canadianparkfan
Now that it's April 2nd everywhere in the world, I have to say that the April Fool's prank email of the coaster being an RMC/S&S collaboration of a terrain 4D Free Spin with two launches, a lift, and multiple trenches was nicely done. I know this is totally off topic, but was looking back through the archives, of when people were speculating what this ride would be, and stumbled upon this post. I had to lol, simply because after reading the post closely, I noticed the prank was *somewhat* right, even though it was most likely meant to be total BS. They got the RMC part right, as well as the lift and terrain elements. Thought the freespin and launch was also kinda funny, seeing as two freespins and a launched woodie have been announced for other parks since then. Anyway, back on topic, this coaster looks amazing! Love the documentary series they're doing with the construction too!

KBrylczyk
^ Vekoma is the business liaison for RMC in Europe. RMC is building it, Vekoma is handling the paperwork.
DJeXeL
Vekoma is allowed to represent and sell RMC coasters outside of the US market. ^Edit: Beat me to it.
RCT3Bross
Vekoma just learned how to make a wooden coaster: Let some specialist do it and cash in on it yourself. As long as they let RMC do as they please, I don't want an other Loup Garou or Robin Hood (2 of Vekoma's own woodies). I mean they have nice lay-outs but the pain. I heard Thundercoaster was actually a really good ride. Also is the roughness because of Vekoma's building style or just because of poor maintenance and age? viking86
I heard Thundercoaster was actually a really good ride. Also is the roughness because of Vekoma's building style or just because of poor maintenance and age? Thundercoaster was good, but based on my experiences with that ride it is starting to become a long time ago. I don't know excactly what has caused it to become as rough as it is, but it's not surprising considering that it's a fairly aggressive ride. I do seem to recall having heard that it was not designed for the Vekoma trains (the ride was designed by Allott and Lomax), but please don't take my word for it as I do not have any official source and it's a long time since I heard that. Probably we're talking about a combination of causes. Unfortunately various retracking/reprofiling over the years have taken away some of the intensity that the ride once was famous for, and those parts which doesn't have new track do not track well at all. The other two Vekoma woodies I cannot say anything about...
_koppen
Love this shot from their Facebook! I heard Thundercoaster was actually a really good ride. Also is the roughness because of Vekoma's building style or just because of poor maintenance and age? TC was a great ride before, and I've heard this was also the case for the one's in Holland and Belgium. I would say that it's like the other wooden coasters in the world, if you don't take care of more than you absolutely have to, then they will slowly die. Could indeed be poor maintenance, knowing Walibi they rarely go beyond the absolute necesary. But I remember reading somewhere that Vekoma had no fun in building them either. So I think now they are on the right track now with they cooperation with RMC. And like I said Vekoma has some great lay-outs (I mean their SLC lay-outs are good looking) but Vekoma is naturally known to associate with pain, wich is kind-off too bad. gerstlaueringvar
This might be the most challenging terrain for a coaster's construction I guess? Good luck to the RMC and Kolmården team, hope everything goes smoothly.
