^I heard somewhere the announcement was coming sometime late August. Also, you can tell it will be announced soon just because they put a web-cam on it.

Maybe, maybe not.

TTD had a webcam put up early on. Then the park realized what kind of buzz the ride was getting so they pushed the announcement back a few months.

Have y'all seen the aerials on Pointbuzz? That area is a LOT larger than I thought. So many kinda tall supports that seem to not change in elevation much.

Proving that if all the fanboys would just shut up for a couple weeks, they'd get what they were hoping for in the first place.

Yea I looked at them too and it does seem bigger than I remember from being there in may...but then again they couldve cleared out more area since then.

The common comment I keep seeing is that it's smaller then people think, unless there's more footers in a different area to come.

There's definetly not enough there to prove some of those crazy rumours peope have been coming up with.

Red and Brown, seems to fit the western theme very well. Hopefully they max this out with themery!

hahahahaha, Not laughing at you just the "max this out with themery"

Break out the black lights and cardboard.. WooHoo..

Cedar Point, theming? Hey just be glad they finally ran out of all the bright paint after top thrill and iron dragon. Maverick could of been orange

I still agree with the multi looper as most likely, or well they could be just doing all the work to cover up the truth, yes you heard it here first, they only bought paramount parks for the rights to build their own mini cooper coaster. Man the length people will go to cover up things.

Light bulb""

This could actually be fun, if you where to theme cedar points coaster's, what and how would you theme them, new names if required too. And who would you want to sponsor them?

Cheers!

TTD - Durex

But i think some form of multi-looper is most likely, it could be an aqua-trax but there is a significant lack of lake which might make the ride a little less "aqua".

I haven't read back through this topic (at 114 pages it probably has every idea under the sun in it) but elsewhere people have been contemplating a launch of some sort. Bar the fact that Cedar Point already have a rather nice launch coaster, don't they build the winch building first (or at least the foundations). I don't see any foundations in the pictures on pointbuzz.

So yeh, multilooper IMO.

^ Well put, an aquatrax doesn't need water, it's only the name intamin gives a certain style of coaster, the track and vehicle design. The track, so far, is just like the aquatrax style of track, and I have not seen any flat or box track like on the multi-loopers, but maybe their waiting for those until the end??? Or maybe they completely rethought the use of the box and flat track on the multi-looper, and are going with all triangle track now...

If we are taking the "theme" into consideration though, i fail to see how an aquatrax could fit in, maily because the trains/cars are shaped like boats. A multilooper would be easier to theme with more options. With the size of the thing it's quite possible that they are going for a new record, after all we could have a record breaking ride in England now could we!

^^ They could even shape the cars like wagons or anything. Besides, the "theme" you talk about isn't even a factor usually with cedar point. I mean, look how well skyhawk fits into the western themed area.... They don't care. Also, aren't the pumps still there, or am I mistaken? Just because there isn't any water on site now doesn't mean there won't be some added later. Water isn't easy to add, and is usually added after the construction is finished. See for example: Mantis.

I have this feeling that MAVERICK will be a huge letdown. It's probably gonna be less than 100 ft tall, if that, and its probably not going to be something special, just a big letdown to all of the fanboys.

A ride doesn't have to be insanely tall, fast or a record breaker to be a fun coaster. Look at the rides at Disney parks, they are in no way record breakers, but are some of the most fun you can have.

I wasn't saying that the ride wouldn't be fun because it wouldn't be a record breaker. I'm am strongly against record breakers. Some of my favorite coasters don't even clear 150 ft. All I meant to say was that everyone is expecting some huge monstrosity that goes 700 ft in the air and breaks the sound barrier, but they're not going to get it.
