What a waste of titan track. Buy back the actual Zambezi Zinger and refurbish it, put the titan track on Prowler. What an incredibly underwhelming first new coaster since 2009…5 points
-
Yes, they could have added 90 degree drops, loops, in-line rolls and all BUT zambezi zinger had none of that. They are capturing the essence of a long gone ride and, I'd dare say, it's pretty damn identical. And in the spirit of the long gone coaster, this seems to be geared to families.5 points

Worlds of Fun has announced their new for 2023 roller coaster, Zambezi Zinger, a tribute to the original Zambezi Zinger that used to stand at the park! https://www.worldsoffun.com/new-in-2023/zambezi-zinger The new Zambezi Zinger roller coaster will take guests on a thrilling journey above its galvanized steel and wood hybrid frame, dropping guests from an iconic spiral lift hill into a low-to-the-ground track that races through the trees and terrain of the African Serengeti. Packed with several moments of airtime, banked turns and quick transitions, riders are connected to the feeling of an epic safari chase and fast-paced adventure! Designed by: Great Coasters International and Skyline Attractions Length: 2,428 feet Speed: 45 mph Duration: 2 minutes Track Style: Hybrid Titan Track Trains: New Infinity Flyer Trains, capable of taking on the most extreme coaster elements # of Trains: 2 Riders/Train: 16 The original Zinger was one of the park’s most popular rides – and one of three coasters – when Worlds of fun opened in 1973. Beloved by adults and kids alike, it had cars configured in a bobsled style that dashed through the trees for a fun and exhilarating ride. The new Zinger is sure to delight a new generation of guests while providing a nostalgic nod to the past.5 points

I think this is a net positive. I'd take a Wild Mouse, a nice refresh and an upper deck bar with views of the lake over Wicked Twister any day. For me, I'm definitely most excited for the pavillion. That upper deck bar really ticks all the boxes for me. As for the mouse, I'm almost surprised that it's not CGAs.3 points

You just can't go by back something that isn't for sale you know. . . Besides why do that when you can spend the same money on something unique and brand NEW.3 points
-
And how would you propose doing that, given that the original coaster is now operating in another park (in a third-world country to boot, so you know maintenance hasn't been done), has recently had a major incident, and is by a long-defunct manufacturer? Seriously people, think before you speak.2 points
-
I dig the area re-theme and the new restaurant/bar. Wild Mouse coaster is meh, of course for me, but a good addition for families. I can't wait to see how bad the lines get. My biggest takeaway: No more early entry for Gold Pass holders! Whoohoo!2 points

think it looks great. and opens up space for a trabant, or similar flat over where Matterhorn used to be.2 points

It's not whether anything you said is true or not, I'm just tickled by your... passion on the topic.2 points

I'm thinking it means either you'll go forwards or backwards at the launch, you won't know which direction.1 point
-
^My thoughts too. I'm thinking this will either start with a forward boost or backwards boost... but will be the same ride after a swing launch or two? Very interesting. I am excited the park is bringing the ride into the 21st century and "keeping it around" for decades to come but I am also devastated that the classic form of the ride I grew up with and was an icon at the park is now gone. But nothing lasts forever, I'm interested to see how this turns out. Very mixed feelings...1 point

Yeah, Cedar Fair rarely makes all their announcements on the same day. The park's probably just waiting another week or so to announce their new fleet of trash cans.1 point

Sounds like those LSMs all the crackheads think are going on Dragster are actually going here...1 point
-
3 pm everyone will mostly be hanging out in the water park so the dry side should be fine.1 point

Not looking good…ever park is announcing their plans and nothing from Valleyfair has been mentioned.1 point

I'm a sucker for boardwalk-style areas in any amusement park. It's the Jersey in me. Can't wait to see the final product!1 point

Looks like a fun ride! Obviously, it's not something that's gonna be mind-blowing, but it still looks like a super enjoyable ride. I think it's a great way to pay homage to the original Zambezi Zinger. I'm also really interested to see how those Infinity Flyer trains perform.1 point

I'm upset? Not sure why I'm even replying because its clear you're missing my point entirely. Not once did I question whether or not what you said was true, I just though the delivery was comical. That's it. No one is butthurt about anything. Are you sure you're only a park junkie?1 point

As expected, Q2 results are pretty bad. Revenue was down about $25 million and attendance dropped by almost 2 million. Per cap spending was up, but was not enough to offset the drop in attendance. Will be interesting to see how the earnings call goes this morning. Earnings per share projections were missed by 33.8%. https://investors.sixflags.com/news-and-events/press-releases/2022/08-11-2022-1100336841 point

After my first ride on LR (around 11am), I think it was down for a significant portion of the day. It did start running again and I got another ride in right before the park closed. Maybe it was seat location or the classic "it warmed up", but that second ride was epic and all talk about a "heyday" left my mind. Btw, the park closed at 7 and I don't think there was a parade. My cousin, whom I had been there with that day, later sent me a story about the movie and Willie Nelson was also there. I'm not much of a country music fan, but that would have been legendary to catch a glimpse of both of them.1 point

Theoretically they can change the price at any time, but it probably won't this close to the date. Note that you are physically incapable of buying it "in the park." You'd need to use your mobile phone to do it there. It's honestly easier just to buy it in advance. Even if the crowds are small, you'll appreciate one or two train waits for almost everything. And you only want Fast Lane Plus. Don't bother with the regular FL. With FL+, here's how I'd go: -Woodstock Express first; it's not on FL -Bat second; it's also not on FL. -Flight of Fear 3rd; it is on FL, but the merge is kinda back from the station some ways and it always seems to have horrible capacity even though it shouldn't. -After that, do whatever you want LOL. It won't matter with FL+. Wanna go spend some time in the water park? Cool. Wanna go back to your hotel and take a nap for a few hours? Fine and dandy. With FL+, you will have more than enough time to do everything you want several times. Yeah, if this is your "last big adventure" for a while, I would go all out.1 point

I guess the big announcement is coming tomorrow for 2023. Hopefully a shiny new coaster!1 point

So sounds like Mack is doing the re-track with the Spinning trains like Time Traveler? Cool, I dig it if that's the case. EDIT: Nevermind, I see I misread what was going on. Oops!0 points

LMFAO, you my friend are hilarious. You're upset by the truth, but not by what has caused this truth to happen. I'm not sure why you're so butthurt by the truth. Six Flags has been and still is being run in to the ground. Its been talked about for years that this was going to happen and how it would happen.... and here it is.0 points
