TheoB Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I am glad to see trains being installed on the transfer track. I have a question for those who have ridden Taron: do these trains feature seatbelts? Seatbelts often depend on the ride remember, like Diamondback has seatbelts but Shambhala doesn't. I don't see seatbelts coming though based on that as if possible by default PortAventura don't add seatbelts.

I don't see seatbelts coming though based on that as if possible by default PortAventura don't add seatbelts. Unless forced by the manufacturer PortAventura has a tradition of not adding unnecessary seatbelts. In fact, when Dragon Khan opened, it didn't have any belts, just the OTSR. And Cedar Fair having belts to their hypercoasters was a corporate decision; B&M manufactures the trains without them, it's CF that wants them implemented...
rcjp Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 when Dragon Khan opened, it didn't have any belts, just the OTSR. Really? That's interesting. When were they added? Also, great to see no OTSR on this ride.
psaulaferraz Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Screamscape says this: (9/6/16) A new Flying Theater from Brogent Technologies will apparently be part of the Ferrari Land experience when it opens at the PortAventura resort next season. I don’t know much more about it, though I do believe there is a flying theater attraction in the original Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi as well, so this could be similar. So now we are starting to have some clue about the mysterious Ferrari Experience.
KingRCT3 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 There is indeed a flying theater in Abu Dhabi, but it's a Huss model.
Henry M Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Are the shot towers from Liseberg, or are they new?

KingRCT3 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Are the shot towers from Liseberg, or are they new? Nope, the towers from Liseberg are already erected (operating?) at Europark, in Vias, France.
Henry M Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 ^ oh wow that's really cool. I hoped they would be re used as they were in good shape.
Trevor Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 The structures of the new S&S towers are arriving to the park. As you can see, the towers will have a "rosso corsa" color, as the Intamin coaster, with black pipes inside:
Henry M Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I am surprised those rides are going in so early. I know they can be built in a matter of days. Hopefully they are thinking of adding some nice affects to it.
psaulaferraz Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 PACOMMUNITY posted this on twitter this morning. It's not a full test but they ran the train through the launch manually. PAC Twitter
Henry M Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 ^ Yes yes yes yes yes! It lives. Always so mice to see things like this! Those fins are so huge.
psaulaferraz Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 By the way, I also saw that in capte people was talking about Portaventuras's website, as they have added a new tab which is about the prices of Ferrari Land. There aren't any numbers by the moment, but there are two rows. I think one will be separate admision and the other one a combo with PA. What do you think?
Dar Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Andreas Andersen from Liseberg tweeted this picture of the trains on the track: Still a bit indifferent to this as a whole, but I do like the white stripe down the side!
RyanTPM Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 ^I think the trains look fantastic, they've done a really good job with them!
Projektion Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 More pics from around Ferrari Land (Source: PA-Community) And a close up of the front of the giga's trains (Source: Theme News):
Samuel Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 ^ Gorgeous train! Definitely TTD-inspired, and the OTRS lap bars look a lot freer and more comfy than Ka's conventional configuration. This thread and the coaster itself have come a long way from the "..wha...is it melting?" panic button that was being pressed months ago.
Stonem Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 These are definitely Taron-style train! The only thing I don't understand is if the seat are suspended like the coaster in Phantasialand (floorless with floor lol) or not. It's very difficult to say as the lateral part of the train is covered. Anyway, I loved the freedom feeling of taron trains, so it will be certainly improve the experience on the ride.
Arn'O Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 WOW! Port Aventura made it again! Those trains look absolutely beautiful, can't wait to see this thing running! Waiting for 2017...
psaulaferraz Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Today PortAventura had a power cut during some hours. Both DK and Shambhala trains got stuck at the MCBR and they had to evacuate them. Also, Tutuki Splash got stuck in the second lift. All of this happened while EAS was hosted by PortAventura this week!!
JordyC Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I am surprised nobody posted this photo yet. It's on their Facebook page with the title "Ready to take off soon". Testing should begin any moment now!
coasterbill Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 God this thing is gorgeous. I really hope it's reliable and more of these things pop up.
Hilltopper39 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I must have missed it but is this an LSM launched top hat coaster and not a hydraulic cable launch?
