Superbatboy Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Some Knott's auction items. An old slot machine went for $38,240. What must it feel like to have disposable income???
cfc Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Not sure what I'd do with those old animatronic figures, but having one of those old posters would be cool.
Nrthwnd Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 If I had a Big Bunch of Money, I would probably have gone for the carousel horse. Pretty.
Jew Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 That boomerang car is awesome, would think that would go for more. I would think the main problem would be storage. Where would the average person keep an item like that? The average person isn't buying a boomerang car to begin with, so I doubt the winner is concerned... Back in the day, they sold the Soap Box Racer cars for $1 to employees.

Where would the average person keep an item like that? As stated previously, living room. Definitely living room. "What? It's seating for four!" I want this.
SingleRiderCam Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Apparently, Knott's decided to add shin guards to Coast Rider. So if you are pretty large or pretty tall, prepare for some pain on the ride.
thrillseeker4552 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 ^I saw that post as well. I'd like to see some pictures... and I wonder why they did so. The ride is so incredibly tame, I see zero point for it.
joelwee Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm thinking of going to Knott's tomorrow. How are crowds this week, with it being Spring Break and the first week of the Boysenberry Festival?
Lameformer Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm thinking of going to Knott's tomorrow. How are crowds this week, with it being Spring Break and the first week of the Boysenberry Festival? I went to Knott's on Monday and crowds were really light. Silver Bullet was a station wait all day, GhostRider was at most a 20 minute wait and Xcelerator was also a station wait all day. In the 6 or so hours we were there we got 3 rides on Xcelerator, 3 on GhostRider, 4 on Silver Bullet, 2 on Voyage.
VegasBaby Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm thinking of going to Knott's tomorrow. How are crowds this week, with it being Spring Break and the first week of the Boysenberry Festival? My wife and kids were there Monday and they said it wasn't very busy at all. She said that most rides were a walk-on or 2-3 train wait at most. I think a lot of SoCal school districts have their spring breaks next week, so I would expect it to be a lot busier then.
coasterbill Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 By the way, are we going to talk about how Webcam 1 was moved to point at Calico and Boomerang or what? Unlike Cedar Point, there cameras never move so it's almost as if maybe there might be something tall popping up from behind Calico in the coming months once Boomerang is removed. Just saying...

Boomerang doesn't close until the end of the month. Was this move a preemptive strike, or is work starting before the curtain call?

coasterbill Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Was it? I assumed it was always pointed at Silver Bullet. I could be wrong though.
thrillseeker4552 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Was it? I assumed it was always pointed at Silver Bullet. I could be wrong though. When they first put up the cameras, it originally faced the railroad/Mine Ride. They moved it towards Silver Bullet, for whatever reason, not long after, and now it's back to where it was. And if we're talking Boomerang happenings/construction, I think the Boardwalk cam is the way to go.
SoCalJasonland Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Park is starting to get some spring break crowds. Lines on Thursday at 1 pm were 90 min for Ghostrider and 15 min to 60 min for pretty much everything else. Sol Spin was up in the air with a couple of people working in it but it was not spinning yet. thrillseeker4552 Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Sol Spin is looking good. I'm crossing my fingers for it to open by the 18th (highly doubtful, but that's when my senior class is heading to the park). It'll be nice to finally have a fresh new flat ride in that spot after seeing it vacant for so long.

Was considering heading down there for the day to get my platinum pass and finally ride Ghost Rider in all its new glory (haven't been on it in 15+ years).

Yes, I would expect it to be very crowded tomorrow. However, Knott's is giving season passholders early entry at 9:30am from April 8-16. So I would go early and get your pass processed (I believe the season pass center opens at 9am) and then use the early entry to get a few rides on GhostRider before the GP gets let in at 10am.
scottiemon Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 You don't need to go to the pass processing center if you buy online and upload your picture. I did this. You just go to the turnstile with your receipt. They scan it, and hand you a pass.
