  1. I remember I had to do one of these back in elementary school. What grade are you in? It would help us give you ideas based on how technical/difficult you want to be. Mine was in grade 8 and I did plants growing under a light bulb vs plants grown in sunlight
  2. Someone posted this on facebook and it has me cracking up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hk-ru57A-c A girl, too busy texting to look where she was going, fell into an open manhole while city workers were getting the cones. The girl claims that, had the cones been placed by the hole, she wouldn't have fallen in. I wonder what her or her mother would say if she had been texting and crossed a busy intersection on a red light.
  3. While he could have been denying it to keep the surprise, in an interview, Chris Colfer said that they scrapped the Kurt gets a jock boyfriend story for now.
  4. My teeth. I got two "fangs" that have grown on top of my upper gum over my top teeth. Pulling them out would ruin the shape of my face (so says the Dentist) and my only option is to pull out the teeth underneath them, let gravity do it's work, and then get braces. I hate smiling because of them. I've already told people to expect me to look miserable in my grad photos this year.
  5. I've jumped out of a plane at 12,500ft and I still would not do this. The fact that they're free climbing makes it that much more scarier. I'd probably ask for a parachute for the way down since there's no way I'd be able to go back.
  6. I tried to teach myself Rhino last year, but could never get the hang of it. That being said, that looks amazing. Great work, seriously. I think I might try something like this with NX 7.5 this year.
  7. I was dying to try the butter, but I only made one trip to the EX this year compared to my usual two or three. Next year I'll just have to try the butter and the bacon.
  8. Majoring in Mechanical Engineering at UOIT (University of Ontario Institute of Technology)
  9. Some random photo highlights from my recent trip. Got to finally ride Speed at the Sahara. Got the all day pass and rode it 3 times; great ride. Saw the Viva Elvis show at Aria. Very different from the other Cirque shows I've seen, but I was really impressed. Ate at Pinks for the first time. Planet Hollywood Dog was awesome...Polish sausage with fried onions, mushrooms, cheese, and bacon. Got to go on stage with Recycled Percussion for answering a trivia question right. Lying by the Wynn pool reading my Scott Pilgrim books and drinking $15 frozen drinks is probably one of my new favorite ways to spend part of my day. And probably best of all: We didn't have to pay for our room at the Wynn Can't wait for next year. View of the Wynn golf course from our room Waterfall by Pizza Place's patio French toast stuffed with strawberries and cream cheese, dipped in custard and then deep fried. Served at TI Wynn pool Recycled Percussion My instrument at Recycled Percussion (everyone gets a drum stick and some kind of "instrument" when they walk in) Me and Recycled Percussion
  10. I wonder if I could convince my school to buy it and assemble it on campus for the engineering students to study physics and structures....
  11. Leaving for Vegas on Saturday morning with my parents and aunt for our now annual trip...although this year there's only 4 of us going compared to the 10 last year. We're staying at the Wynn and seeing Viva Elvis our first night there. On the 30th (last night there) I'll be seeing Recycled Percussion's first show at Club 54 at MGM from VIP Row A seats 1 and 2.
  12. My biggest complaint about the ride is it's placement in the park...the thing is going to completely dwarf Wonder Mountain. The two current tallest rides at the park are located off to either side of the mountain and Vortex doesn't crest the top. To me, the ride will be a blemish on the view when you enter the park.
  13. I really hope two parks in the same state don't receive the same ride with the same name.
  14. One of the best movies I have seen.
  15. Not necessarily. Unless all parks are having a simultaneous announcement, such as a CF big wig making it via telecast to all parks) then I imagine each announcement is done individually. Even it was some simulcast thing, the announcement could always go along the lines of "In 2011, Cedar Point and Knotts Berry Farm will both be introducing Stratosoar, the tallest swing ride on Earth. And for a very special announcement, Canada's Wonderland, our most attended park, will be receiving such and such."
  16. 1. Finish school 2. Pay off outrageous student debts 3. Build a house/cottage in Northern Ontario with an observatory 4. Build or buy a house with a very large backyard in the suburbs and build a the FlowRider model that comes with the concrete deck and lazy river in my backyard 5. Put what's left in the bank and live off the interest.
  17. Unfortunately there will always be human error at any ride, no matter how trained the operator is. All it takes is something like a bad night's sleep, or not enough sleep, for an operator to lose sight of what's happening for a split second during their shift. There's no way to stop these things from happening (you can't exactly set a bed time for your employees), but you can install better failsafe devices that could stop anyone from getting hurt should there be some kind of human error.
  18. So wouldn't this mean coaster manufacturers "plagiarize" each other all the time and they should be suing each other anytime one of them unveils a new "prototype"?
  19. The comments under the picture on their facebook page are just...wow... Several users claiming "I'm so high" And one claiming it's going to be a stratacoaster but not a stratacoaster...
  20. I stopped reading after the first page of "suggestions." Coaster building like NoLimits? Play NoLimits; RCT has always been more about the parks then the coasters. Personally, I'd love building the parks like RCT2, but being able to switch to a 3D view like RCT3
  21. With the premier trailer of Bioshock Infinite (Bioshock 3) just having been released, I figure this is a decent time for all fans of the series to talk about the game, what to expect, etc etc... For those who haven't seen it, here's the trailer Personally, I'm not entirely thrilled about leaving Rapture, but there was only so much they could do in the city before it all just collapsed. I really want to get a look at this new Big Daddy, and hopefully there's something with Big Daddy/Little Sisters in this game.
  22. Its hard to just pick one (or even a few) movie that I consider my favorite. But there are movies I can watch over and over and still love them. Number 1 being V for Vendetta. Others include: The Hangover Jurassic Park Any Harry Potter movie (although Goblet of Fire is my fave) Any Pixar film Most Disney films Dark Knight And as for movies that people love that I absolutely hate...2001 A Space Odyssey.
  23. Jays have some great young talent right now. Give them some time to grow and we may see a playoff run in the future...although it doesn't look that way after the 10-1 loss to the Red Sox today.
  24. I think he's trying to say he doesn't want it changed. Shame it's going to be closed when I visit at the beginning of September, I was hoping to ride it one last time before it got revamped.
