arrowfanman
I dont know if this has been said or not, but all Disney theme parks in America have raised their prices, yet again. Disneyland Resort Parks: Single and multiple day ticket prices have increased as of today (January 3). Here are the new prices with the adult price listed first and the child prices (3 years to 9 years old) listed second. In parentheses is the amount of increase. Single park, single day: $59/$49 (+$3/+$3) Single day, parkhopper: $79/$69 (+$3/+$3) Two day parkhopper: $116/$86 (+$11/+$1) Three day parkhopper: $169/$139 (+$10/+$10) Four day parkhopper: $199/$169 (+$10/+$10) Five day parkhopper: $219/$189 (+$10/+$10) Annual pass pices are not affected at this time. Walt Disney World Parks (from Orlando Sentinal): Disney spokesman Craig Dezern said prices are rising 0.8 percent to 5.8 percent depending on the length of stay per ticket. The basic one-day, one-park ticket will cost $63 plus tax, up from $59.75, or a 5.4 percent increase. [...] A key feature is that longer stays are less expensive on a per-day basis, a strategy that Disney representatives, and industry analysts, say is designed to entice people to extend their visit. Disney's seven-day Magic Your Way ticket, for example, will cost $204 effective Sunday, up from $199, or a 2.5 percent increase. But the per-day cost averages $29.14, if the ticket-holder visits for all of the seven consecutive days allowed. A two-day Magic Your Way ticket, by contrast, is rising to $125 from $119, or 5 percent, and that works out to be $62.50 per day. [...] Florida residents once again are getting a price break, for one-day and three-day tickets. The one-day Florida-resident ticket is rising to $56.70, from $53.75, up 5.5 percent. The three-day pass will be $120, up 0.8 percent from $119. So feel free to bitch, rationalize, argue, and turn this into a bash-Disneyland thread, since nobody can every bring themselves around to hating WDW. YoshiFan
Wow, I didn't realize the admission was so expensive to begin with (for my last 3 vists to WDW I had an annual pass) but $67 (with tax) for 1 day admission to WDW. That seems ridiculous.
BarryH
As sure as the sun will rise, Orlando theme park ticket prices go up every year. The good thing is that many parks are offering special deals and discounted admission prices. The best deal I've seen is Universal's Bonus Pass for $99. I've never really seen discounted admission for WDW, other than those for Florida residents or AAA discounts.
robbalvey
It could be worse. We paid $59 to get into Central Park in Japan last week! --Robb
momo1tx
59 Bucks!?! Wasn't that the park with the "Williams Grove Batman"? That park doesn't even look that great! I think the Disney price-raising is just something that can be expected, with discounts though prices can still stay lower.
SonOfBeastSucks
Wow, Disney FL prices were only $50 per park three years ago!
JT3000
Eventually, a time will come when these parks cross the line and guests revolt, refusing to pay. Sadly, it will be a couple hundred years before this happens to Disney, because their psychotic fanbase is too loyal for their own good. Same reason the Magic Kingdom will never ever get another decent sized attraction.
Jose Eber
I paid 50.50 to get into Disneyland Paris the other day. CHEAP! (but the ride there wasn't -- lol). I don't know, I think raising prices is good and bad. Its hard to judge it.
Scaparri
Well, I think the price is quite ridiculous, but they really are just matching the rest of Orlando. When SeaWorld is charging $60 for admission, there is no reason Disney can't bump their prices a little more. This is the main reason why, despite having been to Florida 20+ times, I've never been to anything outside of Disney. I just can't afford it! Hattuchili
LOL, I have to pay nothing for a Disney Park in the next years! --Sören
JT3000
Well, I think the price is quite ridiculous, but they really are just matching the rest of Orlando. Which is why Sea World sucks Shamu nuts. (Does Shamu even have nuts? Nevermind. It's not important.) I think these prices are outrageous for any park, but that park in particular definitely isn't worth $60. I literally live across the street from Sea World and have an AP, and it's still the park I go to the least.
stingrock23
Eventually these raises will have to stop. At some point, people will stop going, and attendance at all the parks will drop. It's only a matter of time.
SharkTums
Honestly I don't think the prices are that outrageous. Think how much money it is for people to: - Go to a sporting event - Play a round of golf - Eat at a fancy restaurant - Go to a show - Go to a kids entertainment thing (circus, show, etc.) Heck, even minigolf is up to like $15 a course! Again, remember that most people treat going to a theme park as a once or twice a year at the most activity. In that case, these prices are not excessive. Wes
^ Yeah exactly. I paid $25 a ticket to go see a Lakers game, and we were WAY up in the nosebleed section. The game was a little over three hours long. It also didn't include food ($10) or parking ($20!).
Scaparri
^^Wow. Now that it's put like that, it really doesn't sound that bad. I can't lie, I fork out $90 for my seat at the Indy 500 every year, which is only 3 hours long. I guess I just never looked at it like that. robbalvey
Exactly. One of the reasons we have still yet to see any shows in Vegas is that I can't justify forking over $100+ per person for a ticket to see puppets sing about internet porn for 2 1/2 hours. While I'm not really into shows, and as much as I'd like to see shows like Avenue Q, Blue Man Group, or O I'd rather spend 1/2 the amount and go to a theme park all day! That doesn't mean that I don't think people who are into seeing shows shouldn't spend that money, I just choose not to. --Robb
Wes
^ I'd pay over $1000 to see puppets sing about internet porn.

mcjaco
I was actually pleased the last time I was at WDW and the prices. $200 for four or five days? That's not bad at all, and considering I only go every couple of years, it was well worth it in my eyes. Robb, you really should see Blue Man Group. I've seen it three times (AHHH, thre times I could have gone to SFGAm). It's well worth it.

GAcoaster
Avenue Q is worth the money, but that's off topic. Think of what a rip-off a movie is. Almost $10 for 90 minutes-2 hours of entertainment, and you only get to do it once. A theme park gives you up to 12 hours of fun, and you can do things as many times as you want, for $50. A park is a much better value, and the concessions are actually cheaper.
Robgraves
really theme parks are the most cost concious form of entertainment out of the home now days. that and if you do it right it helps keep you svelte

mb425
While I admit the new pricing for Disney is not that bad, it might hurt business, especially when Universal is offering 5 day, 2 park tickets for $104.95! ($99.95 online! http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/orlando/website/ticket_landing.html?__dest=ticket_landing.OFFER_left_1) I know where we're going the next time we visit Florida! ltp74
$63 plus tax along with $9 to park for one day is alot for Animal Kingdom and Disney/MGM Studios and that does not include the $35 if you want to park hop.
