Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Oh, Excalibur, the creaks and moans as the ride made its one single rotation as we spun - it's all coming back to me. One of the few rides that left me a bit dizzy afterwards. It is a great ride but doesn't it also have a lot of maintenance issues? A Frisbee would be a fine replacement.

I'd settle for new paint and something (roller coaster) great in 2017.

SFSTL has completed a lot of painting projects at the park over the last year. I really think all of the restaurants in the park need some TLC. With more and more people eating at the restaurants in the park, most of the restaurants show lots of wear.

Besides whatever the new ride will be in 2016.. what would you like to see the park change or update?

My opinion? This is just my opinion, but our family of 5 ( my wife and I and our 3 children) has season passes with dining passes, so i'm just voicing my opinion. I am at the park just about every weekend.

1: Renovate the restaurants inside the park. Everyone of them needs updating and making more modern and efficient. First impression means everything!

2: Make the dining pass available to be used at all Six Flags parks, even if it does cost extra I would pay for it.

3: Create new menu items at the restaurants.

4: Make the dining pass hours just a little bit longer, or at least let the snack be used until park closes.

5: Have special Hurricane Harbor time on a weekend night, just for season pass holders. Like from 7pm-11pm?

3: Create new menu items at the restaurants.

I definitely agree with you on here. In my opinion, they have done a pretty good job adding items over the past couple of years. I believe there are a couple new places that were added either this year or last year that serve boneless wings and some salads and wraps.

Personally, I think they should bring in some St. Louis classics, like toasted ravioli, as it is delicious and would add something unique to the dining experience.

I absolutely love all those ideas. Having one night a week of having HH open till park closing would be great. Swimming in the dark is great.

Due to financial constraints, I' ve let my membership expire and am seriously considering if we will renew or purchase season passes for next year. The park has really become "boring" for our family.

All the restaurants need a freshening up including, seating, menu boards, furnishings, etc. Many more freestyle machines with ice loaded throughout the day.

Even though Larson Loops are not really the ideal addition to the park, they still do have some appeal to them. I've never actually been on one before, but I know people that have and I don't think they're really painful rides per say, also I mean the LED lights on the rim really are something pretty amazing to look at, especially after seeing videos of The Joker: Chaos Coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia at night

That's saying we're even getting one though.

The park is slowly renovating/redoing all of the restaurants it seems. It started off with the pizza joint at the front become Macho Nachos, then Villains Cafe became JB Smokehouse, and this year Character Cafe was split into Kicken Chicken and Go Fresh.

Hopefully next year we can see something done with the old fried chicken restaurant near Bugs Bunny that hasn't been open in YEARS. I'd love a country type restaurant with turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and vegetables.

Can't wait for typical SF announcements. A couple parks will get something exciting, inevitable Magic Mountain or Great Adventure. Then, we'll be down the list with some buzz killer of an attraction with another unfortunate park or two.

Then, this thread will fill with people who will declare that our park still has plenty to offer, despite the fact that our newest thrilling steel coaster, Mr. Freeze, will grow another year older. The growing number of people like me will just sigh and wait for a repeat scenario next year.

Anyone want to take bets on if we will get another new steel coaster before Mr. Freeze is old enough to drink?

After a conversation today, I am looking forward to FF even more! Even with a lot of the mazes returning, they are going to be even better. In terms of maze design, this is going to be the best year ever. From what I understand, this year is also a bit of a transition year. While the mazes are going to be really cool, the should be even better next fall.

One important part is that each scene of each maze is being designed with the mindset of "even if there was no actor, the scene would still leave Guests thinking that it was really cool." While there are no plans to get rid of any scare actors, this mindset is definitely good to see. In the next couple years, we'll continue to see technology plan a bigger role, which is an important step to their goal of increased/possible interactivity between Guests and the mazes themselves (in the coming years, you may not even have to be inside the maze to enjoy and interact with it).

I'm looking forward to employee preview night!

Although I should say optimism is key, I can completely see what you are talking about, if I am not wrong the last ORIGINAL coaster was Boss in 2000.. not hating on SfSTL it is a great park with lots too offer and the coaster collection is fine, but don't we deserve something original?

You know, I know that you only like roller coasters, but a lot of people, including me, don't think that JLBFM was a "buzz killer of an attraction." In fact, there are those who find it "exciting" and not in the least bit "unfortunate". But, I guess some people are just never pleased with anything.
