RCT3Bross Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 To connect the other half....? That's right, stupid from me, this thing is getting bigger than it already is.
Koasterking48 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Cedar Point will hopefully put some signage up on the roof or something of the front gate I would assume
aLFREd_25 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I also did not expect it to be that tall. Even only half finished, it looks awesome. That's going to be a great photo-op standing at the front gates.
Astrojack Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I wonder if they will have a big net to catch loose objects over the enterance.
RCT3Bross Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) Guys talking about the other half it's already standing up it's feet: Looking good. (I'm following this live, So expect some Updates along the way ) *Edit 3:21: Other half goes up in the sky! *Edit 3:25: Keyhole high enough to place! *Edit 3:26: Keyhole in place only needs to secure the element! Went fast. Edited January 29, 2013 by RCT3Bross
JRHcoasterki Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 They are really speeding along! Looks great!
Zingoman Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I wonder if they will have a big net to catch loose objects over the enterance. I'm pretty sure a net won't be necessary since there will be a nice solid roof under the whole element that guests will be under. A net would seem redundant.
RCT3Bross Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Already on his place that's a nice looking element : It's less quality of the other because this is a screenshot.
RCT3Bross Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 ^ Not to ruin your party or anything, but look at your webcam time and mine last. It's already placed and they're securing it at the moment.

RCT3Bross Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 For those who prefer the front view: Looks even better from this side.
garbanian Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Just an FYI, seeing more and more CP is making me more and more excited. I'll be heading to CP most mondays of the season with a plat pass. If anyone is looking to tag along, let me know and we can work something out for going. I typically do full days there, open to close, or midday to close.
Koasterking48 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Well looks like I won't be there May 12th... Oh well I think I can work around the Coastermania weekend now
zachclarke2 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks to GateKeeper, the thrills will definitely start at the gate this summer! From their Facebook about 20 minutes ago.
XYZ Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 It looks great! I like the futuristic look to it.
Koasterking48 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Me gusta mucho!!! Can't wait for the second to go up, and then the track!
_IntaMAN_ Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I can't wait to see how they will put the track through the keyhole! Certainly will be interesting to watch I'm so glad CP is on my list of out-of-state parks that I will visit this year. This beast just looks phenomenal.
christianscoasters Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 ^My guess is that they'll get all of the necessary ropes/attachments onto the track piece like normal, then they will "slide" it through the gap you see between the two pieces of the keyhole.

Coaster Curt Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 The facebook comments are really bringing out the smart ones.
christianscoasters Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 ^I'm dying at those. Absolutely hilarious. I think what everyone fails to remember is that this picture doesn't say if the keyhole is completely constructed or not. For all we know, they could just be lining it up to put it into place. The picture is taken from kind of an awkward angle to answer that question.
Ohiocoasterman Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 In case anyone missed it today here is a short time lapse video!
azza29 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 ^^^Some of the comments on that pic are gold. Is there anything funnier than an argument between people who are both clueless and opinionated?
