For me, it doesn't matter what you look like or who you are attracted to, or whatever. What really matters is how you treat others. As far as I'm concerned, a "decent" person is someone who treats others with respect.

{{{{hugs}}}} to you, AllisonY2K. I'm happy to be here with you.

Wow Allison. I hope you continue to get the support you have received already. When I was growing up one of my Mom's bosses (he was a chiropractor) was a pre-op transexual. This was in the Mid-80's and he was a female going to a male. Married, had kids (adopted of course). I didn't know it at the time, didn't find out until MANY years later.

I think it's awesome that you are comfortable enough with us here on TPR to reveal something like that. I think it says ALOT about the people on this board.

Some peeps from the chat room already know

Here is my beautiful boyfriend ( http://photobucket.com/albums/b296/lessthanthreex10/? ) His latest pix if in the second row from the bottom.

Im gay, not fem, no rainbows, no drag queens hiding in my closet, just me. When you walk into my room, its covered in Blink-182 posters and Green Day shirts, including every punk rock/pop CD ever.

I know some how this will have some dent in my label (Shirtless dude).

Im out to my friends, but not family. I know if I do come out to my family I wont have a house to live in anymore.

Hmm, well, I'm not sure who I am actually. I'm still questioning myself as of now, but since high schoolers are usually asses (well, not all, but a majority). I'm not going to explore other sexual preferences.

I was thinking for a sec whether or not I'm Bi, but, in ways I try to bear an open mind to people. Some guys catch my eyes, and some girls catch my eyes, I dunno, I may be bisexual.

Sorry to turn this into a sort of "Support Topic", but how did you know what you were?

I may be gay, but I can still tell you if a girl is hot though. There's just no denying that some ladies are just down right sexy. Yet, I would never do anything with them... because, well, I'm not attracted to the women folk like that, but I think it's important to be able to at least recognize if somebody is attractive or not regardless of if your gay/lesbian/straight/bi or whatever.

but how did you know what you were

I knew when I was about 6 that something wasn't right. I spent the next 20 years trying to figure it out or trying to convince myself that I was a normal heterosexual guy. Gay man, nope. Transvestite, nope. Crossdresser, nope. Straight male, nope. I tried being super-macho straight guy, nope that was totally wrong. After much surfing of the 'net I was able to finally understand what I was, and what I can do to change things. Thus I started on the road of transitioning in the year 2000. I stopped living for everyone else and started living for myself, began accepting who I was and doing something about this instead of trying to lie to myself. This was the time AllisonY2K was born.

You don't hear much about young TS girls (even 29 is considered young for the average). We're not supposed to be out and transitioning yet, we're supposed to still get married and have a few kids or go into the military for awhile before finally coming out.

^I think it's also harder/easier depending on where you are!

I remember watching some of those Discovery Health Channel shows about all of the work it takes to change gender/sex. It always showed these happy people and happy doctors in San Francisco. I'd imagine on the West Coast of Florida you're not finding too many people in your same situation.

The whole human body/brain/gender roles thing is too complex and will never be fully understood. Heck, I think I have a lot more 'male' personality qualities than female, but damn I love getting all dressed up and pretty sometimes!

haha, yeah. Seattle, San Francisco, NYC..all good places to blend in, and with higher percentages of TS women. podunk Bradenton and Sarasota...not so good. but, there are enough resources to transition here and I could even drive down to Miami for the sex change operation. That would probably trump all TR's.

I'm proud of you Allison ! I kind of know how hard it is. I knew I liked guys at about age 6, my husband was about 6 too, seems thats the age.

Thanks also to every one here, it makes life alot more comfy knowing that people will like you for who you are, so we don't have to act like someone we are not.

So to ALL , Thank You!!

^Hey Diego,

your desktop is filled with bunnies??? Sorry man, but you are only 12 years old! I thought a 12 years old kid is interested in playing soccor or things like that, and not reading the Playboy!? I think you are a little bit to young for magazines like the Playboy! At your age I didn´t know what the Playboy was! The youth from today is not any more what it was at my time!

Kudos to you Allison, I accept people for who they are and I believe that people are born the way they are. Like people are born gay, bi, lesbian, and even transexual. I actually know one person who had a sex change and her name is Lydia I believe. She owns a car repair shop one town over where we have taken are cars over there a few times. Shee said she has been very happy after having the sex change.

It's so great that not a single person here has had a bad word to say... Having just read this entire board in one go though, the only thing I thing is a little bit of a shame is that people still feel the need to defend the way they are, such as "even though I'm gay I don't listen to this music or act effeminately" etc etc. Hopefully if we eventually reach the stage where everyone is as open-minded as the TPR posters nobody will ever have to defend their sexuality in the future.

Much kudos to everyone who's told their stories by the way, especially Allison, who I really hope finds happiness in the future, you certainly deserve it babe.

We are seriously outnumbered here! I realise it's probably the case that not every female registered to the site has put herself into this poll, but jeez, less than 20 of us?!

Robb & Elissa, do you have any kind of figures to how many males and females are actually registered to the site?

I've been visiting for months but only just started posting... didn't realise how few of us there were!

  • 1 month later...

Since I have the number '3' popping up everywhere in my life these past (literal) few years, wouldn't ya know it that I'd be #33 on the poll there!!! You can see which one, for now. Compared to the other numbers, heh heh.

Yes, after reading "all of the above" I find it refreshing that it's not such a Big Deal as it used to be, to be 'out.' Except of course, to ones self, family, friends, co-workers. That IS still a Big Deal, don't matter which decade, lol. Not belittling that important Part of Life, believe me.

Just - "when I was younger..." well, some of you know it wasn't as casual and commercial as it appears to be nowadays.

Anyway, here's to acceptance, and to you Allison, Big Bunches of Roses. Good for you!
