Hilltopper39 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Are those PTC trains with an Intamin style lap bar? Looks like a pretty comfy set up really.
robbalvey Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 Are those PTC trains with an Intamin style lap bar? Looks like a pretty comfy set up really. Nope! They are Intamin trains that just happen to look a lot like PTC trains!
Hilltopper39 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Oh cool, I never realized Intamin made "that kind" of wooden coaster trains. More importantly why haven't more parks converted old busted PTC trains over to these !?!? Awesome updates so far by the way. One of these I'll get to Japan.
sspaz1000 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Looks like an awesome little park! The capybara is awesome!
Barge84 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Great update! Hungover Steve is my favorite (he failed to mention that in his Facebook updates). The pissed off owl is pretty funny as well.
gisco Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I'm really missing Japan now. I loved taking all the trains and occasional taxi!
chadster Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I'll take Intamin train over PTC train for 1k, Alex.
larrygator Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Certainly jealous of those who now have a wooden credit in Elf that I don't. Hungover Steve is not surprising.
BigBomer Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Rodents of Unusual Size ... I don't think they exist.
Jew Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Pissed Off Owl is the new Grumpy Cat. dt Maybe it will get a movie deal! Very jealous of all those on the Japan trip...I miss Japan
IronWolfman Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 What exactly was wrong with Elf being a little bit bumpy? You made it sound like a bad thing, even though I prefer my wooden coasters bumpy and rough, not smooth, because roughness adds to the "out of control" experience.
DenDen Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Between the YouTube channel, and this website, you are much more entertaining than all of basic cable put together. Love these exotic trip reports!
jray21 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Nice update! Looks like a fun little park. I really miss the bullet trains! They have some of the best sandwiches in the world on them!

Sorry, but there is a difference between a rough woodie and one that is a little bumpy. If you think that a rough coaster is what a woodie is supposed to feel like, you can HAVE the rough woodies. I'll take the ones that are fast, fun, out of control, airtime filled, but I can ride over and over again. --Robb "I don't ride roller coasters to get a headache." Alvey
australianalex Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Love the addition of vines to this update. Owl/10 Suppose petting zoos are pretty different in Japan. I'm a big fan of rodents of unusual size.
larrygator Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 ^With the humidity in Japan I'm sure some people loved it.

Alvey I must be weird then, because I consider rough woodies reridable, the only exception being Zeus at Mt. Olympus.
XII Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I'm getting very jealous of those on this trip. The whole trip looks incredible. Gonna make sure that I do the next TPR Japan Trip.
robbalvey Posted June 28, 2013 Author Posted June 28, 2013 ^With the humidity in Japan I'm sure some people loved it. We actually haven't had much humidity at all this trip so far.
David H Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 You just jinxed it, Robb! I'd say great PTR, but it's Japan, so that's a given.
kailisun98 Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Good Luck in Fuji-Q! Hopefully there will be less people there.
julioot Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Love the updates! How is it that most parks look to be deserted on your Asian trips? Is it because you try to plan the trips on slow days, or are the parks really that empty all the time?
