This is pretty simple, name a park you can think of off the top of your head and what you think their next coaster/ride that will probably be scrapped. I'll start:

Six Flags Over Texas: This is kind of a tough one, but I say La Vibora may be the next one to go because it is a little outdated.

Hmm... I'm gonna go with Busch Gardens Tampa and I'm gonna say Scorpion.

I can see them removing it and sending it off to Mexico

Valleyfair - Excalibur. It will probably be staying for several more years, but once they do need to scrap a coaster, Excalibur will be it.

I hate to say it but when the time comes I think SFMM will scrap Ninja, even before Viper. Although I actually enjoy Viper.

I disagree. I think Corkscrew is more likely, given its age. Plus the land Excalibur sits on isn't really ideal for construction. However Arrows everywhere are in the high risk category, IMO, so who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.

I actually think Arrow coasters are better off than others. Many of them are still around and are still popular. Plus, with S&S, as hit-and-miss as they are, which bought some of Arrow's assets, parks can call them up for replacement trains and adjustments to their beloved capacity monsters.

As it goes for coasters around here... Ninja would be most likely to go. Or maybe Apocalypse, since nothing seems to last that long in that corner of the park.

Are we talking "scrapping" as in tearing out and destroying, or are we just talking removing and selling?

I think any coaster that has a decreasing ridership (due to whatever reason)/or a highly increasing cost would be way up on the list. A couple major "scrapped" that come to mind first are:

Mean Streak (could be reworked by RMC)

The Boss (again, could be reworked by RMC)

Gwazi (unless it's already closed, I don't follow BGT all that much)

I think most of the older Arrows are pretty safe still, except for maybe Cedar Points Corkscrew, and that might happen if Rougarou is very popular and ridership declines significantly

If Stinger doesn't open next season it's not opening at all. Gwazi will be gone within five years. I don't think Vortex at Carowinds is going anywhere. It has semi-fresh paint, is reliable, decently smooth and holds a line.

With Cedar Fair getting ride of Skyrider and Mantis, I can only hope Shockwave at Kings Dominion is next to go. I would much rather see it replaced with asphalt. I don't know how soon, but I can see Gwazi being next. I'm surprised it hasn't been torn down yet as it was already in terrible condition when I went last year in March and on top of the fact they've had one side officially closed off for the longest time now.

Seriously? You'd rather have an awful slab of asphalt in place of a(n apparently subpar) roller coaster? I understand that you don't like it but it still continues to operate reasonably.

Very much so. I can tolerate a lot of rides but Shockwave is just a flat out terrible ride and I wouldn't lose any sleep if it got replaced with nothing.

Shockwave seems to be very popular... sure it doesn't have much of a queue line but it's still frequently spilling out the entrance. I don't see why they'd remove it unless it was a maintenance / lack of spare parts issue.

The next coaster to be removed at SFGAdv is a lot harder to predict (now that Rolling Thunder is gone) because I just don't see them removing anything from their current lineup anytime soon. However, for the sake of discussion, I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Dark Knight coaster. If they do end up doing an overhaul to Old Country to get that reopened again, I could potentially see this on the chopping block. However, that's still a bit of a longshot.

Arrows are at high risk just due to age so it could be Corkscrew for sure but they just repainted it in 2011 and it still runs pretty well for an Arrow. I just think Excalibur will be first because it just does not have the ridership, especially compared to Cork Screw. They shut it down during Haunt and it usually only runs 1 train unlike CS which runs 2 about half the time. Parks usually take out their least performing coasters in terms of ridership provided it is not a physical issue with the ride (and due to CS's age that could be a factor like you say but I still say Excalibur.) And I hear you on the land where Excalibur sits currently but they did build Excalibur there and Renegade also in the flood zone so the park is not against putting new rides back there. The limits on available land for VF to expand due to the flood zones is tough for the park. They are either going to have to remove a coaster to add one or move/remodel parts of the parking lot to create space. Going to be interesting over the next few years and how it plays out.

It seems like the Bizarro rumor has finally settled down but for awhile everyone thought that ride would be relocated to another park. I always thought it was a stupid rumor but 2-3 years ago everyone was convinced that it's days were numbered.
