Bolliger&Mabillard Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 That's what Knott's will lokk like in about 15 years...
coolhandluke Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 ^^That park's in Sweden, where people aren't idiots. Regarding Wildcat, I wouldn't mind either way if it gets removed for a future project. It's never a must-ride for me on my visits, but it never makes me wish they were doing something more productive with its land, unlike the northern tip of the park. It just sits there quietly in its corner, plodding away.
paiging_jen Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 ^^That park's in Sweden, where people aren't idiots. QFT
coastermaniac Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Regarding Wildcat, I wouldn't mind either way if it gets removed for a future project. It's never a must-ride for me on my visits I agree, many times when I go to Cedar Point I don't even glance at it when I pass by it. However, I did ride it this past Wednesday and it still is a fun, neat, little coaster.
coasterfreak101 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 We've been three times, and still haven't ridden it. We just can't justify waiting in line for it, especially when there's a random one in Frederick less than an hour away from us. And the line moves so very slow. We're kind of hoping it goes, just so we don't feel bad for skipping it anymore!
jamesdillaman Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 To John Peck, who said there isn't room for a spinner where Wildcat is, have you seen the model at the Mall of America? It doesn't take up much space at all. I'm sure with minimal modifications they could squeeze something similar in there...
mightbeawannabe Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 ^Or even rides like Galaxy Orbiter in Edmonton, or all the ones in the Middle East that are built into other shopping malls-they really went out of their way to get another rides crammed into those spaces, regardless what they had to work with.
coasterlover420 Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Sorry these are a little old, but working at cp=no internet access... These are the purple train getting added to the track (still not put together/waiting on parts) and the box the catchcar was sent to Europe in...enjoy. Front Over the fence! Not many people are aware the catchcar is nearly 25 feet long!
coastermaniac Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Cedar Point tends to store a lot of coaster cars in the middle of Mean Streak, I'm guessing to work on them. When I went to the park on Memorial Day as well as June 8th, I noticed that in the middle of the coaster there was a car that looked just like one of Corkscrew's cars but it was yellow with a hint of purple (Corkscrew's train colors are red, white, and blue); I knew it wasn't from that coaster. I thought for a second and I realized that it could very well be from The Double Loop from Geauga Lake because its coaster cars were the same color. I'm not sure if it's still there but can anyone comfirm this?
Skycoastin Steve Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 ^Yes, I'm pretty sure those are the Double Loop trains. The 5th and 6th Gemini trains are also in there.
AndrewRnR Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Spare parts for Corkscrew or the other Arrow coasters.
PhantomNick Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Stumbled across this video of CP's Windseeker testing at night and thought I'd share it here. The lighting package on this thing looks pretty stunning! Just wow!! Hopefully testing will wrap up soon and it will open up....
coastermaniac Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Spare parts for Corkscrew or the other Arrow coasters. I guess that makes sense.
Skycoastin Steve Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 ^^That looks awesome! I'm really hoping this thing is open by the end of the month, when I'll be there.
Gigalyte Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 After watching that I am now Hypnotized and under TPRs control lol That is a impressive light package
Drachen77 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Windseeker looks amazing! People should be able to see that for miles.
Thom25 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Thanks for the video - Windseeker looks amazing. I guess we now know why CF went with steel arms over chains.
DJeXeL Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Pretty impressive. Can't wait to ride KBF's Windseeker.
thepoint4life23 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 I was at the park Sunday. it was doing what looked like full testing all day. should be opening soon. does any one no if mavrick got a new train. i saw what looked like a white or light sliver train and i didnt think that was there last year?
Coaster Cow Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Those lights just made the ride for me. I now feel like it fits in that part of the park.
Skycoastin Steve Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 ^^Maverick has had a silver train since day 1, that's probably the one you saw.
coasternut Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 The lights look a lot more exciting than the ride! Amen brother, and hallelujah! That's why I call it "breaking wind."
Skycoastin Steve Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Apparently there are people riding Windseeker tonight, I just had a couple friends on facebook post about it! EDIT: And I just got confirmation via text message, it's open!
