coasterboi Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 The station looks like the Auction scene in POTC just no pirates but it looks like it is pretty much copied from POTC But i will have to make a point to get out here again this year

Liampie Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 They're testing the Splash! I loooovvvveeeeeeeeee this coaster....
VsEuro Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 http://www.lineaal.nl/splash.jpg Splash tests are going on. They are testing all kinds of settings (different splashes for winter and summer). The boats are not yet finished, and they don't run over the entire track (they are pushed away from the brake section into the lake to test the splashes ! Also note the film crew that is filming the results of the different splashes ! I, personally think that the result looks great, and altough at first, you would say that the entrance from the water to the building looks small ... if you have a closer look at the people on top you see it's not ! I also like that you almost cannot see any track (there are two black lines in front of the boat that i think are comming from the track ... but you can barely see them ! I like the splash in an open lake effect, way better than the splash in just another ditch.
Shockwave Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 That is looking really good now. I reckon they're gonna have three primary settings for the splash. "Big Splash" for hot weather, "Little Splash" for colder weather, and "Dan Splash" if you don't like water.
viking86 Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I think its looks awesome with the track being nearly invisible in the middle of the lake. It looks like a very fun ride, even though its not very tall or very fast.
Ghost Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 ^ Doesn't it look great. I can't wait to go and ride it... I am looking forwards to this one... and only about 1 hour drive from my house...
WildMouse Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 The theming for this ride is stunning. Can't wait to see this ride up close and personal in July. It's hardly suprising that Efteling is my favourite 'theme' park.
Dark Vampire Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 There was something on Belgium television, a quick look into De Vliegende Hollander. The most people here are not going to understand what they say, but that is not important, just enjoy the theming. (especially the houses theming in the station. ). http://www.rides.nl/attractie/showmultimedia/305 (Best is that you click download).
Damien666 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 The theming is stunning, the station is very well done. If the darkride part is as good as the theming. Then they have a winner on their hands. I wonder if it's open yet?
paulosthejackal Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 'Holy bacon Batman thats wicked' I love this time of year I love seeing all of the completed new attractions blossom like the spring flowers Paulos the 'time for some more theming on this one me thinks' Jackal
Max Payne Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Ooooh! just a few more weeks... the 16th of April is coming closer by the minute.... I am going to live on this ride if it's only half it's promised to be! *does little jig of joy*
Dark Vampire Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Some bad news. Due too problems the opening isn't April the 16th and there is a minimum delay of 6 weeks. The new opening date is not known.
robbeal Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 As long as its open by 13th July I don't mind! Which is a bit selfish, but never mind. I'm probably looking forward to this more than anything else on my belgium & holland trip actually. Well, apart from Goliath maybe...
project? Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 DVH tried to make it round. Anyhow watch the video to fined out! http://sabine.watuwilt.nl/video/video-0013.wmv
Cerberus Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 ^ Bummer! How did it end up going to dam slow anyway? That u-turn at the far end of the ride is almost completely on its side. Surely a corner banked to that degree was intended to be taken at a pretty quick speed? Anyway, HAR HAR KumbaK, first effort didn't really put in the effort did it...
FlippyTrick09 Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Well that sucks. When I saw the first drop I thought "Man, this ride is gonna go slow." but i didn't think that SLOW! Haha I've always wanted to see a coaster do that... You've made my dream come true !!! ThankYOU!! I just od'd (over dramitised!) haha thanks for posting the video though! I hope they get it run better next time!
Damien666 Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Hmmm...looking at the vid the boat does have some decent speed at the beginning, but the hill before the overbank is the problem. It took away a lot of speed from the boat.
stormrider Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 To me, it seems like they overestimated the capabilities of the one car train. It would be pretty easy to just add a motor to pull the car up, but it would not fix the bad pacing that it takes that corner on. I would wonder if more people in the car would just bog it down even more.
RCfanatic Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 Even if the car just made it onto the brakes i would be dissapointed, i mean that hill after the first drop HAS to have airtime what other use could it serve? I think that was the idea from the beginning why else would that turn be so heavily banked? Anyway maybe they can fix it by just lowering the track a little and speeding up the lift hill, cuz it better works and they better have airtime on that thing when i go this summer...
DATman Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 ^It's a little harder than just "lowering the track". It is expesive, becuase it would require modfying the track, supports, and maybe footers (correct me if I'm wrong). Speeding up the lift hill, on the other hand, is easy.
RCfanatic Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Yeah i guess they'l have to speed up the lift hill then... hey! maybe they can have airtime on the top of that hill to !!! Its sad dow that KumbaK's first real coaster has failed its test run, it all looked so good and beautiful until the test and they could really use a good coaster with their name on it... they'r probarly going all DAMN YOU RED BOAT DAMN YOUUUUUU!!!! Anyway, just kidding, i trust they'll get it to work i just hope it won't cost KumbaK to much being a new company and all...
