That coaster museum has been housed in the building for the last couple of years. The building was in pretty rough shape before they put the museum in, so they had to rehab at least a small portion to make it safe for the public. It probably would be difficult and costly to get the entire building up to a code for a larger attraction.

Thank you.

How did you get from the cave, to the house?

There's a walkway to it that starts on the Craftsman's Valley side of the structure....the left side in this picture.

here's a recent TBT pic from facebook...probably mid 70's.

I know they redid some of the area in the mid 2000s, but it is just looking a little rough around the edges. Many rides, buildings, and signs have faded paint or even patches of rust, and they all seem tamed down too much.

It won't anymore. Country Fair is receiving a lot of refreshing this year, I have the paint on my hands to prove it!

Some of the signs could use some rehab, admittedly. But it has fresh paint! And considering how colorful the area is, that's big!

That's great to hear!

Good to hear about CF. I was really noticing when we are the park this past christmas that it was rely looking under standard for the park. Nice to see the love is being spread around.

Yes, this is great news! Last time I was there it looked like it could use some refreshing. I had no doubt that Dollywood would take care of it, though.

I see that Showstreet Palace is getting a face lift, too. Hopefully Celebrity Theater gets the same treatment-- the sides of the building look rough. Do you know which other areas are getting some love?

The front facade of the Palace is being replaced, the street overhangs in Jukebox Junction (alongside Pines) are getting replaced, the siding on half of the Rockin' Roadway building that hadn't yet been replaced is being done this year. Roofs have been replaced on the Nature Shop (alongside Rivertown lake), Grist Mill and Miss Lillians. I believe that's about it for heavy construction on existing structures. A lot of everything else is receiving an annual refresh of paint.

Blazing Fury has had some work done (scene refurbishment and such) which is a good thing because most of the guests thought it was closing. I mean, how could you have two fire department themed rides in the same park without one closing, right? I don't know the extent of what was done to it, however.

I think Blazing could be fun to go along with FCE, but I hope it really gets a upgrade in show elements. I know some of it is "classic kitsch" but it's looking actually a little more shabby than just that. I think the ride system could be kept and the entire show be reworked - maybe even making it a "spooky hunted town" theme - funny scary like Disney Haunted Mansion - check out the Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris Thunder Mesa show scenes for ideas. It needs a theme song and some focus now that it will be loosing some of its luster as a "fire theme thrill ride"

Dollywood just posted this image to their Facebook page. I spy a train filled with water dummies!

TGIF and thank goodness for the good weather this week. The load station for FireChaser Express is taking shape. Can't wait to make some memories with heroes of all sizes! #LoveEveryMoment

That station has come a long way from when I last saw it, back in november! Wow. Really lookin good. Dollywood knows how to make a station look sharp, thats for sure!

Wow, that station did seem to pop up out of no where. Here's hoping that we see that train in the station zooming around the track soon since opening day is just 4 weeks away.

Does anybody know if there used to be a attraction inside the mountain next to the train station? We walked thru the mountain, and it just seemed like there used to be something besides a jewerly stand.

The Gem Mining Co. used to be located in the cave. Now it is in Craftsman's Valley I think.
