It's funny how the question asked what is your favorite coaster in the park and people list half the coasters in the park. X2 is my favorite, though I haven't been on Full Throttle or Green Lantern yet.

Its been a good 20 years since I have been to Magic Mountain, But I will give you my top 5 list of the coasters from the park when I was visiting the park on a regular basis considering that I lived out in the Pasadena, California area while I was growing up.

1. Ninja

2. Gold Rusher

3. Viper

4. Revolution

5. Colossus

I think it's close between Tatsu and Apocalypse but I have to give it to Tatsu. I'm suprised at everyone picking X2 as the best though, other than Green Lantern I think it's the worst ride in the park.

I know it's a 20 year old list but I think Ninja is one of the most underrated rides I've been on. It has a unique layout, a great sensation of speed because of it's close proximity to water and trees and is overall a great coaster.

Now that SFMM has updated some of its rides, has anybody's list changed?

Mine:

1. Twisted Colossus

2. X2

3. Full Throttle

4. Tatsu

5. Viper

6. Goliath

7. Apocalypse

8. Batman

9. Scream

10. Revolution

I haven't yet tried Superman or Green Lantern. I would put Riddler up there, but I really hate the restraints on that ride. I typically have a headache 30 seconds into the ride.

4. Full Throttle

5. Goliath

6. Superman

7. Batman

8. Viper

9. Riddler

10. Ninja

If Apocalypse ran smoothly like it was 5 years ago, I would throw it in between Goliath and Superman.

Which ride is the best?

Obviously - the Helpful Honda Express Funicular, up to Ninja and Superman!

Well, pphhhh... I thought that was a well-established fact, so I didn't bother including it in my list.

In order of the rides that I found the most fun:

1. Twisted Colossus

2. Tatsu

3. Goliath

4. Lex Luthor

5. Ninja

6. Batman

7. X2

...and then everything else pretty much runs together. The only ride I went on that I didn't like was Jet Stream, which is odd because I usually love log flumes.

As i mentioned before I never been here before but its nice to see what coasters are top tier here. I noticed Superman is often middle or low tier which im kind of surprised because looking at this pics and POVs it looks epic! Super tall fast and steep but I can see why it may not be a favorite as its most likely to short. Usually the longer last coaster is the best! (That is if its good) X2,Tatsu,and Goliath look epic too though.I never been on a coaster like X2 before looks really unique and awesome!

Superman ironically just doesn't feel very fast. In the same park, I get a much better sense of speed and acceleration from YOLOcoaster. There's nothing else like X2 on this continent, and you really should go. It is in many ways the star of this park, even after all these years. As for Goliath, it was just plain fun. I still enjoy the classic big drops and no inversions. Goliath is huge and fast and powerful, and it's just a lot of fun.

I have yet to try Superman, but that's only because I didn't want to wait in an hour-long line for a 20-second ride.

Goliath is fun; there is actually a discussion of it going on in the "official" SFMM thread. Many hard-core enthusiasts don't like it because of the lack of steepness on the drop, and the mid-course brake run. I agree with them in that regard, but I still enjoy it, for the most part. If and when you visit SFMM, it's definitely worth a ride or two.

I agree. Goliath is definitely near the bottom of my rankings of hyper coasters, but that doesn't at all prevent me from enjoying the ride. Most of the time I avoid it because the queue can get nasty long in the summer (especially since they've added the seat belts). It holds its own and is still, to this day, one of the smoothest coasters I have ever ridden.
