bgwfreak Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I think it's in China. http://www.rcdb.com/id3141.htm Start driving. Looks awesome! If only Six Flags themed the S:UF's that much!
SharkTums Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Wow, awesome! My parents are going to China next month and are going to do some research for our TPR Trip there in the future!
ECZenith Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Coming from someone who actually likes SUF... I can't believe how awesomely themed an already "good" ride is. I had heard about this park, and heard they were going to theme their B&M but this quality is unexpected. Anyone know the name of the coaster?
Erik Johnson Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Wow, awesome! My parents are going to China next month and are going to do some research for our TPR Trip there in the future! Nice, what parts are they going to? Terrible picture, but you get the idea. Wow, that was 10 years ago now.
viking86 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 HOLY CRAP thats amazing! I love the theming around Superman, errr, whatever the name is. Especially that picture with all the lights. It looks spooky!
okinawaboy11 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Psh, I wouldn't care if it was a Superman clone, That theming kicks ass.
sixflagsmagicmountain Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 That is so freakin awesome!!! I would love to see theming like that here in the U.S.
ECZenith Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Everest, IOA-pretty much the same quality, no? EDIT: To answer my own question... the name of the ride is and I quote... Shui Jing Shen Yi "The Crystal Wings" If you find any more photos of this coaster, especially in action, please post them here. I love the colors!
Shockwave Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Woah!!! That looks incredible. I didn't think they'd make that much effort into the theming, but that mountain castle makes an ordinary ride look very, very good.
St.LouisBOI Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 At first glance, it looked like a rendering. My god, it's like a dream.
coasterguy618 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I take back about what I said about that coaster in another thread. That is the best themeing IMO on a coaster. It looks a little bigger than an average superman clone. Is it?
noyzz Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I wish we had more theme rides like that here in the states.....I know Disney and IOA...but I think the other theme parks can hook it up!
LOVE SFKK Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 ITs like a........................MAGIC MOUNTIAN..........but better............................i just hope that the park doesnt go bankrupt cuz that looks like it cost some $$$$$$$$$$
ECZenith Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Coasterguy, it appears the ride is staggered up higher than SUF, making the ride taller but the lift the same height from the station.
DerekRx Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I'm not a big fan of the flying coasters, but this one looks really nice. Here's to hoping I can get a visa sometime soon to go there! Oh, and Erik, is that the SAME jean jacket you're still wearing to this day!?
tinflowers Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Impressive, yes. Thats what a good theme park is all about. Immersion into an impressive would out from the ordinary of your everyday drag.
stormrider Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 The only thing that ruins it is what looks like smog running in . . . or that could be the fog, I don't know When the Olympics run by, they should be pretty busy. What I really like about the theming is that it really does show what a difference it makes when changing colors and taking a clone design. http://p2.rcdb.com/picmax/formosan-aboriginal-culture-village/mayan-adventure8.jpg The ride can look unique even though it is a clone.
Jon Sabo Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 It certainly is a visual orgasm for the eyes. I love that theming. Let's just hope the park is successful as an earlier poster mentioned.
stormrider Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 It should be, I remember seeing on the plans for the park that it is the centerpiece to a master planned community. So, everyday, when the residents are bored, they can go visit the park. Sounds pretty fun.
DailyBugle_JL Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Our Superman was the best for being placed on a hillside and having "tunnels". This chinese version makes ares look shottier than it already is.
