Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

I was there in spirit thanks to the fine folks at Pixelcaster but I saw that on Pointbuzz.

This is why I spend the money on passes to Cedar Point with Six Flags Over Texas 15 min from my front door and fly up a few times a season. My park would never do such a thing, and I just have way more fun at CP knowing they'll do what they can to ensure I have a good time.

TTD must have some serious problems. It appears to not be running again today which will make roughly 3 straight days it has not run for very much. It would be interesting to know if they might be reworking the launch system if it always has problems and continually goes down. Whatever is wrong must be big.

Top Thrill Dragster is just moody. They are not doing anything with the launch system.

From what I've seen, Gemini has been down just as much as TTD has so far this year It's just the "opening process" for Cedar Point. It takes about a month of operation to get fully into motion.

Might be going again middle of next week. Hoping to get a few more spins on Valravn.

^I was wondering the same thing, as I will be going on Memorial Day for the first time in... a long time, maybe ever! I've always heard it was less crowded then, but have been skeptical... I guess I will see for myself in a few days!

I'm very skeptical of that picture since it shows absolutely nothing around it whatsoever. I don't know if it's because I've seen constant B.S. RMC rumors posted or if it's because I love seeing people get disappointed by Mean Streak. It's nothing against you personally, I'm just skeptical.

I know, I realized that after I had already left the park, and I don't live near cedar point so it isn't like I can just go back and get more pictures. I did take a mean streak queue pov for my friend though. It's bad quality but you can see the pink from the flag a little bit above the "play" symbol (for the video) in this screenshot:

I know it isn't much, but it's something. And if anyone here is at CP today they should be able to find it as well.

Edit: There's also this

you can see the order that I took the pictures. And it's right in between pictures that are obviously of mean streak. Doesn't necessarily prove anything, but it's something. (Also notice how the ground from some other pictures taken near that area has the exact same color and texture as the ground from that pic)

The hilarity of the joke is that in order to scope it out you have to ride Mean Streak. Hope you were taking notes on riding position. Lol

Don't have to ride, just queue

This has me a little excited, though RMC's are not a cheap date, so it would be quite an investment a year after Valravn.

It would be great if Mean Streak got RMC'd IMO, but it's possible that this could just be another case of Cedar Point screwing with enthusiasts (like they did with the MF restraints in February).

Yeeeaaahhhh I'm calling B.S. If I were a betting man, I'd put money on saying Tony put that there just to make us freak. I don't think a real construction stake would just blatantly have a manufacturer marker on it. Though the spray painted markers on the footers look legit though...

This wouldn't be the first time that Tony teased us, so I'm pretty doubtful that the stake means much. Plus with Valravn just being installed, we probably won't see another big coaster addition for a few years. The only other thing could be RMC planning track work for next year.

Speaking of Valravn, I made a visit to the park yesterday. Thankfully the weather cleared up last minute, and thanks to a Fast Lane Plus, I avoided a huge line for Valravn. I went from an hour plus wait to a station wait. The only bad thing was that I was assigned smack dab in the middle of the train. I can't really review the ride without riding it a little more. From what I noticed, it was the smoothest coaster in the park, and does a lot for the space it's in.

Is the ride a top ranker for me? Not even close, but it was fun. The drops gave off some good floater air, and the inversions were well placed. Out of all the coasters at the park for me it ranks about right in the middle. It could be better, but I would much rather have Valravn than Good Times Theater. Aesthetically and physically I like the ride.

I think it's much better on the ends of the front and back row. Fun ride in the middle row, fantastic ride in the front and back

^That's exactly why I don't want to be too harsh on it until getting more rides. I was put right in the middle, in what was probably the worst seat. Even that gave a good ride. One of my friends who was sitting on the end said the ride was great through the inversions.
