I'm very glad they chose a color that will blend well with the scenery rather than a gaudy, clashing scheme.

Looks like the fun part is over, and the crew has moved over to the station to install the track and transfer equipment. I had hoped they would have finished the top hat before, as I can't wait to see how it turns out!

^ I agree, I would have loved to see the top-hat done tomorrow ;) , since they are going to start with the station area on Saturday. But they are currently working on the dive into the Pretzel loop at the moment, I guess that they need a bigger crane to do the rest of the top-hat which is why they decided to wait with it.
Also the Pretzel loop may be the last piece to go in, since there is still a lot of work to be done to finish of all the footers in that area, and they are still in the preparation phase on the whole concrete slab which will be poured under the pretzel.

Here are some more images that have been posted on the helix blog in the past days:

I must have missed that, I only saw the two cranes up behind the station this morning. Good to hear they are still putting up track for us to drool at :lmao:

January MEGA Update!!
Here is a massive update on Helix etc. as it stands today.

First up is an invite on the Helix blog, everyone is invited for another Helix IRL experience, anyone that happens to be in the Gothenburg area on the 12:th of February are welcome to attend. If that's the case then visit: http://projekthelix.se/kom-och-se-helix-bygget-irl/ for more information and how to register for the event. The last one was really fun to attend :)

Lisa have updated the times when the web-cams are running, so that you are now able to follow the work that RCS is doing on Saturdays, so you can all now have a look at what's going on.

Also Liseberg recently uploaded a new Youtube video for Helix, this time with a bit more information about the ride itself, and it's currently running on the big screen above the Liseberg main entrance.

YouTube Videolink

The video seems a bit wonky at the moment, but that might be fixed soon.

Also had the chance to go by the park to take a few more images as well as a new panorama of the whole building site, nothing from the staging area though, since there wasn't that much of interest there and we were in a bit of a hurry at that point.
Enjoy the coming images!!
Panorama.zip
First up the new Panorama, download, unzip, open and shed a few tears of the beautiful curves of Helix :)

The area will be accessible when Helix opens, but it's undecided on what they will do with it at this point, another picnic area or other

The wooden façade that was going to cover these walls may have been replaced with an aluminium chainmail looking mesh instead, not sure on what to think, but it might be really awesome!!

They have covered Helix to be able to finish of the electrical work on the second launch, the cold and windy weather have made this really difficult and the scaffolding tent was the most cost efficient solution to get out of the weather

No Top-Hat today, they are missing the pieces to make it complete. But as many times as they have changed the installation order there is bound to get caught up in some snags, especially since the track is delivered in a predetermined order. Also with the scaffolding works on the second launch, they wouldn't be allowed to do any heavy lifting in that area due to safety concerns, so it will be installed once they have completed the electrical installation and the deliveries have caught up.

So with this I bid adieu to Liseberg this time. A big thank you to Lisa from me and my brother for this informative and pleasant visit. Can't wait to get back here in about 1.5 weeks for the IRL visit :)

Until next time, have a nice weekend!!
