  1. The sequel to Arkham Asylum has been given a name! Arkham City Just over a year to wait and I'm tempted to go pre-order it now.
  2. Finally beat the damn Minotaur in God of War (I took an extended break) and got to the Cliffs of Madness. I'm at the fight scene where you get ambushed in cave by two large ogres and tons of smaller guys. Crappy thing is I have no health and no magic, and the only chest in the cave is across from the entrance and the monsters always pull me away from it when I try to open.
  3. Hockey (Obviously...I'm Canadian) - Go Sens! Baseball - Go Jays! And sometimes Football, but only during the playoffs.
  4. According to an interview I saw that story line might be on hold. Am I the only one wondering why Glee was at Comic Con? I mean, when I think of that event I think of Star Wars, Marvel, DC, video games, etc, not Glee. It's not even like Glee has any comic book elements in it, or even characters that seem to be into comics (like Big Bang Theory). I'm not complaining, I just felt like they were kinda like the outcasts of the convention.
  5. I remember reading awhile back about a test program Disney was doing with interactive maps and the Nintendo DS at Magic Kingdom. I was wondering if anyone knows if they dropped it, or if it is available? I'm heading to WDW for a short weekend getaway before school starts and was kinda hoping I could give this a try.
  6. I originally thought that maybe an op or someone pressed the pedal before the ride started, but the only problem I see with that is getting pulled up the first hill in reverse. If the restraints weren't locked at that time, the passengers would have known - all your weight is pressed up against those restraints on such a steep incline. Although the idea of a passenger reaching back and pulling the pedal is entirely plausible.
  7. SOMEONE WITH REASON!!! Hell, I didn't think people were still capable of this. Well, until lawyers change his mind anyway. And those comments will be used against him in court! Somewhere a lawyer is wincing. But yes, someone with reason for sure. This is Canada, where you can't sue someone for just anything. Considering nobody was hurt and these comments were said, then (if this does go to court), the family will probably get nothing.
  8. I'll play games like Guess your Age or Weight at Cedar Point because I always have a 2 for 1 coupon when I go, so a friend and I will split the cost. I'll also play the roller ball racing games at the CNE because they one that only costs a dollar and aren't rigged. Best bet is to just bribe the workers. Once at the CNE I played the Mr. Frog game and my girlfriend offered the kid working it some Tiny Tom donuts for an extra frog. When one of my frogs landed half in the lillypad, we offered him somewhere and had him count it as a win.
  9. Like many people here I went through most of elementary school, all of high school and entered university with the dream of designing coasters, but I've come to realize it's a lot easier said than done. To get into any engineering job you are going to have to be smart, determined, and very hard working. Universities tend to weed plenty of students out in the first and second year of engineering programs to make sure they're only teaching the ones that really want to be there and have shown they can do it. The best advice I can give is you to hope for the best, but have a couple of back-up plans. For instance, my biggest dream is to still be an Imagineer, but if I can't do that I'd love to work in some kind of transport field (trains, planes, or ships), or even send my resume to Proslide and White Water West (both of which wouldn't require me to leave Canada). For the record, I'm going into my 4th and final year of mechanical engineering, but it will be my 6th year at the school after falling behind to redo some classes with poor marks.
  10. My girlfriend and I took our first cruise on the Carnival Sensation in Feb of 09. It was a lot of fun, but even in February the deck got kind of cold if there was any wind (especially on the water works). We splurged the money for shallow water dolphin interaction and the water park at Atlantis, which were both a lot of fun, but was nowhere near cheap. I think the water park excursion alone was almost $100, when we got it bundled with the dolphins it dropped to around $60. Word of advice though, if you do go to Atlantis: take your credit card. The place is cashless and I ended up having to leave my brand new camera and our towels under a tree and hope nobody would take them (thankfully nobody did).
  11. The look is awesome, but I'm not really a fan of just waiting for the tube to stop in the half pipe section; that seems like it really add to the capacity problems of water slides. Riders at the top are going to have to wait for both sets of tubes to pretty much come to a complete stop, get out and get off the slide before they can go.
  12. They're only doing it because Whale and Dolphin were at the controls of the Enola Gay
  13. I'm not a fan of so much tunnel on the suspended coaster. I think it would be better if it went around the mountain (staying close to the sides with one or two tunnels) rather than right through it.
  14. Dropped an empty shipping pallet on my ankle today at work. Didn't tell supervisor because last student to get hurt at work was let go. My ankle has a dark purple spot right in the centre, I'm just going to live it with for now.
  15. Just got my HST rebate cheque from the Ontario government. Everywhere I read it said individuals making under $80,000 will get three cheques of $100 each. Mine was for $81. I want my other $19.
  16. Ahem...DEUTSCHLAND!! I'm 3 for 3 so far this round.
  17. Playing the first God of War and I'm stuck on the damn metal covered Minotaur in Hades. I get him to a really low health level and then he kills me...I swear I've done about 10 tries so far
  18. I only go to the park now if I get a free ticket. Last time I was there was last year's Math and Physics day as a volunteer (free entry that day and a ticket for another day). I hate going on weekends and dealing with crowds and I'm not paying full price to go for a few hours after work. Canada's Wonderland needs a Starlight ticket, and I'm pretty sure if they offered one, people would actually use it. I've also never been to their Haunt event because I will not pay a separate price to re-enter the park after dark. If CF's flagship park can offer a free Halloween event, then I can't see why their most attended seasonal park can't do the same.
  19. I was nominated for, and then elected, Vice President Services of ESSCO over the weekend at their Annual General Meeting. ESSCO (Engineering Student Societies' Council of Ontario) is an association of all 15 undergraduate engineering schools in Ontario. This is going to be a busy, but awesome year
  20. 2 Rickard Red and 2 Rickard White on Thursday night
  21. Nice pictures. Where in Bowmanville is this? I went to high school there.
  22. Australia was so close to making it through, I was so hopeful for them. Damn Ghana and their goal difference.
  23. Going through old songs on my portable hard drive, currently listening to: Commin Back by Crystal Method
  24. Congrats, Portugal, you beat and embarrassed the worst team at the World Cup...
