Aaronkv
Wow, looks like they'll need to order some more wood. At least it was Isolated at the highest point, could've spread fast if it started at ground level somehow. Intimidator305
Wow, between the fire and just this being a Six Flags, Twisted Colossus will be lucky to open by Labor Day next season

VCXfreak
The dumb news anchor on kcal at the top of the hour was asking the guy on the phone if the ride was struck by lighting, she also said it closed down to be converted to a "3D" coaster  HAHA, my brother said the same thing too. Damn Reporters!
ProwlerPrey
Wow. I'm curious as to what exactly caused it. Hopefully it wont be too much of an issue for RMC as they build the new ride.

RCT3Bross
First thing that came to mind was a special breakdown of the ride. But I'm sure this is legit as accidental fire. Guess Twisted Colossus is too hot for regular Colossus.
Intimidator305
For those of you all not familiar with the park, no worries, it actually did not burn any trees... The area looked that shitty before.

RyanTPM
I'm guessing this will have an effect on construction? RMC will now have to replace the wood in that section before adding topper track.
Mater
Good, that wood was gross anyway.

PeoplemoverMatt
I'm guessing this will have an effect on construction? RMC will now have to replace the wood in that section before adding topper track. Â Â That whole part of the lift hill was going to need to be replaced anyway to make the lift hill taller and the drop steeper as planned. The question will be how much of an impact this will be found to have on the integrity of the lift hill structure as a whole, and how well it can now support the new layout. AllenA07
There is one picture that makes it look like there is some damage to the lower part of the ride. Is that the case or am I seeing derbies that collapsed from the top of the ride.
RyanTPM
^^Yes,but usually they just build on top of the existing structure. Not replace the whole thing.
BoulderDash
Wow they have really made a mess of this classic coaster.

In any case, I'm sure RMC is already working on a "Plan B."
coasterlvr
time to give me the 200 footer i wanted. Â seriously though, hope it doesn't slow down construction too much. guys should be able to come in and frame that back up in no time.

VF15
Ouch. That stinks, but I don't think that it will be too big of a problem for Twisted Colossus construction. They'll probably be able to replace the wood that was destroyed. Â Also, what is it with RMCs and fire? Goliath's (SFGAm) station fire and now this... RCT3Bross
I'm confused on how this could happen, I mean a fire a top of the lift hill that doesn't just happen. Â I'm no local so I was just wondering did this happen during openings hours? Again no Local so I have no idea how late it is over there. RyanTPM
^The construction crew may have been working up there as said. And then maybe a blowtorch caught the wood.
