TyRush
Is the loop more of an actual circle or the "tear drop"/oval shape. Cant really tell from pictures
VCXfreak
Hey crew, i was at the Mountain yesterday 4/10/2013 and took a few shots of Full Yolo Throttle. It is almost complete and when i was there i was hearing a July opening rumor. Not i don't know how true that is. Â The park was perfect, got on most of the rides multiple times and even decided to ride Green Lantern. I was so happy to get off that ride and so were my nutts as they were being smash in my boardshorts. Being 6'2 and 225 pounds is not a good combo for that ride but we got 4 spins out of the it since the 2 people in back of me where 2 twinks. Walking the park by myself was great. I got to see a lot and i my mind thinking of stuff i could paint, remove and add if i owned the park. Â Here are the pictures i snapped with my phone. Enjoy! Vertical dive into the brakes..... Brake Run Some serious g's going into that right bank turn Lifting launch track Ball Crusher GL Almost empty RR train Finally...... empires
It looks pretty "circular" to me. I really think the loop is going to be really intense and fun, especially when comparing it to a coaster like montezumas which I always thought had a pretty intense loop. Also do you guys think the launch will be more intense or a gradual build up into the loop?
CoasterPrince
Stunning coaster element! Can't wait to see test runs!

I would assume so But its MM, can you use intense as a word to describe one of their coasters?
Arkhamar
Great pics there VCXfreak! Your first pic of the drop back to the station looks near vertical. Epic!
empires
I'd say X2 is up there with the best of them as far as intensity goes

Dont think Magic Mountain is a park that is afraid of intense ride elements
coasterfreak101
But its MM, can you use intense as a word to describe one of their coasters? Â I'd use it to describe X2, Tatsu, and Batman at the least, absolutely.

VCXfreak
Thanks Arkhamar, yes it is! The launch track is short and i am sure will be forceful.........!
CpBluestreakCp
That is one big loop! This ride should pull some serious g's though, that I'm hoping. And the drop, wow, steeper than I expected as well. Â Still hoping I make it out to Cali to ride this thing!
rcjp
^I also wasn't expecting the drop to be that steep. It would be even better if the brakes didn't go up the track that much. Still, hoping for a great ride and that is one heck of a loop indeed. YOLO!
Sir Clinksalot
I was also pretty shocked that the drop was as steep as it is. Pleasantly shocked. Â I was also glad to see that the brakes didn't start until about 1/2 way down. I was worried we'd get "Kingda Ka'd" but I think there will be quite a nice little pop of airtime coming down the final drop. I can't really think of any coaster that has it's highest drop be right into the final brakes though. I guess TTD?
CanadaCoasterKid
I'm gonna be there Monday April 22nd. I can't wait for that day. It's gonna be so dead. Â I hope the same for the day after, It's the only day I can go this year.
necoastergp
Too bad, leaving it with that missing piece would be way more YOLO. Â Nice, haha! Â This coaster is coming together nicely, I like the steep drop to finish looks like fun start to finish. YOLO.
EastCoastn07
Looks really cool and fun, it's gonna be weird stopping mid way through a drop. This has gotta be the first drop in the world with brakes in the middle of its drop! Â Magnetic brakes don't really stop the train as abrupt as people think. When the train hits the first set of mag brakes, it's still going to be going at a decent velocity, but slowing down at a gradual rate. If not, there wouldn't be as many sets of brakes on the slowdown as there is!
robbalvey
Today's YOLOcoaster "loop topping off" update comes from David "iloverides" and Gregg "sirclinksalot" - Thanks guys for being at the media event today! Â Now some photos.... Today was the loop topping off ceremony for Full Throttle! AKA YOLOOP! Here is one side of the YOLOOP... And here is the other... Together they will be welded in holy matrimony by this chuck of metal right here. Here's what it looked like when we arrived on the scene. They spelled "YOLOcoaster" wrong. There goes that hunk of metal! It's making it's way to the top...reminding everyone of it's message. It's getting there... these things take time, you know? Did you know this piece of steel weighs more than your average Toyota Yaris? Oh, no! It looks like the crane is in the way! Drama!!! How are they every going to get those two pieces to meet??? Whew! Thankfully YOLOcoaster track as the ability to pass through solid objects, so that crane was not an issue. Hey! Crane guy! What are you drinking on the job??? It goes up here! As the worker guy gets ready to position the track he thinks to himself "Hmmm.... leaving it with that missing piece would be way more YOLO."* Â *Note - this was actually a quote from Wes, but we liked it, so we worked it into the report. Almost there! Guy on radio to the other guy "Hey man...is your piece matching up? Mine is like 5 inches off..." Guy says back "Yeah, man, it fits, you just gotta blow on it and then put the cartridge back in...then it should work." This is it...the final moments! Tension is building! YOLOOP is in place now! "Just gotta tighten things up a bit..." Bolts are in place... "IT'S HAMMER TIME!!!!" "All done, time to head back down!" And here it is! YOLOcoaster's loop topped off!!! HOORAY!!!! And instead of fireworks to celebrate.... instead of champagne and a heard of monkeys, we have something even BETTER!!! Yes!!! It is.... ...David wearing a hard hat! YAY!!!!! Oh, and here's track piece S69. That stands for "Sexy 69" (No, it really does! We wouldn't make this stuff up!) So now that YOLOOP is done, let's take a quick look around the park... They have planted stuff to make the park look pretty. M&M Stairs are back... OMG! It's the BACKSIDE of YOLOOP!!! And the exact same picture of the backside of YOLOOP, except 2 feet to the right! Some twisty stuff. Side angle of YOLOOP. And the final shot of the day! Thanks to David and Gregg for the pics! Until next time... Â YOLO!!!!
