Loop!! Hooray for shuttle loops from Mr. S!!! I rode the kiddy coaster at KW but I don't really remember much about it, must've been @ 6 years old maybe. Oh, and the Galaxy at KD, Glissade at Busch Gardens, and the old log flume where the Raptor now stands at CP. Lost World pre Volcano
thrillrideseeker Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 The coaster I miss the most is... ummmm... Kingda Ka! Even though it is not like gone... I am not riding it! Ok acutally The coaster I miss is... Buzz Saw Falls! Just because it was a fun coaster! Even though it had water, and you got all wet ~Matthew
DarienLaker Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I miss Chaos at Opryland, it was like the only ride that I was interested in when it went there for my only visit there in 1997 before it closed. I wish that Opyland's Chaos was sent to a better home than the scrapyard!
mike541x Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 ^I just wish Opryland was still around. I never got to visit the park, but from what I've seen from pictures/videos it looked like a park I'd be willing to visit every year. I miss the Big Bad Wolf, one of the best roller coasters at night.
DarienLaker Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I just wish Opryland was still around. I never got to visit the park, but from what I've seen from pictures/videos it looked like a park I'd be willing to visit every year. I agree on that remark about Opryland, I wish that it never had closed and demolished for a mall! But I wish that Darien Lake had kept Nightmare at Phantom Cave until the present day and the same thing goes to Floodgate Falls too!
screaminkid2005 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I know people are going to hate two of the rides i'm going to say, but I really miss Great American Scream Machine, Rolling Thunder, & Batman & Robin: The Chiller. I've been visiting Six Flags Great Adventure ever since I was 6 or 7 and those are the coasters I remember the most from my childhood. Rolling Thunder was my first major coaster so it will always have a special place in my heart. Great American Scream Machine always looked so massive when I was little, but I was always too scared to ride it until I was 15 or so. Ever since my first ride on it i've loved the ride and I was really sad to see it go. Batman & Robin: The Chiller was that ride I remember seeing walking up to the parks main gate and just thinking wow. It looked like such a fun ride, but like GASM I was too scared to ride until I was 15. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to ride the Batman side, but did ride the Robin side a bunch of times with the roll. The roll on this ride was/still is my favorite inversion of all time.
cfc Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I'd say the Wacky Soap Box Racers at Knott's. It was a great, unique family coaster.
DarienLaker Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I wish that I remembered Darien Lake's Rainbow Mountain slides, but I only knew about them from the internet!
Mr Stratosphere Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Lightning Bolt at MGM Grand Adventures and Speed: The Ride.
YoshiFan Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 7 years ago on the first page I said City Jet at Gillian's Wonderland Pier for a coaster. I'm changing my choice to Laser at Dorney. It was my 3rd favorite coaster at the park and Schwarzkopf loopers are one of my favorite coaster designs.
KBrylczyk Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Speed: The Ride. I'm still wondering why nobody has bought the damn thing. It's already fabricated, sitting in pieces across from Mandalay Bay. All anyone would have to do is screw it together which I'm guessing significantly reduces the buying price.
bert425 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I miss two, about the same, both from my dearly departed Home Park (Astroworld): Alpine Sleighs: and the Astrowheel: sheesh, I'm like a broken record here. . .but I grew up with that Park, and that's where the majority of my Theme Park Memories as a child are.
rctneil Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I'd say the Wacky Soap Box Racers at Knott's. It was a great, unique family coaster. Were those same track style as Steeplechase at BP but with sit down cars rather than BP's horses?
ytterbiumanalyst Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I've actually been on quite a few defunct coasters, but there are really only two I would say I truly miss, Zambezi Zinger and Ozark Wildcat.
cfc Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) I'd say the Wacky Soap Box Racers at Knott's. It was a great, unique family coaster. Were those same track style as Steeplechase at BP but with sit down cars rather than BP's horses? Funny you should ask, as it started out at the Motorcycle Chase with cycle trains, and was later re-themed as the Soapbox Racers. It is the same track style as Blackpool's. They were both Arrow rides. Here's the coaster in its original version. Edited February 8, 2014 by cfc
Condor Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I guess I'm lucky to not have had any of my favorites taken away yet (or not, because that means I have no nostalgic defunct coaster credits!), so I say my top two are Big Dipper @ Geauga Lake and Speed: The Ride.

Same here, but I only have two nostalgic defunct coaster credits: Chaos from Opryland and Disaster Transport from Cedar Point! But I do wish that I could travel back in time to get some defunct coaster credits like Nightmare at Phantom Cave from Darien Lake, Drachen Fire and Big Bad Wolf from Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Zonga from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom!
