pgathriller Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 I was browsing on Zamperla's website and on the front page they were advertising there new ride Super Spin. http://www.zamperla.it/scheda_prodotto.asp?ID=532 After seeing the pictures and watching the video I'm pretty impressed. It looks like a decent mild thrill ride. IMO it looks like a good ride that can be placed in family amusements parks that need a thrill ride that doesn't take too much away from the family ride category. Such a park is my local one Western Playland. The only downside I see is the low hourly capacity which is 360 per hour. What are your opinions on this new ride? * I also forgot to add that if you go to the last picture in the photo gallery, you can see that his ride has a nice lighting package.
knottslover77 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 The link is not working for me. --Jay
Myst3Exile Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 WOAH, that looks intense I'd love to ride one of those, only problem is that it swings past the ground in an inverted position and I hate that feeling. *cough* slammer *cough* Anyway, cool find.
RRollergod Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 OMFG I had this exact idea in my head for months. Just all the more reason I should get a patent for my ideas. Well then again, in my idea the middle tower spun in circles. It would be a very disorenting ride.
Canobie Fan Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Wee..... If only the zamp OTSRs were not rock hard. All it looks like is Zamps take on a topspin.
Worm Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 the link doesn't work for me either. Could someone post more pics on possibly the video?
Marcus Sheen Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 The link doesn't work for me either (direct links never seem to work on the Zamperla site) but it is easy enough to find from the Zamperla homepage if you click on products and then search for "Super Spin" in the box to the right. Looks fun, kind of like a Booster. Surprised how low the capacity is though considering the number of seats compared to a Booster.
christianscoasters Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 That looks sweet! It would be a nice addition to a family park. Oh yeah, for those who the link dosen't work, here's what I did. Go to http://www.zamperla.it/ On the bottom, there is flash conent with pictures that enlarge when your cursor moves over them. Click on super spin. It should bring it up in a new window. That's how I got to it.
Worm Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 that looks so cool! its basically a wacked out top spin!
Finrock Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 yeah, my home park is getting this next season, I will go ride it The ride looks great on the video
pvcoasterguy Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Let me say one thing: Zamperla Mixer. Yeah, that one looked fun enough, didn't it? Too bad it was the most uncomfortable and unreliable ride imaginable. Unfortunately, due to that poorly designed ride, I don't have really high hopes for this one. Although, the Disk'o was pretty good... I can only hope this won't be as uncomfortable as the Mixer.
benzo41190 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Surprised how low the capacity is though considering the number of seats compared to a Booster. The capacity isn't that low. I mean for a flat ride its pretty good. But the thing is, if it will be installed in a park, then there would be some capacity issues. But it would be fine for a fair or something. Also, I didn't find the mixer that bad. It was actually a lot of fun.
CP_RULES Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Looks kind of like a ride you could finad at a fair to me.... Maybe it would be good for smaller parks like Beech Bend.
Xxhershey818xX Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 That ride looks so sick! Yea but I have to agree. It looks like it should go into small parks or maybe a traveling fair or something.
dr.gumbo Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Looks like an inside out topspin which is good, but with that capasity only small parks that dont have much income will get one Its like a cheap version of the topspin!
IceDragon Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 CwoA deffinately needs this, with a tamed Topspin as the main ride, its a must...
Stealth Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I have to agree this ride would be pretty kewl in Chessy but i would have to say that if they were to get one of these then i doubt they would keep Ramesis aswell as. They would probably end up pushing Ramesis over to Thorpe. I personally don't think we will see one of these coming to CWOA any time soon though, if at all.
kenshinmac Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Anyone else kinda think it is weird that they only went with 12 people? I mean it would seem to me that you could fairly easily bulk up the arms and put a second set of seats on the back of each of the arms... Double capacity model coming soon? Anyone else think so?
Primogen18 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 It looks pretty cool, I could see this going into Knoebels sometime in the near future, we all know Knoebels just loves Zamperla.
