Tried out the Bioshock 2 multiplayer last night. Did the civil war (team based) for 4 rounds and got to level 3. So far I like the multiplayer, there's some really cool features like hidden big daddy suits, researching dead enemies to get a damage bonus on them, and hacking vending machines to become traps. I'll probably play more once I finish the game.

Apparently, the Russians are a bunch of sore losers Russians accuse Team Canada of drug use So now an English journalist accuses us of not apologizing when we win and a Russian is starting a conspiracy theory that we were drugged up and were lacing Russian's food with steroids.

Agreed. How is someone that plays for fun with friends going to stand a chance against people living in their basements making YouTube videos of themselves getting 5 star on every song with their eyes closed while doing some other mundane task with their feet? This is where the fun gets sucked out of it.

Maybe they're holding out to perform when Toronto gets the games sometime down the line. That's my only explanation as to why they're not there.

I was loving it...up until they decided to have Nickleback perform.

The moral choices in BioShock 2 are killing me. I'm sticking with saving the little sisters, but when it comes to secondary characters, it's tough. I try to let them all live, but sometimes the evidence against them really makes me want to kill them. I also noticed after you adopt a little sister, when you look at your shadow you can see her head poking over your shoulder. Little details like that really help make the game that much more awesome.

Yonge St in downtown Toronto has been closed down; celebrations are insane. This is where I wish I had a car so I could get out there and join in.

My nerves are shot and my finger nails are gone. That game was INTENSE. Just as me and my step-dad were saying Crosby wasn't himself and was being very quiet in the game...BAM. Way to go Canada! 14 Gold Medals, the most ever for a country in the winter Olympics.

Win or lose today, there are going to be riots.

I am in their target demographic, but I'm not a smoker (I can't stand being around people who smoke, including family), rarely drink (and when I do, never in excess), and am not a party goer. I went with Carnival because their prices were lower; I was actually going to book with RCCL on the Monarch but they raised their prices the day before I booked. But I do agree that any cruise is better than no cruise, and just wanted to give rosscoe another opinion on Carnival. Next time I would love to try RCCL, I hear nothing but great things with them.

^^Something like "On the Podium" also would have worked. The only real thing "Own the Podium" did was make us overly optimistic, which isn't really a bad thing. ^Vancouver2010.com looks to be run by the Vancouver Olympic Committee; hence the focus on Canadians winning any event. In two years London2012 will probably be run by the London Olympic Committee and the focus will be on the British winning any event (don't deny it, you know it will happen; it's national pride), the same will happen for Russians in Sochi in 2014. The journalist knows this is going to happen, but he just wanted to make a statement against Canada on the last of the events.
-
That's pretty much the same at any Olympics. The host country always wants to win the most medals on their home turf. What are we supposed to do, apologize for coming in first when we win an event?

Canada made some mistakes last game, but they're not going to make them twice.

^^^^ I traveled on Carnival for my first Cruise last February. It was on the Carnival Sensation and was the second trip after it's dry dock for upgrades and renovations. Honestly, I had no problems with the cruise; the staff was friendly, the food was decent, and the price was right. Your room service is included in the cost of food, it's just drinks and gratuities you have to worry about. Having never been on another cruise line, I can't compare, but Carnival really isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. There was really no excess of smoking, drinking, or partying. There was one deck party the night we were docked in Nassau, and that just included music, food and dancing. I would also go for the inside room. You're barely in your room as is, so there's no major point of having a window or balcony if you're just going to be on deck or land. It's also much darker in the inside rooms making it easier to sleep. Carnival makes a good first time cruise, and if you find it to be as bad as everyone is saying it is, then your next time you can take another line, and it can only be better, right?

Apparently a Russian columnist can't handle Canada beat his team in men's hockey: Low blow from Russian media in wake of Olympic woes According to Maxim, Finland has the highest proportion of natural blondes of any country, yet I didn't see much on their team. There were a few cute ones and I think one I actually thought was hot. Other than that, meh.

We can still own the golds.

I've only been to the park for about an hour and just went on the two coasters. I chose Phoenix because I find it hard to think any others of their rides could beat the awesomness of Phoenix.

I thought they were unsure about the guy that sneaked past security back in 1999. The article I read said he either jumped, fell, or was pulled into the water before dying of hypothermia. He did have scratches and bruises from the whale, but for all we know, the whale could have just been playing with the corpse...but that's a whole other topic. As for what happened today, it's a horrible accident. It's hard to say what the animal was doing since we can't read their thoughts.

Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?

Jack Rabbit at KennyWood back in 04. I had never seen a coaster with a small static bar and a tiny leather strap used to keep people in. The airtime on the double down made it feel like I was standing up and ready to fly out. -
After a week in California I finally got back to BioShock 2...even if it was only for about an hour. I just rescued the first little sister in Pauper's Drop and stocked up on some defensive plasmids for future fights. Also had my first encounter with the new Brute Splicer, and holy crap they're difficult to kill.
