  1. Mt. Olympus. I went once and didn't die - why push my luck?
  2. When they first moved, the carousel was in the entrance building where the carousel-themed gift shop is now.
  3. Well, everyone that wondered how dangerous the slidewheel would be Mt. Olympus is building one for 2022.
  4. I hope they rehab the displays along with the shade - many of the bricks are discolored and cracked from being in the Florida weather for 10 years.
  5. I'd think the seniors under 48" is for grandparents to ride the kiddie rides with grandkids, but not any of the big rides on their own. (Sort of like how Little Amerricka has the different colored wristbands.)
  6. ^^ I was there in June, and at that time, that's what all the seating was like. It was at least 3 of the same 4 food stations as in these photos, so I guess they've had a long soft-open - nothing indicated it was new or still in previews. The tables are bolted to the floor, and with the high exposed ceilings and hard floors, the noise really reverberates. The food was better than we'd been expecting.

  8. I'm sure the wait in line before going into the maze "primes the pump" as it were.
  9. A Avatar Airbender (NU) B Batman (SFGAm) C Cyclops (Mt. 10. I rode Hellcat yesterday and nothing looked too new. It was bouncy, but not jackhammery. Maybe a little rougher than Thunderhead. Certainly better than Zeus, which is the only coaster I've been on that I felt like I might die on. Not from falling off, just that my spine would get so rattled it would just give up.
  11. Are the lines to get into the park an hour long on weekdays too, or just weekends? I'm considering going in the first couple days of August - willing to buy flash pass, so I'm not as worried about the other lines.
  12. I thought Lightning Rod was the only one, but after looking through my list, apparently I rode Python at SFA (Wild World at the time) in its first season there, 1993. Wouldn't have guessed it was a first season since there were closed rows with duct tape holding the OSTRs down.
  13. You see "Loch Ness Monster" trending on Facebook and your first thought is Busch Gardens, not Scotland.
  14. The inside isn't ribbed (for your pleasure ), so it's actually fairly smooth; just slightly washboarded. The places I've gone on them had carpet remnants for mats.
  15. If Mount Olympus's Manticore hasn't tipped over yet, then a star flyer at Valleyfair should have very little maintenance-related downtime.
  16. The day after marathoning Expedition Everest with them, I dragged 4 teenagers I was chaperoning on the Barnstormer so that we could say we rode all 5 MK coasters in one day. As they pointed out, we were the only group without a small child.
  17. Space Mountain with four very tired, happy kiddos, right after a walk-on Buzz Lightyear! - got all 5 MK coasters in yesterday!
  18. It may be a good idea to see your doctor - could be hypertension. (I'm pretty sure that if your BP is under control with drugs, the warning signs about high BP don't apply to you..) I've mentioned it to doctors and they never seem to think it's a big deal. I was at an appointment last month and IIRC my blood pressure was like 110/70, so I'm not sure if it's that. It sucks regardless as roller coasters have been a huge part of my life ever since I was like 10. Guess not. I had similar symptoms that went away when I started BP meds. But if it's a big deal to you, it should be a big deal to your doctors...

  20. ^ Sort of. The Pigeon Forge Hard Rock Cafe has it on the menu.
  21. On Thursday, it was the two rows in car 4, not 4 rows, that were closed off. All the ops were happy. I did notice they all had "safety trainer" on their nametags, rather than just their names.
  22. Lightning Rod at 9:55pm last night. Even more amazing in the dark, though you do miss out on the "holy shit" of the sight of the second drop!
  23. As of 6:15, l is up and running one train with two rows roped off!
