  1. Well... I'd hands down give it to Kingda Ka. That's the only ride I've been on that goes from zero to "oh holy sh*t I'm gonna die!"
  2. I would also like to add that those classes will do nothing to prepare you for college. Feel any better now?
  3. ^ Yeah, Jersey schools always went back the first week of September as well.
  4. Wow... the entertainment value of this thread is much more than I had anticipated. Seriously people... If you see spam, just let it sit on the board and die on it's own. There are plenty of mods here that don't need PM's or e-mails from 50 people that will point out what they would have found when they get on here and do a two second scan of forum topics.
  5. WTF!? Why would they start school back up on a Friday? It's bad enough to start school back up after summer recess. They couldn't just wait till Monday to start class? On a side note, my school had Saturday school. Talk about a bummer
  6. NEVER!!!! Nanny-nanny boo-boo. Unless I go back for my master's that is.
  7. There is only one game that matters... Dallas at Philadelphia on October 8th. Oh, video games... uhh.... DDR SuperNOVA for PS2... I guess.
  8. I dont understand that article at all. I thought E3 was in a league of it's own for all attention and media coverage it gets. Whatever. I guess the industry feels it can fair better by having smaller trade shows that are not joint ventures by many companies. Whatever. Whatever. Well, I used to look forward to E3 each year, I guess not anymore. But nothing is etched in stone yet.
  9. The answer for now is, no. Tens of Millions of people ride the most of extreme rides each year and walk off with no problems what-so-ever. Rides will not change as long as healthy people don't drop dead on any of these rides. All these, or most that I know of, deaths so far were from pre-existing conditions. Liability will never be a concern from these deaths so far since it will never be a parks responsibility to make sure everyone is in perfect health who walks through their doors... er, metal detectors. But people will sue anyway.
  10. Terell Owens and his agent. Ok, they are not Hollywood stars. But I'm from the Philly metro area so it is in my DNA to despise these 2 forever. Others I dislike: Star Jones: Everything Jerry Seinfeld: Was a 32 year old dating a 16 year old? Sorry, thats a pedophile Mary Elizabeth Masterantonio: Simply for the fact that she was cast as this rugged deep sea fishing boat captian that scored the big loads of fish and pissed off George Clooney in The Perfect Storm. Val Kilmer: I hate that scene in Top Gun where Maverick is bragging about getting Jester and Val's dumb arse chimes in with "No, it doesn't count Maverick... You targeted him below the heartdeck!" Who the F**k asked you Iceman! Shut your F**king tattle tail arse up! Take this quarter and go out and call someone who gives a sh*t. Thats what Tom Cruise should have said anyway. I pretty sure that was the original lines for that scene.
  11. I smell strict government legislation coming if people keep dropping dead at this pace. And to those who say "Know your pre-existing heart coditions before you ride" is much easier said than done. A lot of these people that dropped dead on coasters looked and felt as healthy as you or I. People who look and feel healthy don't have echo-cardiograms or other similar tests done for the hell of it. Myself being an example of unknown medical condition: I found I had a degenerative spinal condition that was discovered when I had an unrelated hip problem checked out. My back felt and looked fine before this was discovered but unknowing to me my spinal column discs were deteriorating and developing spurs. That was total news to me. It's just going to be a sad result that people who have unknowing illness' will keep dying like this.
  12. ^ Good point and totally true. But I will never forget the first time I rode El Toro was in the back row and oh my F'ing god, did that element blow my mind like no other coaster had before. I will always remember that first time like the first time I had... I mean, the first time I rode a bike. Edit: Oops, I thought you were talking about my El Toro point. The point you made still stands valid towards El Toro though.
  13. I would list pretzel loop as the most intense but I am going with the drop on El Toro that goes into Rolling Thunder's infield. Now, the pretzel loop is more intense elementally (is that a word?). I see a ride with a pretzel loop and I know I'm going to get one hell of a rush on that element. From there, the psychological impact of any surprise is near gone after seeing the ride with a pretzel loop. El Toro's drop into Rolling Thunders infield section on the other hand is completely out of sight of anyone waiting to go on the ride and you cant get a clear visual of it from anywhere else other than those riding on Rolling Thunder. It is a TOTAL surprise. And that surprise element makes it that much more thrilling. Rides like Ka and TTD pack quite a punch on their launch but their is very little surprise as riders get to see it up close for hours on end while waiting to get on them.
  14. ^ Uhh... yeah. When you test positive you aren't accussing, you are stating a fact. Lance was accused. This jabroni, Floyd Landis, was caught red handed. No French conspiracy there.
  15. Do people who blood-dope realize that will get detected in the tests after the conclusion of the race? Is it asking too much to stay clean? And he obvioulsy must have been doping his blood with, white blood cells or testosterone or whatever, after the race began as he would have been kicked out with the others that tested positive before day 1 of the race. This guy went from a remarkable accomplishment story to a no-good cheater in days. Now what happens? The second place guy gets the title after all the celebrations are already over? What a joke. This guy ruined what should have been a great day for a deserving winner.
  16. That's the Backstreet Boys, not N'Sync Edit: Wait, I actually know this!? Actually, it is N'sync, haha. YES!! That means I am straight! I was getting worried for a sec. there.
  17. Bahhh... haaa... haa.... ha!!! Avril!? That is so lame!! Oh, um... Christina Aguilera for me. and I may own a Britany Spears album... or two. My other obsession is Sirius satellite radio and mainly Howard Stern's show. Plus I'm a news geek and love all those foreign brodcast news channels on Sirius. News Netherlands rules!!
  18. That's the Backstreet Boys, not N'Sync Edit: Wait, I actually know this!?
  19. ^ Actually, I kinda do. < Hasn't flown in years V Is a member of the "mile high club"
  20. ^ I haven't and for good reason... there is currently major Sync Issues and that has kept me from giving the game a go until Konami get's this issue fixed. I've heard it is very frustrating to play with the current sync from people that I have talked to that have played it. Plus, many of those that have palyed it have adjusted their timing and are now having difficulty playing on the machines that have been fixed.
  21. ^ I totally agree. Cobra rolls are good for "look" and thats about it. I remember the first time I saw a B&M Cobra roll and said, holy sh*t that looks killer! Then I rode it and and was like... That's it? The Chiller: Robin has a cobra-type roll and it feels intense. But on regular coasters that aren't shot out of a cannon like Chiller they are just, "ehh".
  22. Though I've rode El Toro 30+ times... my favorite wooden coaster drop was Hercules at Dorney Park. That drop was awesome and was the height record breaker when it first came out. Plus it was a rough as all hell coaster and I love that.
  23. I went with zero-G over pretzel loop because zero-g's are found on decent coasters. Pretzel loops, while a truly awesome thrill, are mainly attached to flying coasters that SUCK like the various Superman flyers. If they could incorporate the pretzel loop on a decent coaster with speed and not wait 2 plus hours to get on every time, then I will definately say the pretzel loop is supreme.
