  1. I'm sorry SeaWorld but as an outsider who can only go off your adverts to convince me this ride is 'Anything but Chill'... If you're going to keep throwing up 'STEEPEST BEYOND VERTICAL DROP', '100 SPIKE' etc across the screen, at least switch to a backseat POV at that point or stick an off-ride view at the end of the video because all these front shots do a really bad job of selling me on that.

  5. 676 days. That is how long it has been since I last worked for a company that employed me for 21 years. They keep saying "oh, we're going to bring you back." It's been almost 2 full YEARS. I am OVER it. Literally. Most of my friends have returned to work or were able to transition to remote work. I am a professional musician. There is no "remote work" for me. I did everything right: masked, social distanced, got both Pfizer shots AND the booster. I STILL got Covid right after New Years. It sucked for about 3 days. Still have a lingering cough. But I am here. I survived. So to all those selfish entitled a$$holes who still insist it's not big thing and refuse to get vaccinated, F*CK YOU. It is due to people like you that we are in our 5th wave. I am still holding out hope that I may return to a job I loved and did well for over 2 decades. RANT over.

  8. At a 2019 event we did Tshirt rides on Lightning Rod at 36 degrees at night. Cold but doesn't last too long.

  9. If a park puts it back together with a Vekoma train and has Vekoma come in and reprogram like Silverwood did, I don't think they are stupid. It could be a great investment at the right park.

  10. Mid month update in the hopes of holding myself accountable. Exercise is going fantastic so far this year. I'm averaging 12,535 steps, 99 mins, and 1,504 active calories a day. My move streak is still intact, currently at 295 days. The problem is eating. I've been on the "I'll start eating better tomorrow, I'll enjoy today" mindset all year so far. Despite my exercise, this mindset has ballooned my weight. This morning I weighed in at 254.8 pounds. Yikes. I'm a Type One diabetic and I saw my endocrinologist Tuesday. She was slightly disappointed that my A1C (your sugar average last 3 months) increased. I knew this was going to happen because I've been eating awful and I've seen my averages go up, its not like I was shocked. I was disappointed I let her down. I'm less confident in myself where I am at now that I was when I was around 220 pounds. And at 255 pounds, I'm starting to borderline getting walked of shamed again. Jeans are tighter, belt is bigger. This was the slap in the face I needed to get back on the right track. I know I can do it once I'm determined and motivated. I didn't magically lose 100 pounds. When the seasonal parks near me open in the spring, I do not want to be thinking about how tight restraints will be. I want to feel more free. I decided since yesterday was my birthday that I would still enjoy myself Tuesday and yesterday eating cake and whatnot, and that Thursday (today) I would start eating better. Scrap all my old goals, here are my new ones. And they are final. Close all my rings daily (which I am changing from 800 to 1,000 active calories and from 45 to 60 mins) Weigh 215 pounds by 5/24 (my next endo appointment) Have an A1C below 6.0 (will be taken 5/24) I'm confident I can do this, and of course I will update. The weight goal will be a push. When I lost 100, it was about a 2lb/week clip. This would be about 2.25/week, so similar but still an increase. I have a weekend trip planed to SDC & SFStL early April. If I keep that pace, I'll be around 230 lbs by then, which I was at this summer and had no problems at any parks.

  11. PSA: Anyone planning a trip from any significant distance should check the refurb schedule. For the first few preview days, Montu will be closed and Sheikra will be closed through the beginning of March. If you don't live nearby and don't feel the need to be first, it's really not the ideal time to visit (especially that first week with both Montu and Sheikra down).

  12. People who leave time on the microwave. How hard is it to clear the time? This breaks down into three categories: 1. Those who leave a single second. Just let it ding, goddammit. 2. Those who leave about 15 seconds left. Odds are it's not gonna burn if you let it go all the way. 3. Those who leave a minute or more. Why'd you even set the microwave for that long if you're gonna take it out that early? Literally I've seen coworkers put 5 minutes on the microwave and take it out after 30 seconds.

  16. The park has cancelled the remainder of their Saturday night Fireworks shows and cut the operating hours back by 2 hours every Saturday the same day that they doubled the price of their season passes. They’ll run a 5 hour operating day all Winter. lol

  19. ^I heard the new management is going bold and they got a big statue of a middle finger to go there instead of the Batmobile. It is going to block the path they put in last season so everyone has to use the old one.

  20. Coasters, good food, and state parks is my kinda trip. Looks like a blast! I can't believe they canceled that game so last minute. Manta looks like a ton of fun, these newer Mack coasters have been such a breath of fresh air! San Fran is one of my favorite cities, there's something just so magnificent and memorable about the Golden Gate Bridge.

  22. ^ I'm FURIOUS with what they did to Ron at SFOT. . . . way to shoot the guy in the back, after he put so much effort into park improvements over the past 18 months (during Covid too!)

  24. Truth be told, I thought Devil's Den was just okay and I thought the gum wall was gross but I did recently come across the posts from the guy who was taking care of it and I appreciate the amount of work he put into it with zero budget. I see no reason why any other park would buy that thing, though.

  26. It’s true though - I’m a typical millennial who hates talking on the phone as much as the next guy, but if there was a phone number to call plainly stated for answers to questions I would not get on a message board to ask my question

  29. ^ find that VERY hard to believe, as the Holiday in the Park events bring in revenue. I'll wait for something official. . but certainly have a hard time believing they'd announce before the event is over in 2021, that it won't happen for 2022.

  30. Here are pool coverings I created a while back, which definitely could use improvement. I just made it cause no one else did. Hiimmisterdude's Pool Coverings.zip pool tiles to make slides over pool ground when you can not put a pool tile under it without obstructing supports or even slide layout Not to big a pack and could deffinitly use work It was a lazy design. If someone wants to improve the pack and add a few textured pieces to cover the spiral stairs, the top of the spiral stairs, and ramps IMO that would be a great idea It can be used to make some areas look nicer though
