KBrylczyk Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 ^ Probably about how Knott's is ruined because they abandoned their roots. You know, the usual.

Gnome Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Nice! Great opportunity for any of you who can make it! Really hope to hear good things about it
VegasBaby Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I wish I could make it for the preview, but it just doesn't work out with my schedule. I'm excited that the ride is opening on time and I'm very interested to see what TPR members think of it. I will be in SoCal in a few weeks, so I'll be able to check it out for myself then.
robbalvey Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Still have just a few spots left for the Iron Reef preview! Send me an email ASAP! Details on how to join: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1584284#p1584284
brneff99 Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Finally an event close to home and my work schedule will not conform...very bummed..thanks for continuing to offer these sorts of things Robb!
DJCallDubstep Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I assume the event will be concluded by 7pm, which is the earliest I can get there. Yes, thank you as always for providing these opportunities for us! It means the world!
simaand Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Robb, I didn't get a response yet do you still have spots available? Thanks in advance!
DJeXeL Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 He might be filling all spots and then sending out 1 "You have been chosen" email.
Gnome Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 The walls are down! Looks great! Knott's Network put up the following picture
CedarFlags Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 There's a pretty new sign, a queue, and the Arcade is back open
Namttub Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 It's great to see an attraction finally filling up that space. Also, I'm rather surprised they kept the rather unpopular Buffalo Nickel Arcade, though Iron Reef may change that.
Jew Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 It's great to see an attraction finally filling up that space. Also, I'm rather surprised they kept the rather unpopular Buffalo Nickel Arcade, though Iron Reef may change that. Arcades are low overhead with high profit margins.
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 It looks nice on the outside. Lets hope there some actual theming on the inside!
Gnome Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I have some friends who are at media day today. I was told "better than KD, but not Berry Tales," lol. Either way, its great to finally have something in the building again and the area is cleaned up a bit too.
livai Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I saw a video on youtube. really nice, much better than in canada's wonderland

Either way, its great to finally have something in the building again and the area is cleaned up a bit too. This is encouraging to hear. I'm honestly not expecting anyone to say it's better than Beary Tales, because that ride has nostalgia power. Looking forward to seeing this in the fall at West Coast Bash!
Dom497 Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) Here it is: It looks really awesome. Only problem is that you can see the projectors quite easily. Also, near the end I could spot what appeared to an exit to the building (someone left the door open?). Edited May 13, 2015 by Dom497
chickenbowl Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Of course this won't have the same love that Bear-y Tales had, but nothing can, really. I'm just so happy that Knott's has added a unique ride to its lineup and its yet another ride that the whole family can enjoy! It's also very nice that they've breathed some life into the most tired and dead area of the park. The ride looks great, and is a HUGE improvement to what was there before. I'm excited to see what Knotts has up its sleeves next! Keep the improvements coming! cough...GhostRider...cough Edit- Wow, there's decent amount of Physical sets along with the screens. I'm VERY impressed.
colinx Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I must say, I had pretty low hopes going into this considering how atrocious Wonder Mountain's Guardian is, but this is like the complete opposite. The graphics while not the best, look considerably better than WMG and the ride vehicles actually appear to be motion based rather than the cars on WMG. This you seem to be almost fully immersed in the world they created, just wish there was a bit more story but it's pretty good. It was a great step in the right direction, I think that by the next few they install in the Cedar Fair parks, they should be pretty solid.
