ABW
I know it's a little late, but I do still have some images of SFDK's haunt. Actually, calling this a haunt TR is stretching it, considering none of my night pictures turned out well; my camera isn't very good at picking up light. Thanks for posting the TR. How far are you from SFDK? You seem to visit there quite often.
harper83087
Is there any progress on Superman yet? I think this one might be the sleeper this year, I'm pretty excited for it.
Andrewoplis
^ Does the fact that Big spin is still open answer your question? We probably wont see anything done until 2012.
robbalvey
^ And that Big Spin is scheduled to be open through Christmas, correct?
jray21
^ I heard that as well. I hope so, I'm thinking of heading down for the Christmas event and one last ride in a week or two.

gisco
Some of the moves this park is making baffles me. Pandemonium was a good ride and they are replacing it with Superman:Ultimate Flight with one train. I just don't get it.
Dragon Khan
Having never been to this park, I cannot comment on the crowds, but indeed: no need to be rocket scientist to imagine long queues on this one. I would be surprised if SFDK was the final home of this coaster. Maybe it's one for a ride rotation programme ?
-Edge of Beast-
Well, SFDK isn't necessarily the most popular park in California, so I wouldn't expect ginormous waits for this. It'll be pretty busy, but nothing over an hour wait in line I'm assuming.
cal1br3tto
^^^Agreed. I know some (all?) Six Flags parks have been moving away from their family-oriented phase, but it still makes sense to offer a variety of thrill levels. Also, capacity was my main issue with THBS, and they're clearly not taking away that problem. Is there a chance that Six Flags Mexico simply "needs" the coaster much more than SFDK? They do have a Dark Knight wild mouse and a couple small family coasters already, though...

It'll be pretty busy, but nothing over an hour wait in line I'm assuming. Im seeing this as a 1 to 1 and half hour wait on the most crowed days. Medusa can get a 45 minute wait every easily, and that's with 2 trains each holding 32 riders per-train. But Medusa is quite a long ride, and superman is a fairly quick ride. MrSum1_55
Well, SFDK isn't necessarily the most popular park in California, so I wouldn't expect ginormous waits for this. It'll be pretty busy, but nothing over an hour wait in line I'm assuming. Here is the line for Medusa. You can't even see the end! The wait from the entrance sign alone is usually a 2 hour wait. Also, the front row line was 45 minutes, so, if you wanted to ride in the front, it would take you 3 hours. Yeah, that sounds pretty short to me. cal1br3tto
I too fear that lines could frequently be very long, and I'll be prepared for the worst when I go to ride it unless reports from comparable days suggest there's no need to worry. But I have had great luck with very popular rides having short-to-manageable lines, even without obsessive strategizing.
Andrewoplis
So, I got to check out Holiday in the park last Sunday, and I took some pictures to! My camera does not take very good night photos, but I still took some pictures of some of the cool "daytime" things. On a side note, there where a lot of rides down that day, probably do to rehab. Those rides where- Taz Boomerang Scatabout The Ark Everything in Tava's jungle land Voodoo And Skyscreamer and Pandemonium where down temporarily, and Roar and Kong's second train where both for rehab. Now onto the pictures! I'm here at SFDK for Holiday in the park! This is going to look a bit different in a matter of months. Yep The parks 2011 "new hotness" This is why I love holiday events! As much as I doubted it, I ended up liking the Windseeker's better than this one. But I think the height has to do with most (if not all) of it. Did I mention there's a giant tree? Intamin boat p0rn! I had no idea what the point of this was, but it looked cool! They also have these things located all over the park to add to the atmosphere and to keep the guests warm during the night. (It got very cold that night!) Does anyone else see whats wrong with this? Not even these cool lights can make this ride not suck, it still loves to beat the crap out of you! I bet you can't guess whats in here! Candy canes! ACE size candy canes that is! Hi Leo, hows it going? The best thing about Holiday in the Park ( Besides the sort lines) is this! So much awesome! (Did I mention its free?!) Surprisingly, Hammerhead was running. The fact that the train operator posed for me adds 10x more awesome into this photo!! Bye Bye Bigspin, you will be missed! Thanks for reading!
XYZ
It's funny how people hate Kong & the SLC's so much, but I actually like riding Kong. I think of it as riding a rough wooden coaster and I just love the feeling of unsafeness, even though I know the coaster is safe. Though, I had previous visits on Vortex, in CGA, and nothing can beat that with headbanging, though I really felt minor headbanging on Kong. My ride last week was so fun, that I wanted to ride it again, since it was a walk-on, though my friend didn't want to. So, think of me as some person that can tolerate SLCs, though I'm wondering if fun rides on Kong don't only happen to me?
154bmag
^Kong is the most "tolerable" SLC in the U.S...at least with the old trains.
DJeXeL
^And by "Tolerable" you mean severe headbanging as opposed to a concussion.

I have ridden in about every seat and found the back to be the most enjoyable, there was hardly any head banging. On the other hand Roar is insanely rough im not sure if I will ever go on that ride again unless they do some re-tracking. When I rode it I thought my spine had shifted. SoCalCoasters
^It's Northern California, it's REALLY FREAKIN COLD all the time up there in the winter. I mean, they have that snow hill there 24/7 during the Holiday In The Park Event.
DarienLaker
Well with SFDK's Big Spin going to removed, that's going to leav us with three Big Spin coasters at SFFT, SFOF, and SFStL.

SoCalCoasters
Isn't this one going to Six Flags Mexico next season? While I'm not sure if any "offical" announcement was made, they basically insinuated that's where it would be heading.
