Welcome to Disney over Hong Kong. No, wait, that can't be right...

Halloween Horror Nights AP Discount?
JT3000 replied to Jeezus Juice's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Discount is about $20. So you pay $30 instead of $50. That's with 2 park PAP. -
Strange things at IOA

Jurassic Park. If they plan on building anything there, it'll be in that empty field at the top center of that photo. -

Through the building? Eh? It's a dark ride. Not a pitch black ride. There's nowhere in there to plop down roller coaster supports without them being visible from the ride. And I've seen the course with the lights on. Besides, how would they get them into the building in the first place? Cutting holes in the ceiling isn't exactly practical. The entire idea isn't. Is it possible? Yeah. Any alteration to the park is. That doesn't make it practical. -
Soarin' Queue Pictures

And in recent Disney fashion, they were too lazy to do all that. -

On top of Spiderman? You don't expect them to put the supports on top of the building, do you? And there isn't much they could put in the area between Marvel & Toon unless they take out that theatre. -
Small World at WDW open

A tin roof? What? If we have the same luck this year as we had last year, that thing won't survive the Summer. -
My Universal Florida and IOA Trip Report
JT3000 replied to EpcotLova's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hrm. I don't know how anyone can find a ride that's actually interactive boring. :? I could see how some people wouldn't enjoy it because they're bad at it, or it simply isn't their cup of tea, but boring? -
Fearfall at IOA. It's the only space shot I'll even ride. It's actually the only ride that scares me that I still ride on a regular basis.

There isn't any room in Marvel. For anything, much less a hyper coaster. They made that area too small. -

Is the coaster a one way trip to a strip club or something? -
Mission: Space-Not Lame.
JT3000 replied to EpcotLova's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Eh? None of that has happened to me or anyone I've ridden with. We just sit there and get sick. No getting pushed into the seat, no "OMG, I can't move my hands!" baloney. No story, nothing. Just "Let's see how long it takes before your face turns green." That's about it. I think it's unnecessary intensity. Not really fun in any way. The price tag is just another reason for me to think it's the product of Disney going in panic mode after Universal cornered the thrill market in Orlando. -
Revenge Of The Mummy at USO
JT3000 replied to EpcotLova's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mummy's restraints were created by Satan himself. Those things don't mix well at all with the amount of airtime the back row will give you. I often leave the ride holding my stomach. They should put bars on the back of every seat so you'd at least have something to hold on to. They also keep overweight people from riding. A "big boned" family member holds a grudge against the ride. Everytime he tries to get on, they send him packing. -
Best Park Fireworks
JT3000 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nightly fireworks? Epcot's. I like Universal's 4th of July fireworks best. -
Best Theme Park Food

Mythos isn't even the best restaurant at UO, IMO. Tchoup Chop is. So it isn't completely unfair to compare resorts outside of the parks. -
Top / Best Amusement Park (s)
JT3000 replied to bodombeast's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've never been to any parks outside of Florida, but here's how I'd rate them: 1. Islands of Adventure 2. Magic Kingdom 3. Universal Studios Florida 4. Disney-MGM Studios 5. Epcot 6. SeaWorld Orlando 7. Animal Kingdom 8. Busch Gardens Tampa -
At least two days for Universal, 3 & 1/2 for Disney, and at least one for SeaWorld. Don't spend money on Disney or Universal's nightlife complexes. Downtown Orlando's nightlife is better, and tourists never go there. Ripley's is mildly amusing. Wonder Works sucks. The Orlando Science Center is better and less touristy. Skull Kingdom sucks even more. There's about 4 employees working there at any given time. If you want to go to a really good haunted attraction, wait for October and go to Horror Nights. There's nothing to do at Cypress. It'll probably close before it ever improves. Only go to Busch if you love coasters. Otherwise, Busch sucks (and is an hour away). Yeah.... that's about it.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Elements
JT3000 replied to GAcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The park is definitely lacking in things to do. But the safari is decent for what it is, and IMO Dinosaur is the most intense attraction at WDW. It'll still be a while before the park becomes anymore than a half day park, especially if they don't keep it open later. But the theming is some of the best they've ever made. Well, except for Dinorama. Dinorama is to AK what Toontown is to MK. Except 10 times worse. -

The park needs something else. If they plan on building a new coaster, they better be working on something else as well. Not everyone likes coasters, so hopefully they don't turn it into another BGT. I was hoping for the jeep ride.
