  1. Thursday will be fine at Knott's, especially since you're going early in the season.
  2. No spoilers though! Not knowing beforehand is such a big part of what makes it scary.
  3. I would choose Riddler because it's by far the more forceful of the two, and it can be a little uncomfortable on the feet sometimes with all the G's.
  4. Alone in Trapped? You're a braver man than I... (and I work at Scary Farm) I didn't buy a Trapped ticket for this year based off of last years being doo doo. How does this years look? The designers and employees for Trapped are very good at keeping secrets, so I don't know what's in it this year. But... from the discussions I've heard around Haunt... they know last year was a big let down from 2012, and they have been working very hard to not let it happen again. Hopefully I'll get to see it next week during their dress rehearsal night and let you all know how great it is.
  5. Rough? Are we going on the same ride? I've never been on it when it wasn't typical B&M smooth as glass. I haven't ridden in the back in quite a few years, so that might be a little different. Also... it's funny that people are saying it's rough, considering it shares a park with VIPER and X and (formerly) PSYCLONE, which are some of the jerkiest rides I've ever been on.
  6. Yes. Its why Ninja and Gold Rusher are still fun and why Tatsu is better than most of the flyers out there. Flying through trees and terrain is much more fun than a parking lot. But Bizarro doesn't fly through the trees like a terrain coaster. The area is framed by trees, but the actual footprint of the ride is basically just grass.
  7. Alone in Trapped? You're a braver man than I... (and I work at Scary Farm)
  8. I don't get all the Scream hate. It's the same ride as Medusa/Bizarro that everyone loves. Yes, the theme job was extraordinarily lazy, and the title is rather generic sounding but the ride itself is fun! Does being built over grass vs pavement really make that huge of a difference to the ride experience?
  9. Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's Berry Farm!
  10. Flashback at SFMM I was like 11, and I only rode it once, so I barely remember it.
  11. Phantom of the Opera and Wicked are the two that got me hooked on it (and the ones I've seen the most). Other faves are: A Chorus Line, Beauty and the Beast, Ragtime, Side Show, Hello Dolly, and Next to Normal
  12. I remember when Xcelerator was brand new, I was talking about it to a friend and being exceptionally stoked that it had a 90 degree drop, since that was still pretty rare at the time. He was adamant about the fact that it couldn't possibly be 90 degrees, because the trains would fall off the track. I tried explaining the up-stop wheel concept to him, but he didn't believe me.
  13. Psyclone at SFMM Viper at SFMM Those two are probably the worst I've ever been on. Notable runner-ups include: GhostRider at KBF (circa 2009 - present) Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland (post 2012 rehab) Desperado at Buffalo Bill's
  14. Goliath at SFMM, I can't remember if it was 6 or 8 times.
  15. When working with torches, it's an OSHA requirement that you have a fire extinguisher with you. But..... a lot of crews get lazy and don't feel like lugging them around every time they move to a new spot. My dad was an engineer / project manager for years, and he said he was constantly having to yell at guys about fire extinguishers.
  16. I'm a Knott's Scary Farm monster, and was very lucky to spend last season as the Green Witch.
  17. Are they still enforcing the lo**er policy at Tatsu? That one really frosted my A, because when you get to the station, you can see the shelves they built specifically for the purpose of holding people's stuff. *grumble grumble, money grab, grumble*
  18. So much potential? It has so much reality. B&M designed what the park had the budget and the space for, and it's still an incredible piece of engineering.
  19. Well then.... I got a chance to take a construction tour of one of the new mazes (Voodoo) a couple days ago, and let me just say.... The craftsmanship of this thing is UNREAL. Almost none of the decorating has started yet, but the main structures and the facade are up, and it's an incredible undertaking. I am very very excited to see the finished product.
  20. Late to the party here, bu I am ALL ABOUT musicals and also roller coasters, so this is great for me.
  21. Guilty ...you get annoyed whenever someone calls a vertical loop a "loop-de-loop". You might be a coaster nerd if you wince and become annoyed when people call every inversion a loop. Took the words out of my mouth.
  22. Is there an official thread for Halloween Haunt?
  23. Luckily it's being run on a reservation time system, not a regular line. At the start of the night, people will sign up for a mission time and then return in groups of 15-20 to actually go through. There are also two separate trails that will run through camp snoopy, so 3-4 groups can be going through at a time. The capacity will be significantly lower than a maze, but shouldn't be quite the disaster that Mirror Mirror was last year.
