2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Looks like FIFA is reviewing the referee from the USA - Slovenia match up. Not just on the call at the end, but on calls made throughout the game. http://g.ca.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/news/source-fifa-may-sit-slovenia-u-s-referee--fbintl_ro-referee061810.html It won't change the outcome, but it's likely he won't be working another match in that position. -
Gameplay video of Nuke Mode in Twisted Metal Uh..holy crap that looks awesome. Not to mention that for a multiplayer game, the level looks pretty damn big.

So, what does everyone think about Goldeneye, one of the greatest games ever created, being remade for the Wii?

Heard at work today: Portugal should draft Ronaldo into their Olympic aquatic program, he's a better diver than soccer player. I can't believe that N. Korea actually got a goal on Brazil; I was expecting them to lose, but part of me really wanted to see a tie or win for N. Korea. That would have been a huge blow to the Brazilian fans and players. -

Would you rather there be no noise at all? IMO, that would make for some pretty boring football. When it's quiet it's like nobody cares that they're there, not the kind of environment you want at the biggest sporting event in the world. Not sure about sports events in the US, but here in Canada people take large plastic horns to football and hockey games. I dunno, to me the thing by itself is annoying. But when a stadium full of people does it, it sounds great. Just like when I sing alone it's horrible, but when I sing along at concerts, everyone singing together sounds incredible. Knowing that everyone else is just as excited to be watching the event really gets me pumped. -

Personally, I love the sound. To me, it's the personification (more like soundification) of the term "buzz of excitement." To the players saying it's distracting: you are professional athletes, you need to be used to the sounds of crowds. To the fans whining: you're lucky enough to be at the World Cup, why not show some excitement like everyone else there and make some noise? I'm running a World Cup pool at work going by points. We each had to pick the top two teams in the group round and get 1 point for each correct team. In rest of the rounds, it will be picking the winner of each match. Point value will rise by one each round. -
As far as I've read, MK Rebirth is not a trailer for a new movie...how many trailers are 8min long? From what I've heard it might be a kind of screen test to get money from a movie studio for a new R rated MK movie. But, either way, HOLY @#$% is my feeling as well. As for video games, I'm still playing God of War...just got into Pandora's Rings level.

That would most likely cause some kind of neck damage. -

You know, I really wanted the Flyers to win. Not just because I'd get to cash my ticket from February when I go back to Vegas this summer, but because if they had lost we'd have a new sports curse on our hands...the Hossa curse. -
Amazing Video!!!

Nicely done. I've tried that game so many times and came up empty handed. The only "impossible" game I've ever won at a park was ring toss, and it took them about 30 minutes to get my prize. Apparantly they just can't take one down from the rack and hand it to you. -
2. Most places near the border will accept US currency, but at a lousy exchange rate (you'll also get your change back in Canadian currency). Go to a bank beforehand, or even in Canada, and get some Canadian currency. 3. Everything on Clifton Hill is pure tourist trap. The best thing there, IMO, is the Ripley's Museum. I'd also consider checking out Maid of the Mist or Journey Behind the Falls for some close up action of the Falls. The Ferris Wheel also looks pretty cool, although I haven't been on it yet.

Is anyone else wondering where Fynn is living now? Since being kicked out of his new place, they never really mentioned where he went.

My friend let me borrow God of War collection for PS3. Started God of War 1 today and beat the Hydra. Gotta love the threesome scene and "mini game" right after to get a bunch of red orbs and the "rock the boat" trophy.

I just found out that NHL 11 will have CHL included I have never been so excited for a hockey video game!

The train ticket I booked last night to get me to Ottawa for a student engineering conference has been canceled today. Turns out that instead of adding security to Union station during the G20 Summit, VIA Rail is just canceling all trains going in and out of Toronto. My options are now cancel my ticket with full refund and find another way to Ottawa, or get to Oshawa (about an hour away) by 6pm...my train was scheduled to leave Toronto at 5:30pm. Getting to Oshawa is also being left up to the passenger, rather than giving a shuttle a bus. Damn world leaders.

If you stay at a hotel like Monte Carlo, you can just use the public transit system. The YRT's 20 Jane-Concord bus goes directly into Canada's Wonderland. Why pay $30 for a taxi when you can pay $3.25 for a bus?

Drive-in Ferris Wheel

I remember it being in Toronto too, wasn't that long ago either if I recall correctly. I'm pretty sure it was somewhere by the waterfront. EDIT - found an article, it was in Toronto in 2004. http://armchairtravelogue.blogspot.com/2010/02/drive-in-ferris-wheel.html -

Sounds like a good match up, but it would have been nice if they used some teams that haven't played a Winter Classic game yet. I'm also happy to see that they're doing a second one in Canada, only a matter of time before there's a Leafs vs Sens one in Toronto -
I actually got into a debate with a friend over that. I said I understood where Fynn was coming from and Kurt kinda deserved the lashing. She said that nobody should get that kind of lashing. Although, she's going through a stand up for equal rights because men (especially straight men) are wrong about everything kind of phase right now.

Aside from the giant pink lashes, Quinn looks HOT in the pink gaga dress.

Those are pretty much the only bumper cars I know. If I recall correctly, big parks like Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland still use the antenna-attached-to-the-roof kind of bumper cars. -
If you're into Walt Disney, go check out the Walt Disney Family Museum. I went there in February but only had about an hour to look around the place, I could have easily spent at least half a day there. Also try: Alcatraz (buy your tickets early and online) Pier 39 Clam Chowder in a bread bowl at Fisherman's Wharf Bike riding across the Golden Gate Bridge

My dad lives out in California, so I'll probably send him something to remind him of home. Either a Red Wings jersey (his favorite team) or some Tim Hortons coffee.

I used to work on a Skycoaster and can easily say that going by yourself was so much more fun than with a group. You might not swing as high, but the feeling of falling by yourself is just something else. Just don't think about it and you'll be fine. Enjoy the view as you're going up and have a great time.
