I got the two soundtracks but am a little disappointed they didn't have the two mash-up songs from the boys vs girls episode.

Looks like I won't be cashing in my ticket for $180 next month in Vegas, but I did kinda get more into watching the sport, so it's not all bad. -
Not sure about American universities, but up here you can't take a double engineering major, or even an engineering minor while majoring in it. Engineering is A LOT of work, and taking 3 engineering streams at once is just a recipe for disaster. I had great marks in high school, but right now it's my fifth year at university doing 3rd year courses. I had to redo several of my courses here to get better grades and am now taking 3 courses a semester (instead of 5) to help me stay focused. I'm not trying to discourage you...hell, I've always wanted to be an Imagineer, and that's why I'm sticking with this (with a back up plan, of course), but you need to be realistic. 3 engineering fields in 4 years is not realistic. I had the same plan as you: graduate high school, go to university for engineering, graduate university, work a bit with a firm, and then start my own company with a friend. Now it's more like: graduate university, aim for my backup plan field (transportation), and always keep my dream of Imagineer alive.

I'm really hoping they allow Canadians to try out, my cousin has been in a few movies and is a great singer, so she's hoping to send in a tape.

Stratosphere's New 'Ride'
chemical_echo replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know what indoor skydiving is, but it looks pointless to me. The fun of skydiving is jumping out of a plane and falling towards Earth at terminal velocity, then pulling the chute and enjoying the scenery as you float down. You get none of that indoors. -
Bugs - Had a bout of bedbugs in the summer, and found some crawling on my pillow before going to sleep. Needless to say, I didn't sleep a lot that summer. Also hate most other bugs, especially when they're in my room. Drowning - 'nuf said. Death - 'nuf said. Failure - Specifically the fear that after all this time and money spent in university I won't find a job I like or one that suits me. Dentist - They always seem to find something or lecture me for not having braces....sorry for not being able to afford it, jerk.

Stratosphere's New 'Ride'
chemical_echo replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ Where do you find $100 skydiving in Vegas? I looked into it when I was there and a 15000' jump is $200. The Bungee jumping at Circus Circus is also apparently closed. There's indoor skydiving ($75), but where's the fun in that? $100 is steep, but I'm pretty sure they figured it to be the "right" price: A little more than indoor skydiving and half the price of real skydiving. -
Playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 again. I'm at the point where I have to pick if I want to register with the Superhuman Registration Act or Rebel with Cpt America. Tough choice, but I'll end up playing again once I beat it with the first side. Current team: Deadpool, Spider-man, Wolverine, Ms. Marvel.

Vekoma's new train designs
chemical_echo replied to Gav-'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's what I'm thinking too. Something like riding on the back of a dragon fly (or some other flying creature). It's really hard to tell from the back of the train. -
Make your own Dole Whip at home
chemical_echo replied to paintballer's topic in Random, Random, Random
To me, ordering the official "make it at home" kit kinda defeats the purpose. I was expecting to get instructions on how to make it from scratch, not how to follow the official instructions. -
My friends had just told me about this right before I came on here. I'm not sure if I would be up for sleeping on a stranger's couch since I'm usually a pretty shy guy. It would be weird to sleep in and have their family doing their daily routine around me or something. Now, maybe I'd consider setting up a tent in someone's backyard as an alternative if it was a safe neighborhood. I just plan on staying at hostels or getting one of those micro hotel rooms (pretty much just a bed, maybe a TV) I've been hearing a lot about lately when traveling.

Ultimate Alliance 2 in the first two missions isn't too different than the first one. The coolest improvement is the fusion move, which lets you put two of your hero's powers together to either clear the room, target one person, or clear a path. I'm waiting to get to the civil war part of the story to see who I can unlock (Venom is on the cover) and what it will be like playing against other heroes.

Started playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and finished the first two missions but I want to wait till my new HDTV arrives before going any further. Right now my team is Gambit, Iron Man, Spider-man, and Wolverine. Also just started Rock Band 2. So far I like it, but the medium setting feels so slow compared to Guitar Hero, I kept missing notes because I'm used to GH speed.

^What if you only paid for the membership in a year when you are considering going on a trip to other countries or joining a TPR trip, then just not renew it the next? Its kinda like how I only got the CF Platinum Pass the year I decided to visit 5 Cedar Fair parks. I would normally never pay for all the benefits in a year I wouldn't use them. Not sure how it Robb is planning it exactly, but I assume there will be a renewal process at the end of every year, and not renewing would just take you back to having everything the way it was before.

I really don't see why everyone is badgering the guy about his fear. We all have fears, and a lot of times, those fears are irrational and make no sense at all. No sense is trying to talk him out of his fear; it's something he has to deal with on his own. Anyways, yea, back on topic...cameras or a pilot in the last car should be something they look into. That, or following the manual.

Are you working during the holidays?
chemical_echo replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Because I work at a hockey arena for a junior team, games are usually only once or twice a week. Also, since most players are 16-18, they get a Christmas break. My next shift is New Years day. -

I don't watch football often, and have no idea what the Ravens have to do to make the playoffs, but I just hope they can do it so my betting slip from Vegas can stay alive. -
I like the idea, and depending on what parks offer what discounts, that might make it worth my money alone for joining. I've always considered joining a coaster club, but like others have stated, haven't really had the desire to fall in with certain stereotypes. The $15 store credit is a nice perk as well, but really there's nothing there I would personally buy. Nothing against your DVDs or merch, but I prefer riding coasters than watching them on my TV, and I'm not a fan of coaster related or club related shirts. This is probably the thing that would make me second guess the purchase. The priority trip placement is nice if I ever decide (read: have the money) to go on one. As for what else you could be offering, I like the idea of a printed newsletter mailed monthly (or bi-monthly or quarterly, or etc...) to update members on site, park, or industry news.

My cousin and I have already drawn up our brackets. While his is based of guesses and some knowledge, mine is pure guesses. While I don't have Italy winning it (or even in the final) I will be cheering my butt off for them. I'm half Italian, so I kind of have to. My other national team (Malta) never makes it, but they all mostly cheer for Italy anyways. If you want a blank copy of that bracket to post, just send me a PM. My WC bracket
