I like coasters that are extremely tall and fast. Ideally I'd like the coaster to be smooth but the transitions to be fast and out of control. It's also a major plus if the coaster doesn't have over the shoulder restraints. Finally... I'd like the ride to have ridiculous airtime.

So basically I want it to be El Toro.

Hard to say. I mostly prefer something like Outlaw Run, Maverick, Mega-Lite, Magnum and Powder Keg. But some coasters like Viper SFGAm, Whizzer, Screamin' Eagle, Demon SFGAm, Viper SFMM, Gemini are my absolutely love.

So basically... Anything but Hades360.

I am a Hypercoaster, invert, and floorless coaster person for sure. But I like everything!

I pretty much like everything but maybe I would stand out, as a coaster type, inverts and floorless rides as I'm yet to ride one I didn't like. I don't know but, even if they aren't awesome, there is just something about those rides that makes them feel complete and do their job very well.

Something customized. It doesn't need to be that big, fast or have inversions as long as it's not a clone. A good theme also wouldn't hurt, but it also doesn't have to be overly themed, the ride has to be the main focus. For example Linnunrata - Linnanmäki and Daemonen - Tivoli are like this.

I do like inversions on coasters but not when they are overdone.

I like long coasters that don;t either get boring at the end or try to kill you.

Some of my favourite coaster types:

B&M Floorless,

Big Grizzly Mountain

Intimidator 305

Apollo's Chariot.

Launched, indoor, inverted, heavily themed, and compact coasters have very special places in my heart. Mix any of these, and you have a winner in my book. Some of my favorites include (but are not limited to):

-Spongebob's Rock Bottom Plunge

-Wicked Twister

-Flight of Fear

-Dare Devil Dive

-Volcano

I love it when a coaster takes you through elements and inversions really quickly (front/back row of Wicked Twister), but I don't want to get beaten up in the process.

My "kind" of coaster has something that makes it stand out in terms of ride experience. So to make a coaster one of my favorites it needs to stand out in one or many of the following: forces/intensity, extreme pacing, extreme/abundant air, and be something that doesn't beat the crap out of you. I do prefer an excellent wooden coaster to a great steel coaster, but in general I'm not very picky as long as I as I get off of it with that "Holy Crap! What just happened?" feeling.

Of course we all have those laugh and giggle personal favorite coasters, but the extreme rush I get from the more intense coasters is what keeps me going as an enthusiast.

My favorite would go to Hyper coasters, but usually I will "like" any coaster that is fun to ride and doesn't beat you to death. I like Flying, inverted, bobsled, Wingrider, suspended, etc etc. However I do NOT like stand-up coasters, but I think that's pretty much the only one I really don't hate.

I don't think there's a magic recipe to make a great coaster, I mean there are some fairly small coasters that are sometimes better than gigantic rides. For example I'd take a ride on Maverick @ Cedar Point anytime before taking one on Millenium Force, even tough it's a third as tall and way slower (but it does look a LOT faster than MF when you're on it !!!!!!)

Speed. I love me some speed. Cuz with speed comes intensity. I like those forces that come with the speed. Of course, the ride has to be smooth as well. Height is cool, but a ride doesn't have to be really tall to be good. Long rides rock. Lap bars are better than over the shoulder restraints. I'm not a big fan of them, with the exception of i305's. very comfy restraints. I love flying coasters too. My favorite loop is a pretzel loop. I'm not a cobra roll person(most of the time). I also love some good ole effects like fire and smoke in a ride.

Multiloopers/megaloopers

They can be floorless/standing/sitting/B&M/Arrow/whatever, I love the inversion after inversion layouts these rides have ... aside for the intamin loopers, hate those consecutive rolls, it just feels cheap.

I LOVE Arrows - I know call me weird.

Also anything with large drops (Millennium Force) and/or quick turns (Maverick).

My 3 favorite coaster types are hypers, B&M inverts and Schwarzkopf loopers. I also like coasters with a lot of track so you get a lot of "value" for your time spent in line.

That's a good point. I've always felt that rides like Kingda Ka were terrible "value" even though it is pretty fast and tall. (but then non-coaster rides like drop towers are even worse)

B&M Inverts have become one of my favorite rides. Been on Montu, Alpengeist, and both sides of Dragon Challenge, and all of them are fun in their own ways. I've yet to go on a Batman clone though.
