I used to play violin in middle school/high school (I still have it but don't really play it) I've been trying to learn clarinet, keyboards, and bass. -Amanda "Too many instruments, so little time" V. Yankee cannonball
Time to revive an old thread. So I'm looking for a really deep snare for a relatively good price. What I got was the Vinnie Paul sig snare. Can anyone describe how this snare sounds?
coasterguy618
Time to revive an old thread. So I'm looking for a really deep snare for a relatively good price. What I got was the Vinnie Paul sig snare. Can anyone describe how this snare sounds? Do you enjoy playing metal? If you do, go for it. Its a real loud, and almost deep sound, can cut through the loudest of guitars if you are in a band. Not my kind of snare, so I honestly wouldn't suggest buying one. I recently picked up an OCPD X - series 7x13 snare. You cannot go wrong with this snare - its loud, really unique, deep and rich sound. Also - what head do you plan on using? Disney Dood
I play guitar, I will be going on 3 years of playing this week. I own a PRS SE Custom, a Fender Strat Standard, and a Laguna Acoustic, all played out of a Fender Frontman 212R. And I also play the didgeridoo as sort of a joke. Yankee cannonball
^^Well I sometimes play metal but I play all styles really. I'm more into hard rock and skate punk. Would it work for those types of music?
coasterguy618
^^Well I sometimes play metal but I play all styles really. I'm more into hard rock and skate punk. Would it work for those types of music? It really could work for anything, just saying what it sounds best for in my opinion. Its just pretty loud, so if thats what your going for, then yeah it'll be nice. Anyway, heres a shot of my kit about 6 months ago. It really has changed alot, I'll post a new shot when I have the time. I've been playing drums for around 6 and a half years. I'm enjoy playing: R&B, Jazz, Rock, and a little bit of Metal. Not really my thing though. My hardware at the time: 10" Sabian B8 Splash 14" Sabian HH hats 16" Sabian AA Thin Crash 18" Paiste Pst Medium Crash 18" Sabian B8 Pro China 20" Sabian B8 Ride Pearl Export EXL set 6x13 Pearl Snare (recently upgraded to OCDP 7x13 X-Series) 8", 10", 12", 14" rack toms. FitchCoaster
I've played alto sax since 6th grade (I'm in 11th now) and tenor sax in 7th grade (but stopped because I thought the parts were too boring, hahaha). I have a little experience on the drumset, and for drumline I play cymbals and bass drum.
Satchboogie3
I was at Berklee College of Music for 2 years until I realized that, well, $40K+ a year just isn't worth it for the place. I play guitar and lately, I've been just a little bit obsessed with Pat Metheny. Yeah, I have good taste.
TPDave
Woah, there's a lot of drummers (and some enviable set-ups) on this board! I may as well join the club! I've been playing for 12 years now. KPWoCkAxX
Us bassists are a dying breed. At my school out of the 60 odd people who take guitar lessons a week only two of us are bassists. We only have three bassists in a school of over 2000 students. I'm getting an ESP EX-104 soon, I can't wait! http://espguitars.com/basses_ex.html - Clicky =]
