The Knott's Berry Farm (KBF) Discussion Thread

P. 651: Montezooma's Revenge project terminated?

Recommended Posts

I hope that date doesn't change too but they usually change it toward the end of each month so I'm not convinced that it will stay the same. Also, they seem to be doing more rehab in May than they have in at least the last 5 years. In all of my visits in May since 2005 all of the coasters were open.

I was at the Farm today from around 11-12 and notice lots of Xciting things going on. When I asked around a few of the suits in front of the ride simply said "We hope to open by the end of the week".

Interesting, ACE's Spring Preservation Conference will be there Saturday so I see why they would want it running again this weekend.

I personally don't think the two have anything in common at all but it's a great that it could be open for them.

Coaster Enthusiast events don't dictate the scheduling of when an attraction comes back up from a major setback. State inspections, OSHA approvals, and park operations/maintenance schedules do.

Well I know that it comes down to all the approvals, but it does give the park a nice goal to work towards. Also by having an attraction reopen/premier during a large event it could attract some good media for the park.

But I will be as happy as the next person when the ride finally reopens!

Was at Knott's today and xcellerator didn't even move, not even a test. Oh and pony express wasn't running and it rained right when i was gonna get on silver bullet. Did catawampas always make noise, i don't remember, it made cow noises, scared the crap outta me.

Right. Be ready for long lines because they will most likely only have one train running... (For... obvious reasons)

I'm XCited myself!

I wouldn't expect long lines at all! If it is open (Which we all hope it is) the line should be a walk on all day.

I wonder how far along the red train is to being ready. Last I checked it was still in pieces behind the transfer track.

^With Xclerator being as short of a ride it is, also with a long dispatch time. I feel single train operation isn't that bad if compared to 2 train. Yes its slower but it is not as bad as most other coasters.

^^^ Good luck with Xcelerator, but I wouldn't count on riding it. There is also a chance of rain tomorrow, so I hope the weather cooperates for you. The park should be deserted tomorrow since it is a school day. I am very anxious for Xcelerator to reopen too. I have not rode it since June. I am going to the park next week either way so that I can ride Montezooma's Revenge and Sierra Sidewinder before they close for rehab. According to weather.com, it is also supposed to rain in Buena Park from Tuesday to Friday of next week so I will probably go on Monday. If it doesn't reopen by Monday, hopefully it won't be much longer so that I can ride it in May.
