P. 771: Onsite employee housing under construction at Dollywood

Recommended Posts

Heads up to anyone coming down for opening weekend that uses I-75 south.

http://wate.com/2016/02/26/i-75n-closed-in-campbell-county-for-rock-slide/

I don't know much yet, but I do know I get to go into work tomorrow and produce the plans for the repair job by Monday morning. If this does affect some of you, I will be sure to keep this thread updated.

Update: Southbound lanes will likely be open prior to opening weekend. We are giving the contractor 21 days to have 1 lane open Northbound, so I would still count on using the detours listed in the article below. All lanes should be re-opened on or before April 15th.

(not so) Seriously guys, what's a good place to eat in the park?

I will pay for deliciousness, abundance, and... uh...tastiness.*

* Besides the fff-ing cinnamon bread!

Everyone just eat at Taco Bell and save your money for cinnamon bread, it's that simple!

Is it really that simple? Can one enjoy their cinnamon bread while sitting on the shitter from eating Taco Bell?

If your 22yo and are already worried about dealing with a Taco Bell poop, you got alot to learn about life son.

Does anyone know the dates of the Spring hot rod show? I'm planning to be in the area early April and hoping to avoid it if possible.

April 14-16. You can see the calendar of the biggest events in Pigeon Forge at http://www.pigeonforgetnguide.com/events/pigeon-forge-events-calendar/ . Most area spring breaks are April 1-10, so there will be slightly heavier crowds then as well.

She's complete and she's beautiful!!!!! Testing should happen any day now.

EDIT: Sory I meant to merge the two posts together but somehow I double posted. Ugh

Let´s hope Dollywood can pull a miracle. It was supposed to be testing almost a month ago, so they are far behind schedule. And with it being technology RMC has never encountered before, I suspect it will open late. But who knows...

That's untrue, you don't know when they were "supposed to be testing".

I'm still not worried.

Same here. This isn't like some projects where they hadn't done any other station/electrical prep when the track was completed, so I wouldn't be surprised if testing starts before the weekend. If they want to transition from testing to operating quickly, they'll make it happen one way or another.

I'm guessing they will walk on water to get it ready as advertised. My other uneducated guess is the first month or so will be tempermental for the ride until they tweak it inbetween early-season operating days.

As I said, that's just my completely uneducated guess...
