SixFlagsAstroworld Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) I couldn't find a thread like this so if there is, post the link please. What clone do you think is better than the others? I think Speed of Sound at Walibi Holland is the best boomerang clone because of the new cars and the theme. Edited October 4, 2016 by SixFlagsAstroworld
coasterbill Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 If we can use something with 1 or 2 clones then iSpeed is about to clean house. If it has to be something with a more significant number than I'll go with Batman the Ride.
LeoBruz199 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 ^^I second that. Eqwalizer would be a close second, again for the new trains and theme.

This thread is to pinpoint which cloned coaster stands out from the other clone
coasterbill Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Oh okay I've got it. That could be read a few different ways but this is actually a pretty interesting topic then. The rides that come to mind for me are any Giant Inverted Boomerang that's not Goliath at SFNE since the train they put on that is brutal or Ride of Steel at Darien Lake since the layout makes no sense at Six Flags America but all of the flat, low to the ground sections are racing over the water at Darien Lake.
michaellynn4 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I think the rule of thumb is that the original is usually the best. The coaster was designed with the terrain / landscaping in mind, which can really add to the experience in some cases. Batman at SFGAm (over the trees/water) and Superman at SFoG (close to ground, tunnels) come to mind first.
Ed Farmer Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Batman The Ride. I wouldn't even care if my park had two of them.
boldikus Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Superman at SFoG (close to ground, tunnels) come to mind first. That's my answer.
gerstlaueringvar Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) A few came to mind: Mega-Lite clones: Kawasemi Eejanaika/Dinoconda: Eejanaika Batman clones: SWSA Bullet Coaster clones: Shenzhen Sheikra clones: Happy Valley Shanghai because extra airtime Edited October 5, 2016 by gerstlaueringvar
DoinItForTheFame Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Of all the Batman: The Ride clones I've been on, I prefer the one at SFOT most.
Stonem Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 The Boomerang Vekoma @ Wiener Prater because of the new trains with lap bars And Diabolik Invertigo @ Movieland as it has music onboard, great color scheme and because you can stay next to the cobra roll with the guests almost touching you going up on the Stukas waterslide stairs
Password121 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Nitro is definitely the best out of all its clones. Oh wait they're not clones... oh...
viking86 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I think Speed of Sound at Walibi Holland is the best boomerang clone because of the new cars and the theme. Have to agree with this one, definitely the best boomerang I've ridden. The trains, theme and the music makes it a cool experience! Of the BTR clones I think Batman la Fuga at Parque Warner might be the best, due to the theming and interactions with the buildings. Pic from the TPR park index
cal1br3tto Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Of all the Batman: The Ride clones I've been on, I prefer the one at SFOT most. I'm not crazy! The first time I rode it, I thought it was easily the best. If I'm ever proven wrong, I'd probably say Vampire at La Ronde takes the top spot for Batmans (despite being at La Ronde).
michaellynn4 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 What separates the Batman at SFoT for you guys? Is it the dives through those semi-tunnels at the end? I didn't even realize that version did that until I pulled it up on Google Maps just now. Looks really cool!
Nrthwnd Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 ...I think Speed of Sound at Walibi Holland is the best boomerang clone because of the new cars and the theme. Totally agree with this. I rode it over a year ago, and was surprised how smooth it felt, and how much I got into the total experience of the ride! It felt much more than "just a Boomerang coaster." The tunnel with the lights helped. The paint job and cars helped. There was a soundtrack of some kind, not sure where it came from, but it still worked for me, LOL! Lovely.
Nrthwnd Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 ...I think the rule of thumb is that the original is usually the best. Could happen. But not this time. ~ El Condor, also in Walibi Holland. ~ Sept.12, 2015 (I did not ride it.)
SteelForceless Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Personally, my favorite boomerangs are the one with the new vest restraints such as Sidewinder and Carolina Cobra. Sidewinder is still a bit painful because of slamming your head into the seat when it brakes and the track is still rough as hell, but it still beats out other boomerangs... The Boomerang Vekoma @ Wiener Prater because of the new trains with lap bars Forget everything I just said. ...I think the rule of thumb is that the original is usually the best. Could happen. Even if it were the best, that's not saying much. Being the best SLC is like being the best vacuum cleaner on the market. Sure, you might be the best, but you still suck.

JordyC Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 ...I think the rule of thumb is that the original is usually the best. Could happen. This is so true! This thing tries to rip your head of during the entire ride..
grsupercity Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I like SLC's. There very intense little rides

I agree with this barring any restraint improvements in later designs or restraint modifications later on that make certain rides run like sh*t (cough, Goliath at SFNE).
thrillrider Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I've been on most slc coasters in the states, and for some reason the Michigan's adventure version is the only tolerable one. Weird thing is, when it was at Geauga lake I felt the same way about it.
