Duff Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Rock 'n Roller Coaster at Disney-MGM Studios, FL. I rode the year it opened in 1999. I recall the launch was an incredible rush. The rest of it was a smooth, easy-to-ride coaster that had very little intensity or surprises. Even back then, I thought it was appropriate for families.
Nrthwnd Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Tidal Wave at (then) Mariott's Great America
rcjp Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 ^Yes it is rough but it still great! I think this caption of a picture from the 2007 Spain tour says it right. It might be rough, but OMG it's sooooo good!
galahad Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I remember the last ride I took on it on that occasion! I was appropriately drunk and it was almost night... Amazing sense of speed and one of the best coaster experiences I can remember...
Seddy Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 My first launch coaster was Viper at SFOG. I still remember being able to ride it like 4 or 5 times without having to get back in line. Good times....
GwaziBSRider1 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 For me, it was Wicked Twister opening year. I still remember exactly what I said when I walked off it: "It didn't impress me." To this day, it still doesn't.

Seriously, Rob.... that's your high-tech, park approved video mounting equipment? Duct Tape?

Diamondbacker27 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 ^That's right. Mythbusters anyone? I've seen that one
jd5189 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Batman and Robin: The Chiller at SFGA on the Robin side!
redfoot12 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Thunderlooper at Alton Towers  Same. Except it was King Kobra at Kings Dominion when I rode it.
screaminkid2005 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Mine was Superman: The Escape (Left Side) SFMM
SingleRiderCam Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm. What a powerful first launch coaster.
DrachenfireOP Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Flight of Fear at KD when it had those awful OTS restraints...
ytterbiumanalyst Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Mr. Freeze at Six Flags St. Louis, 1998. Still the best ride in the park.
