Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Uhh... the Aquatrax in your post is a launch coaster . I would also expect a new aquatrax at Cedar Point (IF thats what it is) to be a launched aquatrax as well. -

If it is dueling then they haven't gotten the other different color track yet or it may be all red. Kind of odd... but different if it was a dueling steel coaster and all the track was the same color. I'm holding out all my guesses as I have about 8 concepts/style/mechanics of... that I could possibly narrow this coaster down to. It looks to be one cool ride regardless of what type of coaster it ends up being. -
Wow. Thats a bummer that that park will close a month early. Fright Fest here at Great Adventure draws crowds similar to July sometimes even more people than peak summer days. I figured that Fright Fest drew crowds in all their parks. Guess not. Alot of those employees will be hitting the want ads a month sooner than expected.

Does Anyone Feel This Way (Six Flags)
TheArchfiend replied to adc9787's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, I've gone to Six Flags Great Adventure since I was 6 and now I'm 28. I have so many great (no pun intended) memories from that park. The problem with that is that very few of my great or even good memories are from recent years. Sure I love the new coasters but the ratio of a total day of fun in the 80s and 90s compared to the last several years is minimal. I just dont have fun there like I used to. Like I should. If anything, I keep finding more things that I dislike about the park and the experience of going there every time I visit. So... I honestly would not care too awful much if the park shut down and/or the company went belly-up. It's if the park and franchise goes belly-up AFTER they really REALLY turn things around and give a better park and expeirience that I would really be upset over. -
Now THAT would rule! I love the fact that they are willing to combine villians in this next installment rather than have the Joker in this one then the Penguin in the next. This concept got totally half-assed with the Penguin and Catwoman combo in Batman Returns. Hell, Catwoman was more of a good guy than the villian she was supposed to be from the comic book storyline. If thats the case... thousands upon thousands flocked out that summer to hear that one instrument play and made that movie one hell of a blockbuster. I know I sure didn't pay to see Michael Keaton. I totally agree when critics call that role iconic for the fact that it was one of the greatest adaptations of a fictional comic book character villian. Him and Lex Luther are the two standouts in my mind. I feel Nicholson has won that onscreen icon battle over Spacey and Hackman both of which are Lex Luther roles that I loved to watch.

Uhhh.... If I need to answer that you just don't know bro. Nicholson was a lot more than Nicholson in that movie. He gave a performance that was way beyond what anyone expected out of him. He asked for a bagillion dollars if they wanted him in that role and he gave a peromance that won't soon be forgotten. Except you. Not noteworthy? Wow, man. Wow. That was the same Nicholson in The Shinning? One Flew Over the Cooco's Nest? etc... No way man. That was one of the most iconic performances of a single character of fiction and many top names in Hollywood will tell you just that. If you don't like the movie or Nicholson, don't player hate. Nicholson has always been refered to as iconic for that performance of the Joker by actors, directors and critics alike. I swear you are the first person that I have ever heard that has put that in dispute. The fact that you used not "noteworthy" just blows my mind. I am not trying to say Nicholoson's portrayal of the Joker was the greatest thing ever on screen but I think you are being way to harsh to make it sound like some throw away role when it was nothing even close to that.
-
I think the Heath Ledger casting was a mistake. He has too much of an iconic performance to live up to from Burton's version of the Joker. Plus I don't see him playing the role of villian, let alone a villian among all villians in the Joker. I'd of cast Jack Black as a more conving Joker character then Heath Ledger. Heath is a great actor, but I just don't see "it" in this role. You need a lot of "it" to pull off what people are expecting out of the Joker in this movie.

Need to know something about Arkansas
TheArchfiend replied to the sound's topic in Random, Random, Random
I heard the University of Arkansas' library burnt to the ground. Both books were destroyed. The really sad part is that one of them wasn't completely colored in yet. That's actually a University of Mississippi joke but I changed it to fit in better here I got a ton of these that one of my History professor's used to tell all the time in college. He had no problem poking fun of his own as he was a self respecting Southna'. -
Eh... I actually thought the Donkey head was a human head facing to the west towards a computer monitor. Anyone else see that? That was a donkey head, right?

^ Yeah, they will more than likely test the whole consumption of Menots and coke theory. My guess is that Adam will be blown to bits while Jamie laughs.

You know what Arkansas has? Rock farms. Do you guys know what rock farms sell? That's right. Rocks. I kid you not. I was Arkansas one time and I saw tables with rocks on them in front of some beat up house. In the front lawn was a sign that said "Rock Farm". The only more ridiculous thing than that is that there were actual people there buying rocks from said farm. I got a picture of it somewhere that I'll dig up and scan. Oh Arkasas... you so silly. -

WOW!! That was a Six Flags park!? It looked so clean and maintained in every way, shape and form. Nice park. I hope the park still looks this good this year and is well kept for years to come unlike some Six Flags parks. I so gotta go there. -

Son of a B-otch! The AC is broke in our office today. You have got to be kidding me. I think I may burst into flames any second now.

Lightning protector? Like what? A forcefield? I assume it got struck by lightning because it was made out of metal and lightning strikes big tall metal objects all the time. It probably had a faulty ground somewhere and the thing blew some circuitry. That or the heat from the bolt melted something that lead to the breakdown.
