Awesome night POV on Valravn!! Thanks for posting! The front row leaning forward technique on Mean Streak coupled with it possibly closing this year has convinced me to ride it next month. Just how far forward does one need to lean, though?

Just far enough so your back isn't touching the seat. You can use the grab bar on the front of the train to pull yourself forward too. This method turned Mean Streak from "metal trash can rolling down a hill", to extremely fun.

^ this all the way. The layout is still mediocre but riding in the front leaning forward is just really fun and it goes on forever lol

Yes!!! It's still far from the best wooden coaster out there, but when leaning forward, it's fun. And that's what roller coasters are supposed to be.

Blue Streak in the front has godtier ejector airtime, in case anyone was wondering. Seriously that thing hauls.

This.

Also on a 94 degree day like today millennium force hauls too. Sad day because of high winds, Raptor was open maybe an hour after the parked opened along with TTD. Maverick had its normal "down time due to mechanical failure" until like 2:00. Also Valravn was open and closed periodically, and only ran two trains. Last time they were stacking every cycle so I don't know if that's the reason or what, but even the fast lane line must've been close to an hour.

On the train we saw milli e-stoped on the bottom of the lift and the cart part of the way up. Phone I'm guessing? We got stoped on the lift on blue streak because someone had their phone out too. But still Millie made it all worth it. (Great operations from Millie today btw).

I didn't even pay this guy to say that. I promise.

Going to the park Friday and Saturday. I'm assuming FP+ will be a must for a good experience, especially on Saturday. WE're not much for waiting in long lines. We haven't been to the park since Maverick's first year, so we're looking forward to it.

Fridays in my experience haven't been bad at all surprisingly.... but yes, Saturday Fast Lane + is an absolute must.

Trip report from Saturday the 18th...

Good day at the park, but crowded! Driving down the causeway, it took us about 30 minutes just to get into the park! Lots of vehicles.

Went straight to Valravn. We waited about 2 hours. Wanted to sit in the front but the ride op placed us in the last row. Great ride and great addition. Can't beat the 90 degree drop that's for sure! Next we walked to the back of the park because earlier in the day it seems to be more quiet back there. Rode Thunder Canyon and pretty much walked on. Grabbed some lunch at that refreshment stand by the exit. Got chicken tenders, fris and a drink for like 16 bucks. Ouch! Next we did Skyhawk and waited a couple cycles. After we did Mine Ride and waited about 15 to 20 for front row. I love this mini coaster! It's a classic and hope it doesn't go for a while!

Next up we did MS. For one final time maybe? Waited about 20 minutes. Sat in row 2 and it was as expected pretty rough. Hopefully we will see a revision or better coaster in its spot next year. Next we walked over to Magnum and waited for about 25 to 30 minutes. Love this ride and will always be one of my favorite coasters! Love the view of the lake. Next we did a cycle on the train and then went over to MF. We waited probably about an hour and half for MF. Great ride as usual. This line flies by I feel like. Much faster than Valravn.

After MF we did Iron Dragon and waited maybe 15 and then took Sky Ride to the front and left for the day.

Crowded but fun time!

I haven't been since TTD second year of operation. I want to go back so bad

I never knew that but the thought of ever being in the park with the Millennium Force line that short is just a distant fantasy anyway. Lol

I was able to get a few laps in with a non-existent line like that May 19th of this year! Unfortunately, they didn't let us through the exit station gate though... Still, walking into the station on MF is always EPIC, even if it requires a little extra walking! I definitely recommend coming out to CP in May during the middle of the week, because it's SO much better than the summer months!

I was just about to PM him and ask what kind of blackmail photos you're hiding because nobody in their right mind would say that about Mean Streak! I'll try the riding position and report back on how it goes, including a chiropractor bill if needed. Haha

It actually is pretty fun riding in the front row leaning forward. Nothing to write home about but certainly not a bad experience by any means. Very fun.

We went ahead and ordered them. $400 right up the rear. Ouch.

So with FP+, how long should we expect to wait on Saturday? I know Friday will be pretty good for us, but I'm just hoping we still don't have to wait in long lines after dumping a crap load of money.

All FP lines should be under 15-20min. MF and Maverick could be a bit longer depending on the ride op team, but really you have nothing to worry about.

Good thing Mean Streak is pretty, that's the ONLY redeeming quality.

Clearly you didn't ride in the front or lean forward. Seriously, people treat the thing like it's as rough as the Boss and more boring than a kiddie coaster. Mean Streak is fine. Nothing about it is so terrible that it deserves such a bad reputation. Corkscrew is way worse and it's at the same park. Mean Streak may not be a top ten woodie but it's actually really fun. Nothing to write home about but the thing gets ragged on way too much.

If a coaster is only tolerable in one seat, in one position...that sir is a bad coaster. I really hope the RMC rumors are true, off with her head!!

I do agree that Corkscrew is worse than Mean Streak. I've definitely been on worse wooden coasters, like Timber Wolf at WoF. Even the ride I had on Blue Streak on Thursday was almost as rough as Mean Streak.

When we were at the park last week we did the FunPix deal for a day and I definitely think that is worth it. I like how they put special borders on every picture especially the Valravn ones. It's cool how you can see the whole train.

The Boss is way better than Mean Streak. I ride in the front and hold myself forward every time, still dislike it greatly.

Boss is a better ride than Mean Streak but it's rough as hell. Mean Streak is actually one of the smoother woodies I've been on, even when I put my back against the seat a few times it wasn't as bad as Raven, Legend, Judge Roy Scream, heck, I'd say Thunderhead is rougher than Mean Streak.

^^Just wondering, what's your opinion of Magnum?

Magnum has rough spots, but it has redeeming qualities like EJECTOR AIR!! I mean, if I can say one good thing about MS other than its looks was the short wait

The short wait is a good quality. I also liked riding it in the rain.

Magnum is another coaster I think is better in certain seats and in certain positions. The ride is very smooth for an Arrow and the bunny hops are hilarious, but without tightening my seatbelt enough it became slightly painful. For me, Mean Streak had no ill effects. I didn't go back for a second ride but I totally would have. It's still one of the more mediocre coasters at CP but a lot of coasters would be.
