fatdaddy Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Okay, FINAL hard hat tour before next months opening, yes it will opening May 23rd! Great news, and with a train being tested yesterday and plans for more tests after hours starting tonight theres no reason to think they won't hit their mark. So first off a few pictures of the Scream Punk District and then onto Twisted Colossus! Here ya go... Here to see progress on this! I see you in there. Glad these aren't the real trains. Not a selfie stick! Fresh paint, looking good! If you had any doubts about the paint on Scream...IT'S AWESOME! Geared toward coaster fans...HA! Cause they are gears! Really like the wood panels. Lighting. Scream Punk landscaping. This is all theming, pretty cool. Poopers getting a makeover. Shut up and have a sandwich! Up stairs for Twisted 'Wiches, down stairs for Twisted Colossus. Very useful. Sign of the times...HA! Casue they're signs! Okay, there's the Scream Punk District. Looks like they actually put some thought into it. Up next...TWISTED COLOSSUS!!!
fatdaddy Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Okay, lots of pictures! Taking a break, this is only about half. More to come.
fatdaddy Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) And still more pictures! Couldn't decide if this was theming or a snack. Theming! Of course they took us to the station as well, pictures coming... Edited April 30, 2015 by fatdaddy
GCI Wooden Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Words can not describe how strange this looks:
cfc Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 This ride looks like something a madman would design--the right sort of madman.
fatdaddy Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 It's wierd editing pictures and seeing all these angles that just CAN'T be right, but then you check the horizon line and those crazy twists are really there! It was said that it runs so smooth that you can hardly hear it until it's right on top of you...awesome!
markysharky17 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 That porta potty and Twizler theming is amazing! This theming blows Disneys away!
TyRush Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 This ride looks like something a madman would design--the right sort of madman. Like a madman Schilke?
robbalvey Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Sorry if some of your responses got removed. I wanted to clean things up a bit to get all of Caesar's photos on one page. Feel free to post your comments again!
fatdaddy Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Okay, final set of pictures from the station. Trains! Control panel porn. No, that's not Wonder Woman, that's Connie. She did however save us with bottle of cold water. Pretty sure this gets filled with nachos. Even the trees are twisted! If you know where to stand. Well, there you have it. Thanks for looking, hope to see you on Twisted Colossus next month! Leave a comment!
COASTERelic Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 The structure is so WHITE and the track just POPS. Love how they actually are in the process of painting most of the steal beam white. Makes a huge difference in the overall appearance. We should also give a little credit to the theming. Thumbs up RMC/MM.
dippindotsguy8 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Great photos! I think it's safe to assume this will be the best coaster in the park when it opens.
JJLehto Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 That twisting double down thing on the green track. Holy carp! And I feel such a fool now, years ago I was thinking "Hm only Intamin does anything anymore and I hope coasters haven't hit their stale point" then came RMC, and B&M stepping outside their box.
ioio Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Great photos! I think it's safe to assume this will be the best coaster in the park when it opens. I never thought anything would top X2 for me (my #1 steel coaster), but TC or WC looks to be possible close contenders (for the first time ever)...!
JJLehto Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Great photos! I think it's safe to assume this will be the best coaster in the park when it opens. I never thought anything would top X2 for me (my #1 steel coaster), but TC or WC looks to be possible close contenders (for the first time ever)...! Yeah, I still have MForce holding onto my #1 spot! I've been waiting for someone to dethrone it and despite some close calls, none have. I think one of these RMCs may be the one to do it.
Jew Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Like that they are doing more than a paint job to the are around Colossus!
rcdude Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Twisted Colossus looks great, and the rest of Screampunk District appears to be turning out good as well. More than anything, I think this shows that SFMM does care about their park and is doing what they feel is best for their target audience. I can't wait to ride Twisted Colossus and will be there opening day if possible (yes, I think this will be worth a 3-4 hour wait...once).
brneff99 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Has there been any announcement or discussion about whether they are actually going to have a show or something of that nature in the theater again?? How long has it been since it was actually utilized for anything other than group stuff like Q&A at WCB...?
KBrylczyk Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Swizzeet. Where do I sign up to be a water dummy?
Jew Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Has there been any announcement or discussion about whether they are actually going to have a show or something of that nature in the theater again?? How long has it been since it was actually utilized for anything other than group stuff like Q&A at WCB...? I think they have a different act in their every summer. I remember a terrible magician and a Chinese acrobat troupe in the last few years?
coasterlvr Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I really like the look/color of the blue train. thanks for the great update, Caesar!

How long has it been since it was actually utilized for anything other than group stuff like Q&A at WCB...? there's gonna be a cirque-esque show in there when the district opens.
Waltrane Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Fatdaddy. You sir are a rock star. Those are some amazing pictures! Thank you for sharing!
Comeagain? Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 It's interesting to see how the trains in storage don't rest on the road wheels here. When I was at RMC's shop while they were making the track for TC, they were currently working on "the most twisted piece of track [he'd] seen so far". Definitely looks like it!
ZeroGravity55 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Great pictures! This ride looks crazy! It's interesting to see how the trains in storage don't rest on the road wheels here. When The Voyage was being designed, HW's maintenance team actually requested that they design the storage area to where the trains rest on the upstop wheels. This supposedly makes it easier to get up under the trains to work on stuff and inspect them.
