  1. ^ No offense, but could you have been more of a douchebag with your response? Oh, wait, no you couldn't have been. At least I had something legitimate to say beyond name calling. You? Not so much. Oh, and to answer your question, that would be a definitive yes.
  2. It's true that many guests only seem to care about WWOHP now, but that just means shorter lines at the other attractions. Not sure why anyone would complain about that. No offense, but your rant doesn't even make any sense. How did you spend an entire hour looking for open rides? Most of the park's attractions are open. Did they all break at the same time? That's extremely unusual if they did, and not indicative of anything. If you had trouble finding food & drink locations, this is nothing new for IOA during the offseason. Entire restaurants have been shuttered in the past, long before Wizarding World was even built. And I'm not sure what you mean by "signs of IOA."
  3. If you're waiting outside the gate at opening, I recommend going straight to the parade building (Forsaken), then doing the Sprung tents and working your way counter-clockwise around the park, ending at the soundstages. The first few houses should have barely any line. You should avoid the soundstages at the beginning of the night, because that's where everyone who doesn't know better goes. If you do Stay and Scream at Finnegan's, you should have all three soundstage houses done by the time the park officially opens.
  4. I wouldn't call this a bad year at all. In fact, the overall quality of the houses, at least in terms of design, is possibly the highest its ever been. The scare zones are certainly less than optimal, but that doesn't make or break anything for me personally. I tend to care about the houses more. I don't get many scares in the streets anyway. It would be nice if it stopped raining though. It's been a wet month, and every night it rains, the scare zones are affected heavily. They don't usually put fog machines outside of scare zones. It would have to drift. This year's safe zones have the same basic stuff they always use, music, projections, etc. And Lady Luck's minions now have chainsaws, since their sparking sticks all broke. They begin the night at the front of the park and then move to the street between Sting Alley and the lagoon.
  5. I don't think there's any bad houses this year. The Thing and Winter's Night are both classics in the making, and all of the others are pretty decent, with some new and imaginative effects being seen in multiple houses. The Forsaken is a bit of a letdown, because I think it could have been better, but it's still not a bad house. The one house I see getting bashed a lot is Holidays of Horror, and people need to realize that it's a comedy house before they go through it. Much more so than the previous comedic houses. Don't expect the same type of experience you get from the other houses. I think the area where the event needs the most improvement is scarezones. And yeah, Bill & Ted needs some tweaking at the very least. The new writer isn't off to a great start.
  6. Warning: There be spoilers ahead. These videos are an inside look at some of the houses for HHN 21. The Forsaken http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcPLCSZZrsA Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKjy2e89Cc0 Nevermore: The Madness of Poe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aldH6kNXG3w
  7. Not really. Why, you ask? Simple - Disney isn't actually capable of recreating any of that. Realistically, you can only "think big" to a certain extent with theme parks.
  8. via Twitter: In this cemetery, the deadly spirits beneath the headstones only come to life every 100 years… so you should be safe. THINK AGAIN. Happy 100th anniversary... Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery
  9. Depends which coast you're on. West coasters tend to say maze. We call them houses.
  10. There are new games in the Backroom on HHN.com. They are multiplayer games for Holidays of Horror, The Forsaken & Nightingales (that's the gold, orange & purple cards.) These games seem to show up every night around 6 pm, while the original single player games can be played during the day. After beating both the single player and multiplayer games for a specific haunted house, you can click on the corresponding flashing spot on the house of cards to see an interactive page for that house, just like the ones seen on previous HHN websites, which fleshes out the details of the house's backstory. You must have won BOTH games for a house's interactive page to appear. This seems to be the only way of accessing these pages.
  11. There's a reason why Orlando scareactors use "boo and skidoo" tactics (ie "they just pop out.") It's their safe scaring policy, put into place because the event has an unfortunate history of violent & troublesome guests. Even though it's a dry event, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Hollywood is forced to create similar safety policies. HHN Orlando has changed quite a bit over time. The scareactors were originally allowed to touch you.
  12. Winter's Night -- Soundstage 22 The Thing & Nightingales -- Soundstage 23 The Forsaken -- Parade Building The Inbetween -- Sprung 1 Nevermore -- Sprung 2 Saws n' Steam -- Jaws queue Holidays of Horror -- Disaster! queue I don't think it's comparable. The Inbetween. A 3-D house.
  13. Nice job spoiling. Could you have at least warned people. Oh well, 30 minutes won't kill. I didn't force you to read it, did I?

  15. Yep. It's not returning. This is pretty accurate. Also, one of the houses is 3-D. I personally enjoyed last year's offerings, despite the inclusion of stale past characters, but I think this year has more potential. It's all about execution at this point.
  16. These are the newest photos. First one is presumably from the house based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Second one is a mask design for one of the houses. The brink of insanity Bare your fangs
  17. This is a short version of the commercial, which wasn't supposed to be leaked, and it doesn't display all of Lady Luck's... uhm... character. She certainly isn't my favorite icon, but there's more to her than what you've seen so far. She's waiting...
  18. There's plenty of leaked information floating around for HHN Orlando. You just won't find it here, because no one's posted it (and there doesn't seem to be much interest anyway.) But it's true that Orlando doesn't release the sort of teasers that Hollywood does, or bluntly announce things in advance like they do. They like to be more secretive and reveal everything at once. In fact, they only announced The Thing because Hollywood did. I will say that every Take a Chance game on the official site is a clue to a specific house's theme. Speaking of which, there's a new one up. Click the (dark) blue card for the new book game. This gives us a corresponding game for every house except The Thing. If anyone feels lost and needs a more detailed explanation of how the games work, go here (you'll have to sign up.)
  19. New games have been added to the site, and the cards on the tray are now color coded so you can choose which game you want to play. Gold - TV game Aqua - Crypt keys game Red - Horizon machine game Green - Rune game Purple - War game
  20. Disclaimer: This is simply my theory at the moment, I don't know for sure how this is going to work. Upon being introduced to this game, you might instinctively assume that the object of the game is to accumulate as many tokens as possible. I don't believe this is the case. Rather, the tokens are simply a currency used to play the game, as well as a means to punish you for going broke. The object is to simply beat each mini-game, and you only have to do it once each. Every time you beat a mini-game, the house of cards will increase in size. The symbols below will also start to fill in with color. Currently, there are only two mini-games to play and your house of cards can only increase in size twice. Once you beat both games, you're basically done for the time being. I'm assuming that the game will be expanded in the near future, with all 8 houses being represented by their own mini-games. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the games are randomized, so there's no specific solution that will work every time.
  21. There's a new game on the site to try your Luck with, called Take A Chance. Be careful. If you lose all your credits, you're temporarily banished from the site. Also, here's some clues for the attractions one can expect at this year's event: "'Tis wise to avoid cemetaries by night, Lest one should encounter the dreaded blue light." "The midnight hour does not deter me, I always count on Floyd and Nurmi." "One stands to lose their body's bounty, If they return to God's Own County." "Había cuatro naves y se fue de España; Navegó por el sol, el viento y la lluvia. Tres barcos continuaron explorando, Pero, ¿qué pasó con el número cuatro?" Have fun with that.
  22. I would recommend doing the parade building house (next to E.T.) first. If you're there when the park opens, or better yet, doing Stay & Scream, then you aren't really saving any time by skipping it. It just forces you to walk back to Kidzone. Do that, then the Kidzone tent, and then the World Expo tent (right next to the first tent's exit.) The Jaws house will still have a small wait by the time you get to it. Then again, they're seemingly rerouting the Sprung tent entrances & exits this year, so it may not work the same as in the past.
  23. I think this could be an interesting theme. It's fairly unique, as I haven't seen anyone use it before. I guess they decided to gamble a little and try their Luck with something new, instead of covering previous ground yet again. I can't wait to see what fate has in store for us as more details emerge. Do you think the two cards in the intro might mean anything?
  24. Florida got a giant themed test track ages ago. It's called Test Track. Imagine that. What exactly are we getting the "lite" version of? We don't know how our Mermaid will compare to DCA's and everything else in this expansion is unique to MK. Why did you even mention ride refurbishments? Nothing's being refurbished here (except Dumbo.) You might want to read the plans again, because I'm not sure you understand what they're doing.
