Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park Discussion Thread

I contacted the park and they told me that all the rides would be open in the indoor water and theme park, but "only selected rides are usually open in the outdoors and its weather permitting. We cannot tell yet what rides will be open at the outdoor for that day as we also get those information within the day as well". A little confused, I responded back asking if they try to have all rides open and they replied "If the weather is nice, coasters and go karts will be open but the whole outdoor park will be fully open memorial day". So not sure if they are just going to pick and choose what to operate..? I still plan on going, I'll update afterwards.

I went to the park for the first time last year in June and everything was open and Hades and Zeus were running great

I'm sure it's a staffing issue as well as weather

Oh please, we all know it's because the coroner hasn't completed their investigations yet.  Keep an eye out for the chalk outlines, Dan!  Good luck!

AMERICA’S FIRST SLIDEWHEEL

The time has finally come! America’s first rotating water slide is coming to Mt. Olympus Summer of 2022! The rotating water slide ‘Slidewheel’ will be a whole new element of indoor water park excitement above all else for guests to experience year round!

This new attraction combines the movement of a Ferris wheel and the speed and thrill of a water slide. The intricate tangle of tubes on a horizontal axis allows the entire ride to rotate while guests whip through it! The Slidewheel offers all the best aspects of a classic water slide, like speed, g-forces, and even the occasional bit of air time, but its rotation brings so much more to the table. Thanks to the pendulum movement, rotation and back-and-forth motions, the slide experience is like none other ever before!

^It depends when you visit.  In past seasons you could split up a few things (indoor vs. outdoor, water vs amusement) but you'll have to wait till they put up the info for this summer season if that's when you're planning to visit.

Alright, so I don't know if I'm a fool for considering stopping by this place when I'm traveling to Minnesota from SFGAm next month. Hoping for some feedback because I'm intrigued by the coasters here but also mildly terrified to stop foot inside!

In the many years since anyone has really posted any info in this thread, the cost of entry has increased to $35 (from...$7 a few years back) and parking is now $40 which is f*cking atrocious and even more so when you can't actually find that figure anywhere on their website.

I had the morbid curiosity to check the prices for their hotel since it includes free admission and noticed that rooms are $30 per night (and naturally another $80 in taxes and fees) which I know I probably shouldn't even consider doing because without reading too much into it I figure the hotel is a giant shithole and probably loud and dirty and infested with bedbugs. I will absolutely not consider staying here unless someone changes my mind.

I feel like the best course of action would be to have my wife drop me off somewhere across the street, have her go to McDonald's and read a book for a couple hours while I pay the $35 for myself since there will be nothing for her to do here, and then have her come back and pick me up. Between her ticket and parking that would save about $75.

I don't see myself needing more than two hours here. I've always wanted to check out Hades, Cyclops has always sounded like a rather good ride, I've heard decent things about Zeus, and I want to have my neck readjusted by Pegasus. If I can ride each of the four coasters and maybe get a reride or two (assuming they don't beat the shit out of me so bad that I won't even want to reride) then I would consider that worthy of my $35 before I get out of dodge.

Or should I just pretend it doesn't exist and keep on driving?

You're not wrong in most of what you said. If you're going to go though, make the most of it and try to ride all the coasters, which more than likely will take 3-4 hours, because they rarely increase cycles if it gets busier, and the staff moves like molasses. Be prepared, the coasters are definitely on the rougher side. And for your wife, if shes going to just drop you off, have her go to downtown, plenty to do there with shopping, better than sitting in the car for 3-4 hours.

Hades is top tier.  It's amazing.  Stopped here 2 summers ago.  Stayed in their hotel.  It's nothing great but there's also a ton of buildings you could end up in.  Some look much better than others.  Lines can very slow here with all coasters on 1 train and very slow workers.  Line jumping often adds to it as well.

Grateful Shed is a good restaurant in town.  Modeled to be a bunch of food trucks with a bar in the middle and a big patio.
