I have to watch the MLS now. Damn you David Beckham.

Yes! I got beaten to death by both of these before they may or may not be getting torn out! I actually think this is a good idea since flashback has been down for ages and when I went to SFMM at the beginning of summer, Psyclone had to wait about 10 minutes to have enough people on the train to let the ops dispatch it from the station. Anything in their place would probably get more ridership or attendence (if its a ride or restaurant).

I am thinking Carland is going to DCA (funny I just drew up a ride almost identical to it when I was bored on a trip up to Vegas) as is the Woody thing because the park does need a lot of work to bring it up to the high standards of the other Disney parks. The new park could be the 5th gate at WDW and it somewhat looks like it might be like another park somewhat similar to a TDS. No matter where all this stuff winds up it all looks pretty good, and hopefully the rides are going to parks that need them.

Pinball themed water ride..
VegasCoaster replied to Cameron's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I could see this ride having a lot of reridablity depending on how fun the illusive bonus slide is. It would be a different experience every time. -
Accelerator coaster for Bakken
VegasCoaster replied to raskal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From what I remember of Bakken I am willing to bet it'll be closer to Kannonen than Rita. Might be a different layout, but it seems like something similar to Kannonen is more possible with what they have. -
"Its so hard to be a Don Juan when you have a chinchilla wrapped around your *bleep*" "My love life was slow like a dial up modem, now its going broadband that I have a silky smooth *bleep*" " You may notice women either in the store or in line. This does not give you the right to begin shaving. Get their numbers and tell them you will stay in touch, in 25-30 minutes" This website is hilarious! It is definitely the funniest advertisement I've seen in a while. Its a shame none of this will ever make it on the tv.

Transformers: The Movie Trailer Released!
VegasCoaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I actually really liked the trailer and will probably see the movie. I didn't have the toys, I didn't watch the show, it just looks like an entertaining movie to me. It didn't scream ID4 to me the instant I saw it, I don't think I'm as critical as others when it comes to movies or much else. -
From what I've seen most companies (aside from engineering as well) want at least a 3.0. Essentially what they are looking for as people have said is people skills and some technical knowledge, because for most schools what you learned in class doesn't look a thing like real life. They want to know that you do things outside of school as well. If you have a 4.0 and did nothing but school, they might not be as impressed as the kid with a 3.4 who was a student union senator, played in band, and did im sports.

WHo would ride the Crystal Beach Cyclone
VegasCoaster replied to crispy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's no way I wouldn't ride that ride. Its such a classic and it looks like a lot of fun. Sure it actually had a nurse at the exit and broke ribs etc., but it would be a lot of fun. -
Add an actual layout to TTD. Give the Boss some PTC trains and probably retrack it. Take down Psyclone and use the wood to rehab Colossus and take out the MCBR. Take down Manhattan Express. Build Arrow fish hook with metal recovered form Manhattan Express. Take off the OTSRs on Revolution and get rid of all the stupid trims.

CARS! The Car Super Thread
VegasCoaster replied to Jordan Shankman's topic in Random, Random, Random
Courtesy of the ice storms that swept through the midwest. Its a Ford Escort ZX2 in case its hard to tell. -
I know GCI designs all of their coasters with math, they say so themselves on one of the Discovery Channel shows. ^Dang it so I have to go learn SolidEdge now. The meche's at school use it a lot but I've also heard tons of complaints that many companies don't use it and that it was pointless to learn.

I'm getting the second one come Christmas whether I get is as a gift or not. I love the game and am glad the new one has a practice mode so I can actually practice some of the licks. I usually play on expert now (after a pretty good summer learning to play Guitar Hero) but the last set of songs is bleeding impossible, especially Bark at the Moon. Heck that song is damn near impossible on most settings. I also need to figure out timing on hammer ons and offs as I can't do those, oh and strumming in both directions is still not happening. Makes playing on expert a work out on some songs.

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
VegasCoaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The site says its available immediately so I would almost say its probably already in pieces somewhere on the property. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

^ I was just writing the same thing. Are they rebuilding that entire section to make up for the 10 feet? Since a loop is shaped like a z from above, they'll have to do something. Maybe GG will get in there and do some strange banked S-turn thing in the middle. -
Your Closet Coaster

I actually rather like Canyon Blaster at the Adventuredome. Get some decent air if you sit in the back seats. Its short, but fun. -
Washington University in St. Louis (aka WashU) I'm studying Civil Engineering. Its a lot of fun but waaaayyy too much work at times. I'm going to WashU because I wanted to be West of the Mississippi (made it by about 7 miles or so) and when I visited I just fell in love with the place and more importantly the people. Its a smaller school, the people are very nice, and the weather is great .

I got into the Disney College Program!
VegasCoaster replied to TheLastGunslinger's topic in Random, Random, Random
I've wanted to do this for a long time but I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to do it as its not a summer internship and I don't want to miss a semester as many classes I need are offered one semester a year and at 40k a year spending more time here isn't that great of an option. The program definately looks like a lot of fun and like a great opportunity, so hopefully I can do it or something like it the summer after school or something like that. -
I've seen Mystere twice and O once and hope to see Ka and LOVE at some point and time. O was my favorite as the stage is just amazing and allows for some seemingly impossible things. Ka's stage might be able to beat that based off of what I've seen it do, but still most of them in Vegas are just amazing. I do like the Cirque shows but I am completely incapable of following the "story" that they are supposed to tell. Vegas is also getting two MORE Cirque shows in the near future bringing the total to an obscene 7 with one being themed to Elvis and the other to magic. At this point I think they should be incorporated into the classic Welcome to Las Vegas sign because they are taking over the Strip.

Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, Sububran Legends and Westbound Train at the Canopy Club in Urbana, IL. Probably one of the better concerts I've been to. Definately worth the 3 hour drive. And the night before that the Mad Caddies at the Gargoyle.

Supermarket Credit?
VegasCoaster replied to Not For Sale's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know, this might count as a coaster if rides like Fire in the Hole at Silver Dollar City count. While it does seem to be powered for most of the time, on the turns it definately doesn't have any power source from the look of the video so it is gravity powered there. -
I don't know how popular a condo highrise that took down a New York City and American icon would be but I guess after a while people would forget or if the prices were cheap enough they wouldn't mind as much. Just seems like taking out the Cyclone would be a bad idea. Not to mention the endless people that would chain themselves to the thing if any planned demolition occurred.
