coasternut
I'm not at the WCB today at Knotts, so I don't know if there's any live updates from management. The Knotts website now says Xcelerator is down until April 30 !!! When will it all end???
FitchCoaster
I tried the bacon and chocolate funnel cake today at WCB. It sounded both amazing and dangerous the first time I heard of it, and I was pretty hesitant in eating it, but it was actually not all that bad. It was great, actually! My being really hungry at the time probably helped the taste, but it was actually pretty good. I hope it was popular enough today that it remains on the menu... I'd try another one! gforce532
Jezze, I remeber back in october looking at the possible Dec 18, 2009 reopening. I would never had guessed it would take this long. Well at least we have california screamin, so I can get my monthly dose of intamin coaster credit.
nln00b
Just got back from there. I made a commitment to ride all the Coasters there. Boomerang was closed (thank god), and so was Xcelerator. I should go again when its open. It's opening soon I think. I have to say, I LOVED Supreme Scream, I don't know why, I just did.

austinlee
Strange. The parks website says Boomerang is closed from 3/15-3/26. I have usually found their ride closure list to be accurate.
SharkTums
^From what I understand they opened Boomerang just for us!
nln00b
I checked the website the night before we went. It said the same thing. It was closed. I went on the 16th.
austinlee
^^ OK, that explains it. That's very cool.
rcdude
^From what I understand they opened Boomerang just for us! If this is indeed true, Knott's obviously tried pretty hard to make sure WCB attendees could get all the credits they wanted. This just makes them even more awesome. fpsphil
ya thats pretty cool that they opened it just for us, i guess thats why they were testing it for so long before ERT
Dietcokevan
KBF's website now has Xcelerator closed till April 30th. http://www.knotts.com/public/visit/schedule/index.cfm (scroll down) I am now questioning if it will be open for my visit in May... Jew
^That doesn't necessarily mean anything. They're just blocking out the whole month because they don't have a firm date yet. As it was mentioned at WCB, they are waiting on the state's final report to see if any additional repairs/modifications will be needed.
BeachKidBoy
I agree with you about Mystery Lodge. My parents and I watched it the year it opened. All three of us thought it was a disappointment and very boring too. Those old Haunt shirts and hats definitely should have been discounted. The best part of Mystery Lodge was at Haunt '09 when it was Terror of London. And that wasn't all that great.
Bolliger&Mabillard
I saw some Xcel testing this morning when I dropped off my GF for work (like 9:20ish?). They were only testing purple and it was creeping over the tophat, but it's looking good and seems like its good to go. One can only hope it'll be up soon. the ghost
I agree with you about Mystery Lodge. My parents and I watched it the year it opened. All three of us thought it was a disappointment and very boring too. Those old Haunt shirts and hats definitely should have been discounted. The best part of Mystery Lodge was at Haunt '07 when it was 13 Murder Manor. And that wasn't all that great. FIXED! I would much rather have scares than theming, and I didnt go to Murder Manor in 2008, but the maze was good in 2007. Terror of London is where knotts failed most in my opinion. The maze was (almost) HHN quality, but the maze was empty, I got like one scare, and the maze is huge.
fpsphil
Good to hear xcelerator is testing still, I wonder if the state has issued their report yet but I would assume they have because of the disappearance of the red train to be rebuilt. Hopefully it really is just a few weeks out from reopening at this point. Also when I was in the park earlier in the week, the on-ride camera and displays in the photo booth were being reinstalled In other Knotts new I thought I'd post that they were filming another ride warrior commercial on Wensday, they had the camera attachment on supreme screen and the banner turned around on the yellow tower. PAL
Xcel's blue train was looking very lonely today, just sitting in the station at one heck of a long red light. Spoke with the ride ops next door at Supreme Scream. They said it was testing again this morning.
Tmcdllr
OMG...CHOCOLATE...BACON...FUNNEL CAKE!!! Knott's adds chocolate and bacon to funnel cake menu Chocolate. Bacon. Funnel cake. Three of my favorite things in the world. But is putting them all together too much of a good thing? Apparently not at Knott's Berry Farm, where chocolate bacon funnel cake is being added to the menu. This over-the-top culinary concoction started where all good theme-park food trends do these days, on Twitter. Meghan Gardner, a spokeswoman for Knott's Berry Farm, said that the park sent out a tweet asking followers what funnel cake toppings they would like to see added to the menu. Chocolate and bacon was the winner. So, the Buena Park, Calif., theme park created a funnel cake drizzled with chocolate syrup and topped with chopped bacon. It was supposed to be a temporary item, Gardner said. But it proved so popular that the new snack has been added to the permanent menu at the park's Funnel Cake Kitchen. Chocolate bacon funnel cakes sell for $8.
austinlee
KBF added many new dates to their ride closure schedule today. It looks like if any of you are planning to go soon, you should go in April in order to have most of the top coasters open at the same time, except for Xcelerator of course . At least one of the better rides (in my opinion) will be closed at all times in May, except for Memorial Day weekend which should be packed. Also GhostRider is scheduled to be closed from June 1-16, which surprised me because they don't usually do rehab on it in June, if I recall. Also, when I have been there in early June a few times the park was very crowded every time. Here is the link to the calendar. The first four listings have been posted for a while. The last four were added today. I will probably go later this month.
