They wouldn't have set an opening date if they didn't think with 99% certainty they were going to make it. That's why they waited until now to actually announce it. Unless somebody manages to set the damned thing on fire again, it'll be open. Iron Reef at Knott's is still on schedule to be open on May 15th. The Puente Hills Mall is open 365 days a year, so you should be good there.

Guest: "Why is the ride closed?" Me: "We're closed due to the rain" Guest: "When will it be back open?" Me: "....when it stops raining." -
Can you explain to me how wet track can cause a Roll Back when Trains Travel Faster on Wet Track? I don't know the physics behind it, but that's what happens apparently. I heard from a friend who is a team lead that whatever part / system they were working on failed and now they have to basically redo everything they just did. There was also mention of potential overheating of the launch system.

Yikes! It was supposed to come back up yesterday, but I figured they just kept it closed because of the weather. Ghost Rider was supposed to go down for this coming week, but it looks like they decided to wait on that until Xcel goes back up. Was it down for scheduled maintenance in the first place or why? And why now another 2 week delay. This is California, it barely rained. There is no storm coming lol. It was scheduled to be down from April 14-24. Xcel goes down in even light rain, because wet track = rollbacks. I haven't found anyone who knows exactly what the deal is... apparently, it went up for a little while today and then back down.

Each camera takes a photo of one row, and they're place don both sides of the track so that nobody gets their photo cut off by being on the wrong side. The park is boxed in on all sides, and a significant portion of the land (Ghost Town) is kind of untouchable. There is hair all over the park, and I don't understand it. Its like working in a barber shop when I come in for an opening shift and sweep up. Glad you enjoyed your visit!

3:25 - 3:31 "Hypers are usually out and backs, and out and backs don't have loops". Then in the video montage they show Goliath (not an out and back) and then Joker's Jinx which is not a hyper, not an out and back, and does have inversions Okay... -
Clearly, it's slower than normal. Let's all ask I305forever any other engineering questions... Mega Coaster, Hamanako Pal Pal: Ht- 124.7 ft, Spd- 51 mph Big Boom, Nasu Highland: Ht- 126 ft, Spd- 54.7 mph Anaconda, Kings Dominion: Ht- 144, Spd- 50 mph It's actually a reasonable speed, you have no reason to be disappointed. It does seem a tad slow to me. Silver Bullet's drop is only 109 ft, and at a very shallow angle, but it reaches 55mph. One would think that an extra 15 feet, plus a much steeper drop would yield more than 2 mph of extra speed. Maybe TCs trains just aren't that heavy?

Boysenberry Food review, pt 1. Boysenberry Beer / Cider - The cider is rather sweet and slightly tart, and the beer is light without a lot of boysenberry taste. Mixing them is the best bet I think, and they don't mind doing it. It's expensive, but so is all beer at theme parks. Served at the Calico Saloon Chicken & Sausage Sandwich w/ Boysenberry BBQ Sauce - Pretty great actually. The sauce compliments the meat and peppers well, it's a slightly sweet BBQ sauce that actually don't have a ton of boysenberry presence. A bit expensive (8 or 9 bucks), but pretty well filling. Served at a stand next to the Calico Square RR crossing. BBQ sauce is being sold in the General Store. Boysenberry Stuffed Churro - Amazing. It's a year round item, but it's definitely worth having. Since the park was fairly busy, they were constantly replenishing the supply, so it was totally fresh. Served at the Churro Factory in Calico Square, next to the Saloon. Boysenberry Frappucino - Skip it. It's milk, boysenberry syrup, sweetener, and ice. It's more colorful than flavorful, like a lightly flavored (but still sweet) milkshake. I might try the latte. Boysenberry Dessert Flautas - Pretty darn good. Crispy outside, gooey and sweet inside, and the powdered sugar compliments it perfectly. Served at Ghost Town Grub, which is across from the old display locomotive and next to the Spinner's Porch.

I was feeling brave and decided to take a chance on GhostRider. Sitting in the middle of the train was tolerable but not much better than that. I really hope that they park actually goes through with the long rehab that's been in the works and keeps getting pushed back. Hopefully it'll go down for a good 3 or 4 months and come back without needing the midcourse brake.
