On the coaster front, I have been excited about Invadr @ BGW since it was announced. Though I'm aware there isn't much competition in this coaster "off year", but Invadr seems like the underdog this year in terms of buzz, but from the first rendering I had high hopes that its going to be the sleeper hit of this new season. The fact that its going in the park it is only makes it better.

Also hope this is the year we finally get to ride Gale Force. Great Nor'easter should be interesting. I don't have too much enthusiasm but maybe I'll be surprised.

While RMeanC Streak should be a real treat, I'm not letting myself get jazzed up until we know when its opening. At that point I'll start pricing out a return trip to the Point. I almost hope its 2018 because I have the beginning of planning other trips this year that will make a CP visit next to impossible this year.

As far as non-coasters, I have to say I'm getting to the point where I am stoked about our new Justice League dark ride. I'm not exactly a dark ride guy, but I think it will be a great addition to our already stellar line-up, and the glowing reviews from everyone of the other installations only heightens my interest. Not to mention we'll have another indoor ride to have open during HITP next year. And here's to hoping we'll see a revitalization of Old Country in the next couple years. Maybe a giant frisbee in 2018?

It might sound lame but I'm really excited for the Wildcat and Boulder Dash refurbishments for next year. I really couldn't care less about the Joker at SFNE.

I'm also looking forward to Star Trek at Movie Park Germany and the new Vekoma coaster in Poland.

InvadR at BGW and Mystic Timbers at KI for sure as far as coasters are concerned. It will be a big

year for GCI and I wish them all the best.

As for non coaster rides. Justice League will be a welcome addition to Great Adventure.

At the moment, I probably won't be going to any parks that will be getting a new coaster in 2017, though Mystic Timbers looks like it'll be a fun ride with plenty of airtime.

I am looking forward to riding North Star at Valleyfair since I haven't ridden a StarFlyer yet and they look a bit more thrilling than Windseekers.

I'm looking forward to stuff I might actually get to ride which includes the new ride at Fun Spot, and VR on Kraken.

Also, Avatar at Animal Kingdom. I don't have high hopes for the big ride there, I know it's simulator but that's about all I know so hopefully it will be surprising, but I'm excited to check out the rest of the Pandora land more than anything. I have a feeling it's really going to be incredible even though people might not be huge fans of the IP. The short video clip of that Navi river boat ride looked stunning.

For rides confirmed to open next year, I'm most excited for SFNE's Joker since it's at my home park and Great Adventure's Joker has been closed on all 3 of my visits this year so I have yet to try an S&S Free Fly.

Of the rides I don't anticipate riding next year, it's a tie between Fun Spot's new woodie and the two new GCI woodies.

If it's indeed for 2017, RMC Mean Streak will likely be the best ride. Even if it opens this year, I likely wouldn't make my way out there since I'd want to hit that and Kennywood's new coaster on the same trip.

For me its:

InvadR at BG

-and-

Mystic Timbers at KI

-oh and-

Hopefully getting to finally ride Lightning Rod! As much as it was down in 2016, I feel like it should pretty much count as new for 2017, assuming they get the issues fixed.

Wow between that and Joker I didn't have the best luck on the new for 2016 coasters. Thankfully I did get Storm Chaser and Valravn!

Mystic Timbers by far. It looks like a top 3 American GCI. Really excited to ride my first good GCI! (Apocalypse @ SFMM was absolutely horrendous and the worst coaster I've ridden)

Great topic!

Personally I'll only name rides I actually have a shot of riding in the next few years, so these may not really be the best new things on the horizon overall but as far as I'm concerned they may as well be. I guess I'll do this as a top 10, please note that some things may have been bumped so I could shoehorn in #9 and #10 so I have an excuse to make fun of these 2 parks again. I'm also aware that Knoebels has an announcement on the way and I think everything they do is amazing so this (likely small) addition will probably be no different. Please note that I have also not included RMC Mean Streak because it's opening in 2018. Cry about it...

1) Lightning Rod... yeah I know, but let's be real. For 99% of this this might as well be a 2017 addition. We have season passes and will be making multiple trips so hopefully we finally get to ride it.

2) Fun Spot's new coaster: I love Fun Spot, and the fact that they're getting this awesome thing just makes it even better. Plus, this will make the Kissimmee location much more appealing. Between this and the crazy new flat ride they just got that park has taken a huge step forward.

3) Wintefest (Carowinds)... yeah I know, it's not a ride. I suck at following directions, but I'm more excited for this than a lot of rides coming out.

4) Gale Force (I guess it's officially a 2017 ride now)

5) InvadR

6) Mystic Timbers (this might finally get us to pull the trigger on the Kings Island / Kentucky Kingdom / Holiday World trip we've been thinking about).

7) Joker (SFNE) - This park really needs this ride. Aside from the removal of the Skyway, I feel like this park has been moving in the right direction finally and a Joker clone will only help them move forward even more.

8) Justice League (SFGADV) - I don't know much about this ride because I generally try not to pay attention to spoilers for dark rides but I've heard it's good, and a dark ride with heat in the Holiday in the Park portion of the park will be a welcome addition.

9) Dorney's stupid a** Troika and terrible Bumper Cars.

10) Hershey's clusterf*ck of S&S towers that are replacing an infinitely more interesting ride.

As a Kings Island regular, Mystic Timbers sits right at the top of my list. I look forward to clocking many rides on it and making fun of what's in the shed.

Honorable mention to Fun Spot's new Gravity Group woodie. That thing looks so sick for its size.

In terms of new installations: Gale Force is my choice for the second consecutive year.

In terms of new coasters for me: Lightning Run (followed by StormChaser, Twisted Colossus and RMC Joker) to complete the US RMC collection

I'm looking forward to pretty much everything coming to the two Cedar Fair and two Six Flags parks in California. These four parks are getting exactly what they needed.

1) All of the Knott's expansions and additions including Sol Spin, the MUCH NEEDED Soak City expansion, the extended Boysenberry Festival, and Ghost Town Alive. Can't wait to have my favorite flat ride at my home park. Now I won't have to go up to Utah to ride it!

2) Patriot at CGA. Hopefully I will make it up to this park before summer. Been dying to finally try Gold Striker, Flight Deck, and my first Stand-Up-->Floorless conversion.

3) Wonder Woman at SFDK. In addition to the Joker, Superman, Medusa, and V2, I'm very much looking forward to this frisbee. If it's anything like the Huss versions at CP and KI, I'm a happy camper. They are great rides.

4) Justice League at SFMM. Dark rides don't do much for me, but the park desperately needs an indoor attraction with (hopefully) AC, and it will draw some crowds to an increasingly dying area of the park.

2017 may not be a big coaster year, but many parks (particularly in the CF and SF chains) are getting much needed improvements and additions.

New for 2017 I'll likely get to ride this year:

1. Gale Force, Playland's Castaway Cove - This is weird to say, but yes, a Jersey Shore coaster is my most anticipated. WTF. But it does look seriously cool.

2. Tailspin Racer, Dollywood - I've never been on a mat racer with the enclosed tubes at the top. Looks like fun!

3. Dropline, Dollywood - Drop towers are a favourite ride type for me, and this one looks to be very good.

4. Eurofighter, Casino Pier - Well, it's certainly not going to be the best Eurofighter I've ever been on, but it does look good.

5. Hershey's Triple Towers, Hersheypark - This is kind of a poster child for "there's a reason some things have never been done before," but I enjoy the S&S shot towers, so I'll give this one a go.

New for 2017 I'll ride later:

1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, Disney California Adventure

2. New Coaster, Fun Spot Kissimmee

3. Thunder Rapids, Six Flags Fiesta Texas

4. Mystic Timbers, Kings Island

5. Invadr, Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Rides I'll likely get to ride for the first time this year:

1. Phoenix, Knoebels

2. Lightning Rod, Dollywood

3. Skyrush, Hersheypark

4. El Toro, Six Flags Great Adventure

5. Cyclone Saucers, Beech Bend

6. Demon Drop, Dorney Park

If we're looking at coasters I'm likely to ride next year, it would probably be the new Intamin inverted coaster at Djurs. It looks like it will be a ton of fun. Maybe I'll do a trip to Germany this year, in that case the new Star Trek themed coaster at Movie Park looks promising.

I should get a few new coaster rides with the trips I have planned for 2017. My number one will be Wave Breaker @ SeaWorld San Antonio. Also Joker @ SFOT, but I've rode Batman @ SFFT before, so Joker isn't high on my list. I will ride InvadR at BGW too, but Mystic Timbers @ KI looks more promising. It'll be between Wave Breaker and Mystic Timbers for me.
