  1. I think clouds like that are mentioned in the bible somewhere near the end. I was sad I wound up going to CP the day before you guys came, but we wound up not having any rain. We did get some nice 95* and crap tons of humidity and lots of EMT carts with passed out people.
  2. Just out of curiosity, when are you guys hitting up CP? I looked at the flyer and the info on the event page and they don't list specific dates. I'll be there on the 7th so if the hundred people from TPR will be there as well it would probably make it the best CP trip ever.
  3. I believe I've done this before but I don't know if it works, but is it possible to enter the park from the Soak City entrance if you are not staying at one of the resorts? I swear one of the times my aunt parked back there since we had some people going to Soak City and they just let us in a little early. I'll be going on a Tuesday so hopefully the crowds aren't too bad and its a day trip so no hotel for us.
  4. I was 6 when I rode my first roller coaster. I believe it was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland, but I also remember Gadget's Go Coaster being rather early on in the credit list, but I'm not sure it quite existed on my first DL trip.
  5. Sadly I need the credit so I will be experiencing, neutered but somehow more painful SOB. If they did in fact test it a few times with only the three cars, perhaps it was to see if the human body / track could even withstand the vibrations this thing will create before subjecting the track to a full test?
  6. At Kings Island there was a girl who actually said "OMG". The future is looking very bleak if people are actually going to start using AIM speak in conversation.
  7. Most coasters look rather slow when they aren't broken in much, and I think they only had test dummies in the first few rows. I think I remember X-flight going a little faster than that, but its been so long since I've been on it that I don't remember if it was significantly faster.
  8. The Beast at Kings Island is perhaps one of the most boring coasters I have been on, aside from the helix, which was amazing. I found The Fairly Odd Coaster to have more airtime than The Beast. I know the Beast isn't all about airtime, but it just seemed like sitting on a park bench going through the woods. Having said that if they took off the brakes on the ride it would probably be pretty amazing.
  9. ^I'm going to venture a guess that I was taking video right next to you when you shot at least part of that. I saw it testing from the lift of Vortex which thankfully opened sometime after 4:30, and then proceeded to run towards Firehawk.
  10. Hot Fuzz-9/10 I love the British humor and the 40 minute action sequence was hilarious.
  11. I'm glad I saw this. I was just going to book one of the package deals to go to Cedar Point before I start work this summer. Might still wind up going to Cedar Point, but Kings Island is slightly closer and I haven't been there so I can get some new credits.
  12. Its a shame a lot of the stuff there isn't the original stuff anymore due to a fire a long time ago. I think the actual Three Amigos set is gone and a new one was built. When I went with my moms work we had a fun time. Trail Dust Town is also a fun place and the stunt show is free and surprisingly good for a free show. That and Pinnacle Peak's is there so you can get a good steak to boot.
  13. One of my friends and I held up a giant sign that said "This Ride Sucks" after an entire day of riding Speed: The Ride at the Sahara in Vegas. The ride ops thought it was funny, but the manager not so much. We were able to buy the onride pictures unlike some other parks.
  14. I boogie board whenever possible, though I'm not good enough to do it in the larger wave areas. I snowboard, but not particularly well. I'd love to do parkour but I need to learn how to roll and take a fall before I try anything.
  15. Cut Chemist, Reel Big Fish and OkGo at my school for free, with free food and drinks. Awesome show.
  16. The fact that Ashlee Simpson can still perform in public has made me lose faith in humanity.
  17. I kind of think the general look of a croc doesn't scream safety. To me it doesn't look like a ohh lets go cuddle with it kind of animal. I know thats not what you were getting at, but it just makes me wonder that much more what the hell they were doing. Poor croc.
  18. The only rough rides I had on the Voyage were in the afternoon. It seems to pick up speed a little bit and with the little speed comes a little more roughness. Even at its roughest it is not half as bad as practically any other woodie I have been on. It is definitely intense and my favorite woodie. All I need to do is find out where the LIMs are in the tunnel after the midcourse break run.
  19. I rode Canyon Blaster around 20 times in a day and Speed the Ride 30 times in a day.
  20. This year is a tie between Hydraulics and Soils. They just aren't taught well and dirt is just so fascinating on its own.
  21. I went to school with the guitar player from Panic! at the Disco (Ryan Ross), as well as the soccer player star in the JoJo video "Too Little Too Late", who is probably going to be playing for the MLS sometime next year or other similar pro soccer club. I know two time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk quite well, as well as his son Arie Jr. I also know the trumpet player from The New Vaudeville Band, Pete Cooper. I think they had one hit, "Winchester Cathedral" which was number one in the US in 1966. I've probably met more people, but these are the ones I know.
  22. Official and only entry: Upon further inspection, the lunar landing does look to be a bit fishy.
  23. If it was spring break they should have no problem filling the train that much. The reason there are two sets of LIMs is because you don't want to launch people to 70 mph to make it up that spike in the short distance the first launch is, then send the riders into a loop, lose a bunch of momentum and then go half way up the spike. I could almost bet that Mr. Freeze would valley too if the LIMs on the spike didn't fire because it probably needs to get up that high to make it back through the over bank and top hat.
  24. This is what I can think of off the top of my head: Credit Whorific. Well, Jeff Johnson would count it. Busted...by camera. Its a Vekoma. Somewhere in between Psyclone and Windjammer.
  25. I really like Mythbusters. Its probably one of my favorite shows actually, right behind the Daily Show and Colbert Report. I actually think I got my roommate into it as well thanks to the big explosions.
